For round 2 of ASCENSION, we at re:call have decided to tell you the tragic tale of a strong group of friends during a time of war, a mysterious flower, and the Magician who would stop at nothing in order to save those he held most dear to his heart.
≫ theme: “Weight that Suffocates”
So we actually had a written short story for this, but aerie's word file corrupted and re:call tried our best to recover it but to no avail. please pray for us.
Theme interpretation: In a world plagued by war and death, a young magician by the name of Noa is tormented by reliving the events his teammates and closest friends lost their lives on the battlefield- with him being the sole survivor. A flower appears out of every cycle, offering Noa the chance to bring his friends back to life and permanently end the cycle if he is willing to give up something in return.
Though offered the opportunity of a lifetime, Noa finds himself hesitant to accept. What is he expected to give in return? If he accepts, will he forever watch over those who pass from life into death, with him suspended in the middle? Noa ponders over this, the gravity of the situation becoming the weight that suffocates his very being, to resist doing what he thinks is right- all because of his fear. But he has to try, he had thought. For them, and to atone for all that he’s done to make them suffer in countless cycles.

I love how kuroi Utah comes in the beginning and transcends to weight of the world in this!

I love these mash up/big collabs. I just came here from a beautiful Kuroi Uta one. The choruses are pure beauty when there's more than one person singing. Something I kind of wish they'd done is mix all three vocal versions together. There's the End of Yorha, but they go through each version individually. I think it'd be so cool to have them mixed in with one another. These collab covers made me think that. It's not really a complaint as it is a wish of course.
