Oh wow. I just finished bib's section and he's already done irreversible damage to the text simply by literally translating everything except the word dragon
I believe someone added an extra 12 onto the 64 by accident. A math mistake in translation 🤭. Just imagine if these languages had to actually comunicate? 😂
Two legs in and the cautionary tale has been mangled into something utterly unrecognizable. Even with Biblaridion deliberately sowing some chaos, I am impressed and frightened!
Hey! Bib said this in the LangTime Studio Patron Discord Server: "I thought you did a really great job considering how relatively little help I gave you"
I think its a technique/style of translation where you deliberately alter the structure of the text to ensure the translation is understandable to the target language by making some assumptions when needed. What I think happened is that, since Bib translated the "counting with fingers" figure of speech literally, when translating back to english it was assumed that this was a relevant inforamtion and that it had something to do with performing magic, hence "you use magic from your hand" or something like it. Afterwards, it was assumed that the next sentence was somehow reffering to hands still, since they were the last noun of the first phrase, and the only fleshy thing reffered to, so it was assumed that the flesh eating monster baby (poor translation for 'dragonling') had somethig to do with the hands of magicians, basicaly a huge leap of logic, since the original sentence didn't make much sense and had weird references to hands and flesh eating monsters. In the end, it is Bib's fault, Bouba was just trying to make sense of that mess.
Also, Bib translated “Dragon” as an animal, whose name roughly translates to “which that rips hands of with its jaws”, as that was that closest thing in Ilothwii.

Frr
He got all the hard parts right and still messed it up intentionally
@@Weavileiscoolyes, but thats part of the fun
@ I very much agree
Just came from Biblaridion's video, and I'm laughing like crazy and how quickly this is going totally off the rails!
Oh, no, the sixty-four years turned into seventy-six killers!

Jesus, already the text is super mangled after just two passages. Ilothwii sure was a tough nut to crack, huh?
This is amazing and (unintentionally?) hilarious
Ngl, I had no idea that there were so many Conlang TH-camrs!
I wonder what Biblaridion thinks of this translation of his text. Because my sides are off to the moon.

"Unlike some voters in November" _Oh no_
it's ambiguous enough that it could refer to either side
Can't wait to see how different it is compared to the original
The monging is amazing
18:55 well that aged well lol
I was just about to comment the same thing...
I'm really wondering how it got so hand centric lol.

@@eikebehrmann3493 it was flesh not hands but I guess it could've gotten translated as hands
