Hello, I grew up in western New York. During the worlds fair in the early sixties in NYC furniture made by Kittinger, Jamestown Royal and Jamestown Lounge was featured as the best in America. Have these brands gone under or I they just not noticed by you. There is also Hickory Chair from the Carolina's and of course Henredon and Baker. What on earth is your criteria for judging the "best". I am quite familiar with furniture manufacture and quality of build is my number one priority, not how many finishes or fabrics a piece comes in. Your choices show a clear generational division in what is important in this current culture.

I always wanted a good ol recliner made in the USA and got me one finally a Lazy Boy top of the line made with real leather and garbage wood inside which is called chip wood that's why they don't last the garbage wood just doesn't hold up now I have an Ashley top of the line made in Vietnam and it is holding up five years already I'm 65 so I think it will be my last recliner so USA made doesn't mean anything anymore.
We are sorry that your La-Z-Boy recliner did not meet your expectations. Many recliner companies use MDF Board or chipboard to help reduce the cost price of the recliner. Unfortunately this does mean that some recliners do not last as long. They specialize at customizing the look of their furniture with hand craftsmanship. All of this, would put the 100+ year old company in our best category.

After Best was purchased, it's not the same. Many places are dropping Best as a vendor.
