Danya and Peter THE BEST commentator combo. Some but not too much emphasis on drama & minute attention paid to explaining the technical details. Well done!
I hope Danya n Peter finish off the games theyre a gr8 combo. ❤
I honestly can’t even imagine the feeling Ding had after the pieces were finally cleared. What a game.
what a game, ding started blitzing top engine moves
I think doing it in the endgame in classical is more likely since the number of pieces are less. Still impressive for sure.
@@eufrosniad994 quite the opposite haha, the endgame has much more complexity, the number of possible moves and strategy is more than in the middle game or opening. That’s why Magnus is known for his endgame strength, he has a great intuition for it
@@eufrosniad994 wrong! Most mistakes happen in the endgame - due to the price of every move increasing progressively, also usually in the endgame players tend to be in time trouble.
It feels the opposite, super GMs almost always draw endgames not much potential to win in that phase
@@eyeofhorus1301 thinking fallacy! Its very rare for a chess game to be decisive immediately out of the opening, even if a GM blunders in the opening they will find chances and maybe draw or even win the resulting endgame. In other words - endgames are extremely complex and the results depend not only on endgame play, but also on what had happened in the opening and middlegame. Yes, some theoretical endgames are drawn, but its just the nature of chess.
What a defence from ding 😬🔥
Leko is such a powerhouse watching him teach Danya for 5 hours is a real treat.
Now this is a game worthy of its spot in eternity. What an insane draw
Spoiler...
People hating on Gukesh for "only drawing". The kid is just 18 years old and playing in the world championship. The pressure must be immense.
finally a mature comment. many people here not even accepting the age gap between them. number of experiences due to age really a plus point especially in high pressure situations like this match.
many people just hating gukesh for 'drawing'. they wanted him to lose so that they could hate him more
Can people please stop talking about Gukesh's age. There were many players more talented than Gukesh at 18. Just because he is young, doesn't give him a free pass to play weak.
People saying the match is boring and only draws is not playing real chess
@@Pottahverse143 Saying that there are more talented players than Gukesh at 18 yet he is the youngest ever to be in the candidates can you validate your statement?

Mine was already spoiled 😢
I appreciate the attempt
I think Ding is staring to get under Gukesh's skin by forcing all this draws. I wouldn't be surprised if Gukesh plays more risky in the second half of the set
@@erickaguirre4888 he's trying to gauge what Gukesh is going to play.
On move 44, Ding's best move is to self-pin, Rd5! (Self-pin was his winning move in final playoff game against Nepo WC match.) But f6 worked too because Gukesh didn't see to the end.
What a fantastic game of chess! Really enjoyed it today. Well done both players. Great defending from Ding and Gukesh deserved more but a fair result in the end. Amazing!
Every move past move 30 or so was absolutely critical

😂👍
I don't get it.
Explain I dont see any reason to timestamp this just standard analysis?
Ding Liren OP ! Beautifully Drawn by him !!!!
4:10:10 "It's really good this pawn's on a light square because it can be defended in some later universe...", was my statement of the day.
How do I explain to my children that Ding drew this game? How?
Recoursefulness and grit. It isnt even that clear white is winning in any of the lines. There were always some chances with Dings pieces getting active (including the king).
2:49:56 Could we all just appreciate the perfect joke Daniel just threw in after Pawn B4? @chess24
As a casual chess watcher I haven't seen Ding play since the disaster in Norway but after this it's hard to imagine him losing again in classical if he didn't lose here.
Gukesh should not be concerned too much about what Kramnik or Carlsen say. Neednot go after to answer them. IT IS TIME TO FOCUS ON OWN PREPARATION AND STAY AWAY FROM OUTSIDE NOISE.Liren is a stable and well experienced player who choked Nepo, if waiting for last games, it WILL BE DIFFICULT.

Keep the actual position on the screen!
The press conference is much better with computer analysis in real time available, watching the players finding out the truth for the first time.
Morgan Freeman: It was not decisive.
Would you please stop hiding the live board, I'm interested in the game, not the comments
Why have they got rid of the tunes at the start of the stream 😮
Gukesh needs to control his expressions in the press conference. His voice is not that pasive aggressive but the body language is worth a 1000 words
@@qazedctgb19 chapri guki is overacting
Needs is a strong word. Maybe you need to control your words.
Its called passion. Have you ever played OTB chess? Pressing against a strong player for 70 moves and keeping concentration for hours drains your brain to an extreme. Some other players smash up hotel rooms or camera-personell, so Gukeshs behavior is absolutely adequate and acceptable.
@@boxofcans461 sure he doesn't "need" to do anything, but he comes across as childish with that demeanor but if he is fine with that he doesn't have to do anything
@qazedctgb19 What does nepo and magnus crying after games tell you?
The best game so far
Why are people allowed to meander around in the room where the players are playing?
GREAT GAME. GREAT PLAYERS
A true monster Ding is
I was heartbroken he suffered this long but came back to save us
Hes not a monster he has the weakest mentality ever
Can give magnus a run for his money but not a monster lul
Top comment saying Gukesh drew 👍 thanks
Did i watch a chess match or a 5 hour movie?
Guy keeps on hacking in the background give him a cigarette
so many stupid questions in the press conference, imagine playing such an exciting game against a top player, having to calculate immensely for many hours and then that... poor players
Which player has the white pieces for Game 8 ?
@@marktimeny1488 Ding
is anyone going to talk about a fella calling ding a “bat eater” in the chat?
Knight e3 after rook a1 was winning for Gukesh but he missed his chances.
