Bitter sweet after the death of Julian Bream! Julian and John play so well together and Sor was a wonderful composer for the guitar, his pieces fit so well to the instrument.

I started playing Guitar in 1986 (Australia ), a few months later I saw an add in the news paper for a concert with John and Julian, I regret to this day that I didn't go to that concert.

Wow, they toured together that late? Would have loved to hear them too !

Yes but I don't think they would have played together for much longer after this. A few years later I did see John perform a Steve Gray Guitar Concierto with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra at the Melbourne Concert Hall so that was consolation for missing out on them playing together.

It was my great privilege to hear Julian Bream in an ancient and cold English Church in Suffolk, England in 1965. I couldn't understand how he could make his fingers do what he was doing. I couldn't even feel my toes! Ah those Brits...

How I regret not having been able to attend a concert of theirs. I would have loved to experience their joy in the music live. Well, we have it now. Watching Julian live into his music is a thrill every time. They were so different and yet they complimented one another completely. It was magic!
And of course, Fernando Sor's music. A composer for the guitar (and everything else) extraordinaire. His love for and his understand of, the workings and capabilities of the instrument, are astounding. Two guitars, and you have a complete miniature orchestra, and he knew it. Fabulous music!

Good Lord, one wouldn't be the better of that!, I've been lucky enough to have seen both of them separately live, John on many occasions and Julian twice but not as a duo. Absolutely wonderful, Many thanks. Gérard lacey in Ireland. X.

The sheer endurance of that piece is confounding. I don't know how their hands didn't fall off from fatigue. Absolutely impeccable performance!

Bream covers all the emotions from A to Z. Williams surpasses at A to C.

Only one thing is better then to listen to a guitar. That is to listen to two guitars. I believe Beethoven said that. 😀😁

Beethoven said "The Guitar is a miniature orchestra in itself". He said this after hearing Giuliani play.

I like the clear way of Julian Bream"s right hand technique, very similar to that one Segovia, where you clearly distinguish free stroke (ONLY FOR ARPEGIOS and to simultaneus stroke of following strings) from rest/apoyando strokes (for SCALES, HIGHLIGHTED NOTES, AND SIMULTANEUS STROKE OF NOT FOLLOWING STRINGS), V. Segóvia.
