Great presentation. Learned alot in short minutes. Wish our farm (Nwoya Eco Farm - Uganda) dream to come true sSuch that we implement this farm biosecurity.
Thanks for the video! (Am currently working on a masters in vet public health). Despite their level of education and experience, I'm always a bit wary of vets coming and going to farms to treat animals. I'm not sure how much they really pay attention to biosafety procedures? The same goes for delivery drivers. (There was an EHV outbreak nearby a few years ago and the paranoia was high). I also wish that vets had more time/were more willing about informing their clients about potential zoonotic disease threats. Knowing what I know now, I potentially exposed myself to a lot when working around farms and animals.
Have you ever had to treat your livestock for a zoonotic disease like Brucellosis, Campylobacteriosis, ecthyma, Cryptosporidiosis, E. coli. Influenza, or Leptospirosis? I'm wondering if farms are required to test there livestock regularly? Fantastic video, very informative! 🐑🐖🐤🐓
broad spectrum refers to ones that kill all 3 (bacteria, fungi, and viruses). as opposed to "sanitizer" that only kills bacteria. Hope this answers your questioN!
Farm "biosecurity" ends up being an excuse for corporate or unethical farmers not to be transparent. How are you supposed to "know your farmer" without seeing where your food comes from?
We think our biosecurity protocols are pretty transparent. After all, we made a video about it showing every step! People can still come visit to see for themselves every part of our operation.
Definitely not enough views for such incredible source of information. My new favorite channel, just when I was running out of Richard Perkins videos.
Welcome aboard!
Very nice video, Christine and Heifer Ranch Crew!
Thanks, Joan! We appreciate you.

Another awesome video.
Can you do a video on making your own starter poultry feed? Thank you
Great idea! Might be tough for us to do since haven't made our own in a while, but we'll look into it!
Heifer USA is it cheaper to buy the 2000lbs totes or make your own. That be a good video :)
If my pig is cough that can do ?
Good info. Thanks!
You are welcome! New videos every week now :)
