It's so true about Viera changing recruiting for his position. All a sudden teams were looking for tall and lanky players, with long legs to cover more ground. Busquets and Yaya come to mind
Vieira, but Keane was a monster aswell. The best era in BPL, those two battle it out. But Vieira was great with Zidane and Deschamps and Makelele for France, not the least in euro 2000, him and zizou got into the euro 11 with some crazy good ballers. Lampard admired both, but vieira was a bit more technical, slightly different technical ability to Keane, but lets be real here, both were phenomenal, someone who say either of them would be overrated were not there to see them or acknowledge how fundamental important they were for their clubs and the league in general. Man i miss that era!!
@AmosseMathameniAmosse-xq6hc I' never seen Vieira put a performance in like Keane did against Juventus in the champions league in 99, I'd take Keane over Vieira every time
Viera was WAY BETTER!! He even did it in Serie A when it was still the best league in mid 2000s well until they fell off in late 2000s.. Keane is another British player overhyped with British passport..He was just a bully who Chickened out whenever he faced Gattuso
When was that? When he was rubbish at Milan or when he went to Juventus and Inter after his legs had gone and couldn't move? Simply being at a club doesn't mean you were amazing. He stood in the centre circle giving simple passes and not much else whilst the good players in the team performed. There's a reason Wenger spent 2 years trying to sell him.
@@kb5509Lol you did not watch him at Juve thats for sure, he was a fundament in there with emerson and nedved, it was the last year at Inter his legs were gone. Dont trick yourself thinking otherwise.

Our Captain Vieira was simply the best,a great leader
Vieira was better physically. Technically theyre about equal. Mentally Keane was a beast tho.

Roy Keane was more of a better team captain who speaks up for the team.Patrick Viera was more of a team captain who leads the team to success.
Favourite midfielder. Far. And. Away.
Tough call this one
I don't know after all i wasn't born yet when both played 😂
How I wish I could go back to 1992
Both the same.. a step above is Makelele/ Desaily/Mauro Silva/Busquets/Rijkaard
Don't forget Patrick and Makelele played together in France national team, between both who was the leader of the midfield? Try to remember.
Keane everyday of the week silly question
Keane was a level above Vieira
Untrue

No one like viera
Mario Melchiot over there!
No.
Patrick indeed, what a midfield!

What did he do in seria A?
He's not British
Keane is more famous than Vieira in Italy. He carried United to beat Juve in 1999. Where is Vieira Champions league with Arsenal ?

Viera better player yes but Keane way better leader captain and mentality
