- Father & son tiny home build from start to finish. Video includes cost of home, property, and off-grid utilities. Complete build time lapse. Sustainable living.
This is a 15'x30' hyperadobe earth bag home. It has stucco on the exterior, cob on the interior walls, earthen floors. It is complete with a bathroom, kitchen, & appliances.
Kyle saved up and built this house debt free. He is now able to live very inexpensively on his 5 acre property without a mortgage or utility bills.
I set the volume the same on all of the songs, but unfortunately the volume levels vary through the video.
If you don't like the music feel free to turn the sound off and listen to the music of your choice. 🙂

Very good! It is a manual 3D printer. It is a tiny house as you say, but with that method it could be 10 times larger. Do not stop.
It's a lot of work! Smaller is usually better with this type of build. Some people build large hyperadobe homes, but it takes them many years to complete.
Maybe practical if you actually make it with a 3D printer, but manually it's a lot of work.
Wow, this is a great project and I’m sure Kyle learned so much from his dad helping him!
Impressive. Never seen this building technique before.
Thanks! 😎
What you all did together as family/friends was amazing. I would love to have grown up surrounded by such good people ❤.
that was my first thought - they are rich with community
Your son now has a wonderful home with no debt. His work ethic is admiral. However the greatest cost of building a home is the labor. Besides what Kyle provided he had wonderful and knowledgeable free help from family. You all need a shout out too. Kyle was also fortunate to be able to use tools and equipment and left over building materials from his parents build. A great show of family love. Best wishes to all. I have been watching your channel since the beginning.
Yes, it worked out great that we already had all of the tools, some leftover supplies, and the experience from building our house. Kyle's house is as simple as it gets, and he's not picky, so it all worked out well. Thanks for the many kind comments and encouragement. 😊🏜️
Congratulations to the entire family for a good job on this house for Kyle.👍😄❤️
Thanks! 😊❤️
Great capture of footage to show entire build of Kyle's home. $47,200 wow for a home, septic, solar, and water. There you go seniors out there watching this a home and land for under $50k.
Wonderful temp diff in little house.
I see a bed for a two people, but was wondering where a crib would fit? Just joking Kyle.
Cheers. Love watching Copperline Rattler Ranch, Affordable Desert Living, Jess and Jim, and Tiny Shiny too. Such fun!
Thanks! Yes, the cost wasn't too bad. I enjoy all of those channels too. 😊🏜️
That music sounds like it’s from an Irish River dance type of show . Lovely .
What a hard working set of folk , that adobe type construction is perfect for desert conditions, great choice .
👍🏴
Thanks! 😊❤️
It's a great project. And yet, those dirt bags are something like $5000 so I wouldn't call this a dirt-cheap tiny house. Personally, I bought and used five tons of straw at a cost of $375, minimal stud framing and got a 24'x24' cabin installed for less. (I actually bought eleven tons of straw, hired a semi and sold six tons that day, offsetting my transporation cost for my own.) Down in Peru, I designed a house that a hundred volunteers could build and assemble in a span of five days for a cost of $500 each. I'm not kidding.
The two rolls of bag material cost $900. He had 1/2 roll leftover, so the actual cost was $750.
We could have built a cheaper roof, but opted for heavy guage R-Panel metal roofing with 5 feet of overhang to shade and protect the walls. A roof with minimal overhangs and sheeted with tin or tar paper would have cost a lot less, but it also wouldn't last nearly as long.
That's awesome you are able to quickly and inexpensively build homes! 😎👍
This house has new appliances, electric, plumbing and a good roof. We saved and reused as much as made sense, but did splurge some on the roof and appliances.
This same roof would have cost a lot less 3 years ago. Material prices have gone up.
@@RedandAprilOff-GridAwesome build! What is the name of these rammed earth rolls?
Es gibt noch soviel Platz auf der Welt aber in Deutschland kann man gar nichts mehr.
@@elkekoehler5580hah, yeah, Germany is overcrowded as heck. You can build even cheaper than this here, though. It's just not allowed in Germany, too many weird laws and regulations. Only if you were to live in your Garden shed you might get away with more.
@@alodelore9597 It is 18" hyperadobe bag material purchased from volmcompanies.com/products/fencing-fabrics/hyper-adobe-tube-netting
Very tastefully presented. Thanks.
Congratulations my good sir. You are doing it. Much respect 🏴☠️
Much appreciated! 😊
I second your comment keystone
👍👍👍😜🏴🦕🦄😁🤞✌️
Respect both
@@chopperhehehe 🙏✌️🤗
a very professional work i enjoyed watching this video thank you
Appreciate it, thanks for watching! 🌞
Enjoyed the video. Nice place. He will enjoy his home.
It's heart warming to see a family come together to build a home. 🏡
Though I did miss the voice over commentary from Red. It just seems to polish off your videos. 😊🎚🔊🎙
Thanks again for sharing your journey with us 😊 🛠👍📺💪
Thanks! It was a fun build! The videos we put out weekly had a full explanation of the process. Thanks for following along! 😊🧡🏜️
That is an awesome video! I was glued from start to finish. Kyle is a lucky lad to have a great family to help him achieve his dream, hope he's happy in his new home.
Thanks so much? 😊
You are one hard working family!
that was amazing.
When I saw the thumbnail I was like "Why and How is he standing on freshly poured 3D concrete" then i saw it was dirt in sack... SUPER COOL!
😄 Thanks!
Wicked build . I wish more young folk lived within there means. Very clever young man
👍👍👍😜🏴🦕🦄😁🤞✌️
Thanks! 😊🛖🏜️
This is the most amazing thing I have ever seen!! It is beautiful. I love the sky blue paint!
Thank you! 🤗
Love the up and down up and down 1 sheet at a time instead of staking all of them up there at once. That's the way to do it
They are 20 feet long and heavier than they look. You might could get a couple of them up there at the same time, but it wouldn't be a good idea. Doing sheet metal is dangerous. It was a breezy day. The wind can catch them and cause serious injury.
This is how it starts you get a few gingers out in the desert and the next thing you know they're taking over
Loved watching that build, hope he’s loving it too!
That’s incredible! What is really fabulous is no mortgage payment ( hopefully )❤ I want the whirlpool washer! 😊 I love the lizard. It’s a very nice and cozy home!
Thanks! ❤️ Yes it's great to have a house without a mortgage or monthly bills. Car insurance, cellphone, and food are his only expenses. 😊🦎
I really enjoyed watching the build . It's a very nice looking small home . Great teamwork !
Thanks so much! 😊
What an amazing job from start to finish. Wow never thought a home could be made this way . congrats
Thanks! 🙂
Enjoy, the fruits of your labor!
Thanks! He really enjoys living there.
Such a wonderful edit of all of these tasks. Showing all of the key points of how things are going together and the approach. Son and dad on a mission...
Thanks!
Gotta admire the pioneering spirit.
We did enjoy reading the old pioneer type books as a family. 🙂
I have been following you from the beginning, there was great learning for me and most of the beginners.
Thanks for leaving the lessons to worldwide learners of earthbag building. Cheers! 😃😃😃😃
Thanks, glad it's helpful! Best wishes on your build! 😊
This was great to watch. The temperature for me would be liveable without the need for an air-conditioner. I have found my outdoor kitchen valuable in summer because I'm not heating the house when I cook.
Thanks! Yes, cooking outside would definitely help the inside stay cooler. 🙂
Toilet in open space- nice😊
😄 He'll probably eventually install a curtain.
Well done boys...
I'm proud of these guys: they know how to create everything with their own hands!!!
- I wish you all the best in your new place!!!
- May luck...always accompany you on your journey in life!!!
- May everything in your life be at the highest level!!!
Take care of each other!!!
Thanks so much! 🤗
You are definitely hard workers. Very nice to have a home.
Awesome job guys. A mini-split would definitely be my first upgrade. Other than that it seems to be everything a bachelor would need.
Thanks! Yes, a little heating and cooling would make it more comfortable, and he has quite a bit of extra solar power he could put to use. 🌞
@jurb
Definitely more windows , earth floors , sculptured earth lime plaster inside, bottle walls inside washroom, wood shelves,
@@robford3211 Yes, more windows would have helped heat the place in the winter. Kyle wasn't interested in doing any artsy type stuff. The bathroom floor is concrete, but the rest of the house has earthen floors.
Its perfect and easy to change and add to awsome build
👍👍👍😜🏴🦕🦄😁🤞✌️
I think it's beautiful. I would love to have one for my daughter. She is homeless.
Beautiful. America needs these homes.
Thanks! 🙂
What a neat house. It looks like it will last forever!
Thanks! 🙂
I give it 100 years maintenance-free with that roof and walls. Assuming no tornadoes or shifting soil.
Really cool! Lintels would have made me happier 😊
Much work, but very very beautiful 👍👍👍👍
Thanks! 🌞
Great thanks
Thanks for watching!
Wonderful, wonderful video! Thanks and please keep on sharing!
Thanks so much!
I like the dirt landscaping. Very easy to maintain.
It is really nice not having to do hours of mowing and yardwork every weekend. 😄🏜️
BADASS...salutes fr sinaloa,mexico
Well done Kyle... ALL of you... it's a fabulous family effort and you'll remember this forever. I'm all for this type of building and admire that you stuck to your principles throughout. Jolly well done, from England. Thank you for sharing all this with us. T'was very exciting. Best wishes to you all, Pam
Appreciate it, thanks for watching! 😊🏜️
can't wait to see a pool from the pit of the removed dirt.
It would be nice! Maybe if we all go help him, he'll let us use it. 😄
I hope you put something in the mix that will combine with water to set to make the walls less dependent on the sacking. I hope you will protect the walls with stucco or something.
The pit seems to have the right amount of sand, clay, and caliche. It packs well and dries really hard. The result is much like rammed earth. Yes, we put stucco on the outside and cob on the inside.
Wow, what a wonderful project . Nice to watch folks working together with great ideas.
Appreciate it, thanks for watching! 😊
Absolutely, My hats tipped to you. What an amazing video. It's a pleasure to know and watch a person put the blood, sweat, pain and tears into building their dream.! God Bless you and "Getre Done!"
Thanks so much! 😊
This is how you make friends for life. Awesome!
We are all family. It was fun all working together again! 🧡😊
Absolutely brilliant. Well done Kyle and family. 👍👍🇬🇧👍👍
Very interesting build, thanks for sharing! 😎🛖
Thanks! 😊
Huge props....tons of work went into this and I salute ya!
That is such a good job on a great looking house.Inspiring.
GOOD you all have homes...And you're extremely HARD WORKERS❤...But this was the CRAZIEST BUILD I've EVER SEEN 👀 ...THAT is a RIDICULOUS bunch of digging and pouring a d pounding DIRT...AND the TIME and EFFORT was WAY too much for MOST people! 😮😂I KNOW there are easier, and cheaper ways to build an off grid home! GOD BLESS YOU ALL ❤🎉
Thanks! 😄 Dirt Is pretty much the cheapest building material out there, but it's definitely a lot of work. The roof was by far the most expensive part of the house, so you could save some money there. We also included the price of new appliances with the home total. You could probably build an earth bag dome for less, but it would also be a lot more work because in order for it to be structurally safe, it has to be just as tall as it is wide. So a 20 ft dome has to be 20 ft tall. That's a lot of dirt! 😊🛖🏜️
Great video. Thank you.😎
Fantastic!!
this is amazingly inspiring
AWESOME !!
A manual 3d printed house! Heck ya!
Analogue oldstyle design = pre-digital.
Your house is.,,solid,, 👍
Like the long bag idea. 2 C-channels to make I-beam good idea.
Отличная, дружная, трудолюбивая семья. Здорово👍. Успехов Вам по жизни
Thanks! 🌞🏜️
Love the fact you had to make sure the "Throne" has been installed XD
Yep, 🚽😏 and the septic is the most expensive part of the whole build. But you gotta do what you gotta do.
Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉 Amazing
Thanks so much! 😊
I live alone - I'd ditch the dishwasher for at least a two burner stove top. To each his own.
well done folks.
A Great job done well
Thanks! 😊
Great job y'all!
It’s a great Build just think if you could live mortgage free
I really like this kind of videos ❤ love from Quebec
Appreciate it, thanks for watching! 😊❤️
To each their own. If is what he wants, more power to him. Interesting build, enjoyed it.
Thanks!
watched every minute. great
Thanks so much!
I love this. Later on more rooms could be added on.
Thanks! Yes

thx for sharing.
Terrific project recap. Thanks for sharing this video summary. Great interaction with your grand-dog too. The magnitude and intensity of the labor is incredible. An alternative use for the borrow pit could be as the foundation of a below grade root and storm cellar. Not sure if tornadoes are present in your climate but with our evolving weather patterns anything is possible.
Wishing you and your extended family a blessed week filled with gentle seasonally appropriate weather and restful evenings together. Peace
Thanks so much! It would make a great root cellar. Thankfully we don't get tornadoes here, but microbursts are a possibility. This week has been a lot cooler, and we got some good rain. It's starting to feel like fall.
Hope you are doing well! 😊🧡🍂
Great idea! Bravo 🤠
very well done guys, A great project and i hope Kyle is very happy In his New Home
Thanks! Yes he is. 😊
too cool, best wishes!
That was amazing!
Nice.
I by accident come upon this build.... very very interesting! I watched from beginning to end! GREAT BUILD!
Thanks so much! 🌞🏜️
well you build an house and a pond at the same time, not bad ;)
Amazing 1 want one but prob 3 times that big, good job all
Great to see this
Was very interesting watching the whole process. Alot of hard work but organized. Nice home.
Appreciate it, thanks for watching! 😊
A home to be proud of! Love the music you chose !
Thanks! ❤️
Excellent Build Y'alls! Thanks 👍👍😁😎
Appreciate it, thanks for watching! 😊🏜️
good job
It was worth the time that went into the build.
Fascinating build. Tough that he had to install that costly septic way out in the desert.
Thanks! Yes, pretty crazy, but glad it's done! All that is going into the septic is the toilet, dishwasher and kitchen sink. The washing machine and shower are gray water.
😂especially when our western military’s are aloud to go to foreign lands build bases and guess what *there aloud to burn the sh..t*
Best parents ever!!
Beautiful ❤
Super😊❤in all respectively considered facets / aspects of living a good life...😊😊❤
Thanks! 😊🏜️
very cool
Long sand bricks . Awesome idea . Funny ... a bucket of mud is still a bucket of mud . :O) Great job ! :O)
It's more like rammed earth tubes. Thanks! 🌞🏜️
Fantastic work team. 👏
Thank you so much 😀
@@RedandAprilOff-Grid Man I bet Kyle is super stoked about that pad. What a nice set up. Wow you guys are super generous and amazing people much love and 🫡 ☮️
Doing this work alone (even with 2 people) is tough. But it makes it all the more enjoyable/worth it in the end!
Thanks! Yes, there's nothing quite like building your own house. 🌞
awesome video, reminds me of some of the stuff we build on the ranch, very impressive what you guys did, keep it up!
Thanks so much! 🤠 Sounds awesome!
So cool and it turned out so good!
Thanks! 🙂
Amazing building methods, but impressive & joyful to watch. Congratulations and all the best in future. Kind regards from New Zealand.
