The random encounter with the ferals named after the neighbors can happen more than once in the game. I always thought it wasn’t the actual neighbors, but a manifestation of survivors guilt in the player character.
There is a feature that i don’t know if many people have encountered. But basically after you go thru kellog’s memories you start having visions of him randomly. I encountered him a little after finishing the quests of going thru his memories.

Just fyi, the veteran's hall and fraternal post are not the same place. Nate was NOT supposed to hold his speech at the fraternal post building in Cambridge, but rather in concord. However, the veteran's hall in concord can't be entered.
I like how the vault Tec rep can be found in the waste land, 210 years later as a ghoul. The best part is that he remembers you and you tell him the whole story and he gets surprised and you could invite him to stay at the sanctuary
I've got one. Dogmeat wasn't supposed to take up a companion slot. Initially, you were supposed to be able to take him and another companion with you. While Bethesda changed this, the didn't fully remove it. For one, if you have the Lone Wanderer perk you can still receive it's bonuses if you have just Dogmeat with you. Also, many of your companions like it when you use a stimpak to heal Dogmeat, which would only make sense if you could have them both with you. I play with mods, and have one that lets me have Dogmeat and another companion, and I have earned approval from some of them by healing Dogmeat. However, this mod unlocked audio files still in the game. For one, many of my companions made remarks about Dogmeat needed help after he'd been hurt. The most interesting audio file came when I went to Vault 81. When the Overseer came to greet me, the head security guard said "But, Overseer, what about her friend, and the dog?"(I had Dogmeat and Piper) The Overseerthen said "If she's survived this long out there, I'm sure she knows how to pick her friends." So Bethesda had everything all voiced, but scrapped the idea, and then never fully removed it.
There's some Boston history in Goodneighbor too. The Old Howard Theatre that serves as the Memory Den in game was actually torn down after a fire in the 50's, but it was shut down before that thanks to an indecency hearing by the vice squad after they did a sting on a burlesque show by "Irma the Body", the stage name of Mary Goodneighbor. And there in the intact theater you can find Irma, reconstructed in her namesake's image.
Did you notice all the skeletons? They're easy to miss, but there's actually many skeletons in the wasteland, meaning that they were working hard to let you know people died in the past.
my favorite was down south, i don't know where, but there was a lake and a bench and there were two skeletons holding hands looking at the lake. they got a good view of the blast.
@@loganhall6660 There's a good number conversations they have if your just sneaking around and not fighting. Moment they detect you, you won't hear them. Some are sensitive to what area your currently in. The motorcycle man pops up when around Diamond City I think it is.
Interesting thing, apparently Bethesda was originally going to have it to where Nora was also going to be a war veteran or maybe the war veteran was the one that you picked and the lawyer was the one who becomes the NPC, there's even recorded dialogue in the creation kit with Nora talking about being in the military. And there's even a variation of her first line. "*We're* going to knock them dead at the veteran's hall tonight."
I noticed those named ghouls, but just thought it was a weird thing and could never find a story about them, so I just thought they had to do with the nearby retirement home! I had absolutely no clue that they were the other residents of Sanctuary!
Drasos, yeah, now that I've thought on it, I saw them once in a graveyard (didn't really stick out in my mind), once outside a hospital, and once outside a retirement home, which was the only time I really noticed it and like I said didn't find any story on them in the nearby building. It would make way more sense if they only spawned in or near Sanctuary. Like when you come back with the minutemen, if they were suddenly in town.
I think Deadeye may be a callback to the blind bandit in Skyrim that's supposed to be on lookout: Ulfr the Blind. He's even got his own special book that is literally just blank pages.

TY for the ghoul group info. I always wondered what they were about, I thought they were part of a quest I missed. Also notable: these ghouls always seem to have high damage resist even at high levels. Vault Rep didn't know them but it could have been interesting to get some dialogue about the others there. For that matter it really sucks for the unprotected soldiers keeping people out all the way to the end.
You can actually find the Vault-Tec Salesman from the beginning of the game in Hotel Rexford (located in Goodneighbor) where he explains to you how he lived when the nukes dropped and has been living in the Wasteland for over 200 years as a ghoul. You can recruit him to one of your settlements as well.
Here are two more you might have missed out on. 1. In Diamond City at Power noodles there are metal stools. If you look at them closely they are baseballs. Not a surprise considering that we know Diamond City was a stadium. 2. In vault 81, everyone wears Pip-Boys right? WRONG. The vault security does not wear Pip- Boys.
In Vault 111, at the time of the intro, there is only ONE- count 'em- ONE resident with a pip-boy: the doctor you follow to the cryo pods. He is the skeleton that you take the pip-boy from.
@Bai Mark Not sure what you don't get. During the pre-cryo scene, you follow the vault doctor to the cryo pods. He is the only person in all of vault 111 wearing a pip-boy. He is also wearing a lab coat. After the 210 years of sleep are done, you get your trusty pip-boy off of a lab coat wearing skeleton. It's that doctor from earlier.
A note from S to E can also be found in the Blood Moon expansion for Morrowind in a hollow treestump. Bethesda has been keeping this one going for a while.
Nancy Drew there’s actually another sniper toting “S” who shows up as a random encounter. He has a note on him that corresponds with the note in the hollowed our rock
The clipboard thing actually CAN be seen without console commands. when you run to the gate and the vault tec rep is denied entry, when you are let in you can look at the soldiers clipboard and that is the same clipboard the vault tec rep had
Mantra Man is a random encounter and most players won't be using the SS costume as it's really pretty weak until L45. You also get additional lines vs the Mechanist if you have the gear on during that addon
People who use mods are more likely to get this now (as of this writing, who knows if he'll hide it as he has most of his other mods) Neiro created a "Railroad Handmaiden" outfit based upon The Kite's artwork, which as it's somewhat based upon the Silver Shroud outfit, recently they patched so that when wearing the Silver Shroud costume, you can then go to the Armor Workbench and make it so that the Handmaiden overcoat counts as the Silver Shroud outfit. That way, since the Handmaiden outfit is a nice upgradable outfit, you can wear it instead and be the Silver Shroud throughout the game!

Wade Dewell Fallout 4 may be a lot more straight forward experience, but its world just as rich and dense as Skyrim, it’s also incredibly beautiful and colorful (which is particularly interesting since it’s a nuclear wasteland). The gunplay and the whole combat is the best I’ve ever seen in an RPG Bethesda game.

Oh no, we got another Skyrim video coming out in a day or so. However I've been playing Fallout like crazy over the past couple days, and needed to justify that to myself.

On spectacle island, there is an outhouse on the edge of the island away from other buildings. Inside the outhouse you can find two skeletons on top of each other. One wearing nothing but a shirt and one with a dress. I just thought that was neat.

i might be wrong, but I believe there are multiple hollowed out rocks scattered around. I remember picking stuff up from them multiple times but maybe I'm just gaslighting myself. I always stumble on them by accident
My favorite is the hollowed out rock, I like the idea of their adventure going on in the background of all that is happening, hints at a larger world. Also the thought of the manic giggle designer that made that little encounter must have had amuses me.
Also to mention if you go to Fraternal post where dead eye lives and stand at the mic on the stage your character will actually say “War.. War never changes” and is another tiny detail on-top of the terminal entry
If, when you first reunite with Codsworth, you ask him about anyone else being around, the confused robot mentions how Ms. Rosa lets her kid run around unsupervised in his costume, more than a week early for Halloween. Buddy, that ain't no costume... Sure enough, he's one of the named feral ghouls among your ghoulified neighbors.
I actually ran into those ghouls with the Mr and Mrs. names. I think there was like 6 of them. But I killed them before they even noticed me. I tried searching to see if Oxhorn talked about it, but now it makes sense of why they were named like that! Thanks a bunch. :)
Two notes: 1. I'm pretty sure Rivet City is much larger than Megaton, at least counting square footage, though not necessarily population. 2. The hollowed-out rock behind the Museum of Witchcraft is a nod to a hollowed-out rock behind Megaton in Fallout 3. In that rock, there's also a loot and a note, written from E. to S. As for who these people are, I've no idea, but that's the story behind that little easter egg.
I vaguely remember a few more places that mention the S and E characters. Pretty sure you can loot a note off of their bodies that leads to the hollow rocks in both games.
please do another, I really enjoyed this, especially "dead-eye" I haven't actually cleared the Veteran's Hall yet and I don't really want to anymore because of this video lol I know he's like pretty much a boss in F4 but I would still very much like to see a mod where you can choose not to kill him, maybe get him as a follower that often bumps into things.
The_Splooney 1: Okay..? I didn't say it was a regular thing, only that he'd done a Fallout game in a Skyrim-heavy series. Besides, Skyrim is a lot older than FO4, so I hardly see how FO76 coming out matters.
In the game, as you wonder around, you may find the vault tech rep, I forget where but he turned into a goul because he wasn’t able to get into the vault and you can talk to the vault tech rep and tell him to meet you back in where you lived before the bombs dropped and you can assign him to a new job that he will be happier doing than being a vault tech rep that almost got him killed.
something even better about the fraternal post: if you click on the microphone on the stage, the player will say "War never changes". Finally delivering the punchline to his speech/her husbands speech. To expand upon this, the male character says it in a sort of reminiscing/weary manner, you get the sense he wishes he could have just gone on to his speech as normal (Because who wants to live in a wasteland, yada yada), but when the female character says it... the sheer _sadness_ you can hear in her words. She's actively mourning him in that moment, and you can really _feel_ it. It's probably my favorite little emotional moment in the game. Everything just... works.

My favorite Easter Egg in this game is extremely personal one. I lived in and graduated from Natick High School. My house was on Lake Cochituate. Right near a cemetery. In fact there is literally 3 cemeteries 2 right on Lake Cochituate. And one across the street. One of my good friends families owned the only house that you'd consider on the property of the cemeteries. Big piece of land. And they made a majority of the headstones. Every summer he had a huge party. And we never had to worry about the neighbors. And I could walk home after.
I had never once encountered manta man. Didn't even know he was a thing. Then I watched one of your videos where you mentioned him and boom. Next time I played there was manta man

The attention to detail never surprises me with bethesda, these people work their asses off to make sure everything is perfect or damn near close. And with fallout 76 I have no doubt they will be doing the same. Remember that map is 4x the size of fallout 4s map so there will be much more to look for and many more things to find. Did you know that in the Red Rocket Station where you find Dogmeat, the gas pumps aren’t actually called like that, but are cooling liquid pumps, since cars don’t consume fuel anymore but use nuclear fusion, that needs to be cooled to keep stable.
Regarding the Castle tunnels (from the wiki)... Toward the end of The Castle tunnels, near General McGann's body, is a crate of Amontillado wine. Opposite the wine is a skeleton seemingly entombed in a wall. This is a reference to Edgar Allen Poe's story The Cask of Amontillado, where the protagonist's enemy is lured into an underground vault, chained and then encased by a wall. The label of the Amontillado Bottle reads "Montressor, Amontillado, Bottled by: P. Edgar" is again a direct reference to the work of Poe and the protagonist, Montresor. While he was serving at Fort Independence, Poe noticed a gravestone in the fort's cemetery dedicated to Lt. Robert Massie, who died on Christmas Day in 1817 from a duel with Lt. Gustavus Drane. According to folklore, the soldiers lured Drane into the basement of the fort and walled him up alive, although this never happened in reality. Amber Green no, it doesn't. In the base game, you can't have Dogmeat and another companion with you because each companion takes up a companion slot.

Eh, you meet them right at the start of the game, i recognised the names right away when i met them.
There's actually references to them on a terminal in Sanctuary as well, talking about which drugs each person wants.

I found them near Natick? Oceanic Institute. Wasn't sure why they had names but they attacked me so I killed them.

In Vault 111, at the time of the intro, there is only ONE- count 'em- ONE resident with a pip-boy: the doctor you follow to the cryo pods. He is the skeleton that you take the pip-boy from.
@Bai Mark Not sure what you don't get. During the pre-cryo scene, you follow the vault doctor to the cryo pods. He is the only person in all of vault 111 wearing a pip-boy. He is also wearing a lab coat. After the 210 years of sleep are done, you get your trusty pip-boy off of a lab coat wearing skeleton. It's that doctor from earlier.

The clipboard thing actually CAN be seen without console commands. when you run to the gate and the vault tec rep is denied entry, when you are let in you can look at the soldiers clipboard and that is the same clipboard the vault tec rep had

Mantra Man is a random encounter and most players won't be using the SS costume as it's really pretty weak until L45. You also get additional lines vs the Mechanist if you have the gear on during that addon

Encounter is just too random. I played through the game 3 times and clocked in over 500 hours yet never saw Manta Man before.
People who use mods are more likely to get this now (as of this writing, who knows if he'll hide it as he has most of his other mods) Neiro created a "Railroad Handmaiden" outfit based upon The Kite's artwork, which as it's somewhat based upon the Silver Shroud outfit, recently they patched so that when wearing the Silver Shroud costume, you can then go to the Armor Workbench and make it so that the Handmaiden overcoat counts as the Silver Shroud outfit. That way, since the Handmaiden outfit is a nice upgradable outfit, you can wear it instead and be the Silver Shroud throughout the game!

Wade Dewell Fallout 4 may be a lot more straight forward experience, but its world just as rich and dense as Skyrim, it’s also incredibly beautiful and colorful (which is particularly interesting since it’s a nuclear wasteland). The gunplay and the whole combat is the best I’ve ever seen in an RPG Bethesda game.

On spectacle island, there is an outhouse on the edge of the island away from other buildings.
Inside the outhouse you can find two skeletons on top of each other. One wearing nothing but a shirt and one with a dress.
I just thought that was neat.

My favorite is the hollowed out rock, I like the idea of their adventure going on in the background of all that is happening, hints at a larger world. Also the thought of the manic giggle designer that made that little encounter must have had amuses me.

Two notes:
1. I'm pretty sure Rivet City is much larger than Megaton, at least counting square footage, though not necessarily population.
2. The hollowed-out rock behind the Museum of Witchcraft is a nod to a hollowed-out rock behind Megaton in Fallout 3. In that rock, there's also a loot and a note, written from E. to S. As for who these people are, I've no idea, but that's the story behind that little easter egg.

The_Splooney 1: Okay..? I didn't say it was a regular thing, only that he'd done a Fallout game in a Skyrim-heavy series. Besides, Skyrim is a lot older than FO4, so I hardly see how FO76 coming out matters.
In the game, as you wonder around, you may find the vault tech rep, I forget where but he turned into a goul because he wasn’t able to get into the vault and you can talk to the vault tech rep and tell him to meet you back in where you lived before the bombs dropped and you can assign him to a new job that he will be happier doing than being a vault tech rep that almost got him killed.

something even better about the fraternal post: if you click on the microphone on the stage, the player will say "War never changes". Finally delivering the punchline to his speech/her husbands speech.
To expand upon this, the male character says it in a sort of reminiscing/weary manner, you get the sense he wishes he could have just gone on to his speech as normal (Because who wants to live in a wasteland, yada yada), but when the female character says it... the sheer _sadness_ you can hear in her words. She's actively mourning him in that moment, and you can really _feel_ it.
It's probably my favorite little emotional moment in the game. Everything just... works.
My favorite random encounter is when you meet the preston garvey imposter ahahahah!

My favorite Easter Egg in this game is extremely personal one. I lived in and graduated from Natick High School. My house was on Lake Cochituate. Right near a cemetery. In fact there is literally 3 cemeteries 2 right on Lake Cochituate. And one across the street. One of my good friends families owned the only house that you'd consider on the property of the cemeteries. Big piece of land. And they made a majority of the headstones. Every summer he had a huge party. And we never had to worry about the neighbors. And I could walk home after.

The attention to detail never surprises me with bethesda, these people work their asses off to make sure everything is perfect or damn near close. And with fallout 76 I have no doubt they will be doing the same. Remember that map is 4x the size of fallout 4s map so there will be much more to look for and many more things to find. Regarding the Castle tunnels (from the wiki)... Toward the end of The Castle tunnels, near General McGann's body, is a crate of Amontillado wine. Opposite the wine is a skeleton seemingly entombed in a wall. This is a reference to Edgar Allen Poe's story The Cask of Amontillado, where the protagonist's enemy is lured into an underground vault, chained and then encased by a wall. The label of the Amontillado Bottle reads "Montressor, Amontillado, Bottled by: P. Edgar" is again a direct reference to the work of Poe and the protagonist, Montresor.
While he was serving at Fort Independence, Poe noticed a gravestone in the fort's cemetery dedicated to Lt. Robert Massie, who died on Christmas Day in 1817 from a duel with Lt. Gustavus Drane.
