As much as I love Cho Seung-woo and Park Shin-hye, I'm also disappointed at how the writer seemed to have made Seo-hae looking more like another damsel in distress. Since the beginning, I thought Seo-hae was gonna be a strong-minded, quick-thinking character who could really kickass. But somewhere along the way, her character seems to be getting inconsistent. She could fight dozens of guys, break through a glass, jump down from high rise buildings and only get a few scratches. She looked fearless in the beginning. At times they made her look as if she had superhuman strength, but then she gets grazed by a bullet and suddenly she gets dizzy. She blocks a knife by grabbing it, and gets pulled away to dodge a falling object, and she faints. And in both scenarios, a knight in shining armor came to her rescue. First was Sun, second was Tae-sul. Whenever she has to be in a scenario where the male lead/supporting male lead needs to be the hero, she suddenly turns into a weak girl who's afraid, lost, and helpless. Like, I can't grasp what kind of character traits Seo-hae actually has because the way she acts is sometimes very contradicting. I'm not saying that she can only have one side, as people natural have different sides of personality. But they usually act similarly in similar situations. I might not be putting this into words perfectly, but I just felt that the writer didn't do her character justice. If she were to be the strong character the trailer implied, I assumed she would have fought her way out as Tae-sul came to the basement to rescue her in ep10, instead of being carried out (which is a typical knight in shining armor k-drama moment). It's like the writer couldn't decide if Seo-hae was gonna be a tough fighter all the way or not. The writer just had to reduce her badass character who was capable of playing a part in saving herself to someone who still constantly needs the male lead to be the one to save her in the end. So much for her travelling back to the past to keep Tae-sul alive. Sorry for the long post as I was getting disappointed in the way Park Shin-hye's character was turning out since the last few episodes. I enjoyed the time traveling theme and both leads are great actors. And I'm sure the production crew, editing crew, and entire cast have put in a lot of effort too. I really hate to admit that I started noticing other things about the drama that made me feel more and more frustrated. Like how there's less than a handful of female characters in this who are still alive and actually have significance. The only ones we have now are Seo-hae, Seo-jin, and Bingbing. But if you look closely, none of them hold any authority. Bingbing is a very minor role; Seo-jin is just another puppet; and Seo-hae who's supposed to be our main heroine, keeps ending up in situations where she needs to be saved by Tae-sul instead. I like that many writers these days have started having a balanced cast in terms of genders and equal authority, but it's really disappointing when a huge drama like this with top actors, that's supposed to be jtbc's 10th anniversary drama, was written with such an old-fashioned mindset when the theme is so futuristic. The irony, huh? 😕
For seo hae character I think the difference in his strength is between the futur and present maybe because of time travel!! She is like a copy of herself Sorry for my english😅
