    I have been eyeing this DAP for streaming purposes. Good take bro.

      Yet no one talks about the streaming aspect. The only thing I read about Roon is that is doesn't work (looses connection constantly) and it has issues with Tidal as well.

    Thanks for the review - what would be interesting for me as a user of a FiiO M11 Plus, with which I am actually very happy, is a comparison between of the sound these two devices and generally to the other brothers from the FiiO stable.
    After the release of the M23, the price of the M11 was reduced a little further and might be another alternative for some people.

    Hello Srba,
    One idea for next video is "HiFi for noobs"
    For example, I am newcomer in HiFi and it is pretty complicated to make own system.
    I know there are some other videos about this but I think they are not so descriptive and you will do it better
    There are some example questions to answer:
    - What parts of system I need (expect speakers as it is obvious)
    - What is the differences between amp, pre-amp, power-amp, integrated amp and do I really need them?
    - Some explanations about combinations like DAC+AMP for example...what else I need?
    - What are streamers? Do they always include DAC?
    - What do you think about all-in-ones as Cambridge Audio EVO 75/150 and should somebody buy such a device + speakers and not think about other parts
    - .....

    A suggestion.. when using the term slightly maybe if you can somehow quantify it like 5% 10% 50% better or worse it ll be easy to make decisions on one device or other in the comparison

  • @Cestmoi50

    The moment you connect a Chord Poly to the mojo2, it goes quite up in quality. (not cheap, but very very good) but the M23 is quite reasonable priced for a decent DAP

    For me Fiio sounds better than Hiby but 299g M23 is not quite pocketable so I'd wait for the Fiio M21- I guess from their naming scheme.

    • @iiWiReviews
      @iiWiReviews  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I haven't used it but you can easily look yourself in the audio settings, that option is the last one on the bottom and it's called HiFi Boost. But given how beefy battery and cooling is on M17. Maybe that's just a default mode of operation without a toggle option.

    How would you compare the fiio m23 to the XD05 Pro in terms of sound quality and power. Thanks

    • @iiWiReviews
      @iiWiReviews  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      XD05 Pro has a slight advantage in terms of how powerful and resolving it is. If a desktop use is the only thing you need, I would go for it. Just don't expect to carry it around easily in your pocket, it's much chunkier than this DAP.

    Hi from Australia!
    I’ve just started backing up my CD collection. Over 3500 songs. I’m using (WMP) windows media player to rip them to my pc first. I choose the WAV lossless format.
    Then I use audacity to convert to 432hz and export.
    I’m exporting 2 copies. One is aiff, and the other opus. Opus songs will be used on my iPhone, while the aiff are going to be locally played via volumio.
    The aiff files average about 1gb (32bit float & 382000hz) Opus are approx 40-50mb (196000hz)
    My questions please...,
    1. is there a better to rip way rather than using WMP?
    2. How can I add all the metadata, coz it doesn’t copy over when I rip via WAV lossless, only if I rip to mp3 format does the metadata copy over (title, album etc)
    3. And is the aiff and opus the best choices?
    I really appreciate any advice. ❤

    • @iiWiReviews
      @iiWiReviews  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's been some time since I ripped anything but I remember using AIMP player and its great media converter. I ripped all of my CDs into FLAC files. They're smaller in size but still lossless, and support metadata. They're also widely supported by all music players on the market.

    • @iiWiReviews
      @iiWiReviews  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      About Opus, I don't use it personally but it provides better sound quality for low bitrates like 64 or 128kbps. ACC is said to take over quality wise somewhere around 256kbps and higher. Since I never used lower bitrate than 256 for my lossy collection, I always used ACC.

    • @-someone-.
      @-someone-. 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@iiWiReviews ok thanks heaps! I appreciate that! I’ll look into AIMP and go FLAC, especially now that I’m having metadata issues tryin to fetch album artwork etc. 👍
      I’ve been using mp3 320kbps for the past 4 years, and recently thought of putting my spare 4tb hdd to use, hence going with aiff ridiculous sizes, but I can hear the most subtle differences in something like the hi-hat cymbals, they are more crisp and clearer. This is only when I’m using my KRK KNS-8400 headphones and running through my amp, from volumio.
      i had my friend play random ones, and I can pick the difference every time.

      As I went to flac to replace mp3, I found "dbPoweramp CD Ripper. It is good at getting tags, thumbnails andf allows manual editing of tags and thumbnails for what it can't find! I do have to look up info. on Discogs and type in all that info.
      Used Win MediaPlayer in the past and sorry to have so it made a mess of many files and would never again use.
      Just went from a Fiio M11 to a Fiio M15s. Fill Tb micro SS with over 46k files,
      Took me many hours to download all those from PC to the players.
      There were (2) 512Gb microSD in the M11 so I put them aside and started with a new card. Accident with M11 falling out of open bottom leather case (into a wet place), destroyed some of it's functionality.

      All WAW converters are using same algorithm as WMP. Also same MP3 algorithm. I do not convert to mp3. I have a lot of memory in my android phone so I use WAW. You MUST use Adobe Audition to improve your ripped files.
