Alejandro Puerto Díaz, nacido en la provincia de Pinar del Río en Cuba el 1ro de octubre de 1964, es un ex luchador cubano de la llamada lucha libre olímpica que llegó a ser campeón olímpico en los ya históricos Juegos Olímpicos de Barcelona, celebrados en el año 1992 del pasado siglo.
El entonces muy rápido e imbatible luchador Caribeño, ganó impecablemente la medalla de oro en la división de hasta 57 kg, por delante del luchador Sergey Smal (plata olímpica) del Equipo Unificado, y el norcoreano Kim Yong-sik (bronce olímpico ), respectivamente.
La lucha olímpica, como método de autodefensa militar y hasta ceremonial de guerra del mundo antiguo, ya existía antes del 708 A. C. Fue conocida por la mayoría de las civilizaciones. De hecho, se encontraron representaciones de antiguos luchadores en las civilizaciones acadia y sumeria.
