That line from Alice in Wonderland comes from the original book. It's part of a lecture given by a mouse to help Alice dry off from the Pool of Tears. How is it supposed to help her dry off? The mouse says, "This is the driest thing I know." LOL.
@danielkaplan2290 I feel like the songs that were explicitly exposition should have been included. But different opinions make the world go round. I def think of that song and the accompanying scenes when that movie comes to mind
@@faeoori I really did wrestle back and forth. If I would have included all the opening songs (which basically are either explicitly exposition or thematic) then the video would have been mostly that. I think I should go back and do the opening lines of all the opening songs as another video.
I feel like Bambi starting with a character waking up is pretty appropriate for a coming of age movie.
Right. I think the whole cycle of life is reflected well when you have a character waking up.
I wonder if Walt chose a conventional first line for Snow White because he was taking a big risk making the first full-length animated movie.

I forgot that! Thanks for reminding me.
Tangled was the only one I could remember. 🤣
For just a pure hook, it's the biggest grabber.
Cool concept and hook 😊 Subscribed and that bell is on 🎉
@@jonjonruakere1030 thank you so much! Any videos you'd like to see?
Would you ever do blockbuster film analysis? For example, the new Nosferatu?
That could be interesting. Right now I am focusing on family films and theme parks but there's always the possibility of branching out.
You should read the books that inspired these movies. They are more detailed, easier to understand and have different endings.
I have read a lot of the source material of these movies. Granted, for many of them there are multiple versions (such as the fairy tales).
My mind instantly went to pocahontas. Imo, it opened with an expositional song. And that sounds count. Not there yet in watching this, but hoping
I mention the expostional song "The Virginia Company," but I also address the spoken dialogue.

Do Pixar!
sounds great! Thanks for the suggestion.
You forgot about Dinosaur. Still thanks for making
I also forgot Ralph Breaks the Internet. I need to do a follow up video.
