This has got to be one of the best-preserved mines that we have seen and there is so much to see that is still there. Unfortunately, the copper thieves have got to this one as well and have destroyed the old motors to harvest the copper. I used to provide the bungs for the toe holes and other uses for a mine in Arizona.
It does suck that copper thieves ruined those museum pieces. They could have turned it into a museum or reopened it the way that gold prices are going.
As much as I wholeheartedly agree with you, there is still a certain amount of irony in people mining copper from old mining equipment. 😂
You don’t often scare me but you just done did.
So great seeing the mines left to time as almost perfect capsules , aside from the jack wagons stealing the copper.
I was the lead mechanic for the demo of the Mansfield Ohio Westinghouse building , what an amazing place. It was 5 stories , each a million sq. Ft.
The stories the locals would come by to tell us was so interesting.

I know I'm not the only one who doesn't actually mine or prospect, but is fascinated by it and by geology, and therefore enjoy living the life vicariously through your efforts. It makes my blood boil that scrappers destroy these historic sites :(
Jeff. Mother nature did make soft rocks. It's called. Silver and gold. And if you start singing burl Ives from Rudolf. I'll quit watching lol😂❤. Fascinating place. Where are you. The trees dictate mountains. Nothing in Reno looks like that. Love it. Wow is all I can say. All that equipment still partially there. You could almost start that mine up again. The cores reminds me of 2006. We buried my uncle in pioche. Mom and I went on a mom's tour. The mill shack was still standing and cores from the mines around town. Grandpa's mine was in there. Sad people don't leave things along. Souvenirs and if we all take one pretty soon the neat thing from yesterday is gone. Mom died in 2014. And my attachment to pioche is nothing more than a graveyard. Thankyou for keeping these ghosts alive. ❤❤❤

I worked with Hercules explosive calked Trojamite B in thev late 60s. It was a very good explosive for mining.
I'm in NJ, very close to where the Hercules explosives was made (plant is closed now). Thanks for all the great vids

I got my dad hooked on your channel when I was up in Vegas these last few days, man! You gave him that gold fever again! We're already planning some trips to some sites between kingman and prescott. He loaned me his ol whites mxt eclipse 950 until the move I told ya bout. It still works great so I'm really stoked to get out there and try it around here (its mostly been used in AK). It's gonna save some time for sure.

Have a few comments about taking things from old mines and mills, when it may be OK and when no way it's OK. But not now except to say not OK on this mine. That one could be semi-operable except for copper thieves. A pox be on their house. It would be fantastic to see that assay office restored for demonstrations.
Believe that I have figured out something about Jeff. You have to add mining engineer and metallurgist to his resume. Went to school with mining engineers (the Canadians were just plain crazy), geologists, and metallurgists. Could be strange people....

Awesome video. Love the mine videos. Just went up to my local mountains yesterday to explore an area. Had a perfectly intake orebin as well as a ton of open shafts still. Walking down the hillside I found some blue chalcedony super stocked off that! Also it’s snowing now but I found an old pair of cowboy boots I put em under a bush to keep away from the elements more to hopefully keep em around longer. Still has the stitch design on it

Pretty sure that’s what I am in now is Blood red hematite, this stuff has big crystal growth and rose quartz mixed throughout it . And like a Black lava rock conglomerate type material . Didn’t expect to see it since literally everything around me is all blue stone and red shale . But this stuff is so odd to be here . So odd . And so red !
