That's what's so great about him. He doesn't follow a formula, he does what he feels like doing in the moment, that's the biggest inspiration I've taken from him as a guitarist
@@nelsonvontitfuk1471 agree! A lot of ppl think he had no experience in professional music education, but actually he attended GIT for a while and he delved rly deep into music theories (Flea’s original words). The solo of Scar Tissue proves that: he combined Dorian and minor modes so that he has in total eight notes to play and it still sounds well harmonized. And it’s improvised! One without a solid base in music theories could by no means do that!
John is a personal hero of mine. Although I try my best to copy his style, I fall miserably short every time. None the less he inspires me to practice and become a better player and find my own voice through my instrument.
Johns playing is not about being able to shred like a machine or scaling all over the frets, he's all about expressing emotions through his guitar, and is in my opinion one of the best in the world at that.
Some might say that he plays very simple, and he does, but then you're certainly missing a lot of other things that differentiates him from the rest. His style is simple, but at the same time, stylish, unique and extremely impressive. He has never had the need for playing more technically that he does as he found his style anyway. It's not the technique that makes him great. It's the uniqness, the sound and the originality.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is musicianship. A true virtuoso delivering unbelievable solos throughout an astounding performance. Now multiply that by three.
John Frusciante will always be my guitar hero :) I'm sad that he's not in the Chili Peppers anymore :( I so wanted to see him again with the Peppers!!!! John will always be my hero!!!! I even can play two Chili Pepper songs on guitar :D I can feel his solos in my heart.
Bro I’ve been saying this for years since I discovered Slane Castle in 2014. When he rejoined I cried because I’d have the chance to see them with John live
On my list is doing my wife in the rear end. We will be married 25 years and she told me that's her gift to me. She has a beautiful rear end. I can't wait to watch her ride me backwards while she takes it in her rear end.
Man that outro sends chills down my spine. I was lucky to see them with John at least once. Ive seen them 3 times with Josh and he is great but would certainly be mind-blown in excitement if John ever came back.
Nathan Liberty Duuuuude!!! My mouth was gaping in utter shock that day when i read the news on the Chili’s instagram page. I thought someone hacked it and was playing a sick joke.
John actually plays very simple. His technique has Always been simplistic compared to other guitar players that are way more technical in their ability to play. But John is an artist foremost and the way in which he plays those notes is something that only he can do. Thatäs what makes him what he is and not just Another guitar player among millions of other guitar players. He is unique. He takes the simple and lifts it up to Another dimension completely.
so excellent, I couldn't just comment once!!! this man is truly phenomenal and a true master of his craft. such a spiritual experience!!! love and prayers John. we need a soul Luke yours in this world...pls stay with us!!! love and devotion forever!!!
This makes me sound 5 years old (I was born in 1997) but this is the most HD concert footage of John I have seen in my life (too young to ever see him with RHCP unfortunately...). Thank you!!!!!!!!!
This is the point where John decided "OK i've mastered the shit out of the guitar so I'm going to kill it here tonight and then embark on a new musical adventure"
He didn't accidentally pull the whammy bar out, the threads snap when you go crazy on it like that! It was barely holding on after so he just ripped it out and tossed it, its a bitch to pull the remaining threads out of the bridge after.. I feel bad for his guitar tech... And the '62 strat :/
WOW..john was on a completely different level compared tot he rest of the band. It seemed when he started to solo, everyone int he band just watched to see where the hell he was going to go with it. He was RHCP.
He uses a combination of pedals for Dani California, but distortion wise, he's using the Boss DS-2 on the choruses and switches to the Electro Harmonix English Muff'n for the solo.
That's opening jam is the fucking shit! Flea and Chad's effortless communication, John is the closet thing to Jimi Hendrix I've seen ever. Man, that jam fucked me all up.

by the comments everybody seems to be please about the way John had play that concert, by watching the face of the other members especialy Flea they seems to be piss off.... and that's great!
John Frusciante's solos are like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get
Well said. Just so random but at the same time, sounds likewise written. Fricking good dude
Agreed!
Your gonna get something good thats all
This comment is proper underrated.
That's what's so great about him. He doesn't follow a formula, he does what he feels like doing in the moment, that's the biggest inspiration I've taken from him as a guitarist
The energy behind that outro is unreal!
...!!!!!
i love your channel man!❤️
***Syngergy
I clicked here cos it says "JF solos", but that damn bass can't be ignored :)
and the drums too... and don't forget some of anthony's dancing
And Flea's genius head dancing 0:59
SO TRUE !!
Drumming isn't exactly bad either..
John plays with a very "euphoric" feel, it just grasps the soul and demands your full attention. Living proof that pure technique isn't everything !
S0UND this is so very true. John playing becomes a complete spiritual experience. love and prayers John.
This impresses me more than technique. Its not "feel" or "soul", its his knowledge and application of music theory.
@@nelsonvontitfuk1471 his own interpretation of music theory which he developed through 'feel'.
His leaD playing is garage band. I don't want to endure it. Just play the great songs

Keep practicing and learn some Hendrix stuff cause that's why John learned.
i never thought a guitar player could grab your soul and make it feel like every note runs through your body. a legend and flea complements very well
You need to listen to some Hendrix, dude.
hinjurock modern age Hendrix dude
9:09 john accidentally pulled tremolo out, smiled and threw it to the people :) love u dude..

Whoever caught that whammy bar has been blessed with the Holy Sweat of John's hand
Or got a concussion
I would gladly take John's sweat or the concussion from getting thumped by the whammy bar🥰

I love it when he throws his whammy bar into the crowd after breaking it off!
He's so energetic in this video, seems like he really enjoyed it :)

Flea: Shall i tell john that shows over?....nah, better let the man do his things
At the end i was like screaming sad "John don't go don't go.. "
That ending was like the best moment in rock history since the 70's ....

!!!!!
Well now he is.
how cute he hops to the mic again at the end
i wish he did more solos. i just love hearing him play
His skip off the stage at the end is beautiful.
WELCOME BACK JOHN ❤️
On my bucket list: see RHCP live in concert with Frusciante playing guitar...hope theres a chance it could happen
Theres a chance ;)
Bro I’ve been saying this for years since I discovered Slane Castle in 2014. When he rejoined I cried because I’d have the chance to see them with John live
I’ve booked to watch them in London in a few months…..
Have you checked it off the list?

I was born in 2004 so I can feel your pain
Feel happy. You will finally see him with RHCP probably. He's back.
John feels every single note
I feel you john! Amazing :)
John é foda, mas nesse show ele estava em outro nível de realidade, pqp que coisa mais linda!!
6:25 Greatest single note I've ever heard from John
2:23 til 4:19 - Dani California (outro off). Not Tell Me Baby
4:19 - Scar Tissue
we love you..GRAZIA!
I found this very inspirational, and Jimi I mean John's outro was very beautiful. The crowd won't forget that.
john shouldn't have left the chilis. Some of the tastiest guitar playing I have ever heard in ages
Dan Jacobs The boss is back in town now!!!
i don’t like people’s guitar playing faces but frusciante is the only one i love
This is the point where John decided "OK i've mastered the shit out of the guitar so I'm going to kill it here tonight and then embark on a new musical adventure"
Come on john as if you didnt enjoy performing check the outro, now come back to us please!
Alex And he did!!
completely fucking amazing. he burns the guitar up. waiting for fire to spark John. love and prayers for you sweetheart

OMG! John really feels his music =/ Lov u John;)
That groove completely fills it!
did he throw his trem bar in the crowd at the end?! how cool!
scar tissue solo is amazing
Gal Cesana insane
best of all time
What a beautiful video!
I'd love to see the full concert.

Thanks!
Sam Kumar he switched it out for the muff'n in 2007
A question! For the solo he uses both pedals or he turns off the DS-2?
I believe he only uses the fuzz on the solo.
+MatthewCovers yes but this is in 2006.
Astonishing
