Man if you think about spoilers, almost every opening shows spoilers about the anime, but when you watch it you just enjoy it and don't over think about every frame. So when you get to those scenes it feels great to finally connect opening and actual anime content
The final arc of the anime is usually called The Election arc (which is probably my personal favourite arc, definitely my favourite OP visuals) For the anime it is kinda the most low-key arc, but I think it's the perfect wrap up for Gon and Killua's story and also is one of the biggest (up there with Yorknew) in terms of set-up for where the manga goes. I also just love the mix of all the politics on the election side and emotion on the Alluka side

SPOILERS for anyone who hasn't seen episode 131: The subtitles were, "His power is now equal to that of the king," but what Pitou said would actually translate to, "His fangs can reach the king;" there wasn't even a deeper implication in the wording. My take on this is that Gon could be comparable to Netero, I wouldn't even disagree if you said that Gon could be physically stronger than him, but just because Gon has the potential to harm Meruem isn't close to implying that he stands on equal ground. Again, consider Netero -- he inflicted physical wounds to Meruem but clearly stood no chance at defeating him through battle. Normally translation issues like this are minimal, but this instance is one of a handful that I'd pay to change if I could. Understanding what Pitou is saying in Japanese makes a big difference and if that isn't conveyed properly to the viewer I certainly consider it a poor translation.

Kurapika was always the character going down the dark path, not wanting to drag his friends into it which is why he seems distant to gon, killua and leorio. You'd have to read the manga for more Kurapika.

I am a little sad the 1999 version didn't get to adapt the chimera arc, since I prefer the atmosphere in it more than the atmosphere in the 2011.

That form would be obtained after endless training, like what Netero did or even more, but Gon doesn't train for the sake of training, he only trains when there's something he wants to accomplish, so most of his training is in intervals instead of continuous, on his own he would probably never reach that point because he has no real need for that

While there is some great content in the manga not yet animated (see: Hisoka v Chrollo), Togashi hasn't yet finished the next arc (known as the Succession Arc). It definitely is a pretty long chunky one too, and absolutely fantastic, but studios might hesitate to animate is because Gon and Killua are no longer in it (thus far). Instead we're following Kurapika and Leorio.
Can’t you consider to do a manga reaction of HxH for the later arcs? The story gets really good. There are TH-cam manga reactions where the reactors are just reading the manga aloud and giving their reactions. It works really well because the viewers can just read along with their own manga.
Actually, I see Gon as a side character in Chimera Ants Arc, and the King as the protagonist. And that’s why it’s so good. Though I like Hunter x Hunter, Gon is a shallow and boring character (one of the few things Yu Yu Hakusho do better than HxH, is the protagonist), but the King is, along with Komugi, the most interesting character in the anime.

the election arc was my least favorite. every other arc was like building stairs to the top/finale, but the finale being chimera ant arc. that makes the last election arc feel like a long and stredged epiloge.
IMO they can't do the next season of HxH until this current manga arc ends cause it is too confusing otherwise to keep up. And the new chapters comes out the way it is also doesn't help cause sure we kinda know who wants to fight who, but we still can't see the true ending for this arc, will they really arrive at the destination or not, how will the "political problems" affect the whole story, etc etc.
I definately like the Hunterxhunter endings way more than the opening. The opening is a good song but its not exceptional to me and plays the entire time. The endings are varied and are all good. My favorite Hunterxhunter song is definately Hyori Ittai. If you watch it after the episodes when it is incredibly emotional and matches the story at that time perfectly and on its own is one of my favorite endings ever. I definately like the Hunterxhunter endings way more than the opening. The opening is a good song but its not exceptional to me and plays the entire time. The endings are varied and are all good. My favorite Hunterxhunter song is definately Hyori Ittai. If you watch it after the episodes when it is incredibly emotional and matches the story at that time perfectly and on its own is one of my favorite endings ever.
