I still have a clear memory of their American TV debut on Conan.. playing this song. recorded it on my cd-r recording unit.. perfect sound. still have it on CD..
When was buying some music from Tower Records, they were selling a Ravonettes EP CD with this song on it. Didn't know these guys at all. I will hold onto the EP unto my death.
Collectively their song is quite original...It clearly is inspired by, and uses a do-wop, Phil Spector, surf rock, synth pop, Jesus Mary Chain sound, but all at once. It's so sexy and brilliant.
To those who say this is a complete rip off of Swell Maps.... I dont see the complete part. The riff yes is very similar but not completely a rip off. I see more Jesus and Mary Chain in there music! I have been in love this band since the beginning in 2002! This video came out before the nicolas cage movie that came out in 2007.
my bad!duh!it's right there at the end!maybe this was on the movie soundtrack and they got permission? other wise that flaming skull is a obvious rip-off!
This is the song that blew me away and turned me on to the Ravonettes. Here we are in 2021 and I am still so excited.
Rock on.
100% this

This is so underrated
"It goes somethings like....this!" ....I love that part.
22 years ago. My senior year in high school. Fast forward to 2024 - still listening; still one of the best bands of this millennium.
I met them Chicago after a show. Super cool and humble.😊🎉
I've loved this song for more than a decade! I want this in 4K.
Love that dirty fuzz bass :D
This is one of my top 10 favorite albums from the last decade. Love The Raveonettes.
A versão original é ainda melhor!!!😊😊😊😊
I think this song would be good in a Richard Rodriguez or Quinten movie ... maybe like Sin City or something! Gotta love the base and drums
back here, like 10 years later... still rocks so much
É assim que se faz rock :)

Quite an "electrifying" video...!
Surfabilly punk, like a great lost X song.
Ha! I thought it was 'Attack of the Ghost Writers'. What a turkey.
CooL

the fog and the fizzle.
You've got to love Sharin for what she looks!

So epic. (Social Distortion meets early Kinks meets... Gene Autry)?
nah just a blatant ripoff of Midget Submarines by the Swell Maps
***** As in Gene Autry. 1949. Ghost Riders in the Sky. I dunno.
@jordanthewizard marvel can't sue unless they use a likeness! i'll double check but i didn't notice a flaming skull!
@poughkeepsiejohn1 totally! better voice though. p.s. poughkeepsie? hell yeah!
To those who say this is a complete rip off of Swell Maps.... I dont see the complete part. The riff yes is very similar but not completely a rip off. I see more Jesus and Mary Chain in there music! this is more paying homage to the original comic book series!
listen La Roux - In For The Kill
More sonic youthish than anything
Honestly the song reminds me of Frank Zappa's "Hungry Freaks Daddy" more than anything.
@alfsmithahm Except that it came out three years earlier.
@jordanthewizard @snoopydance71
Ghost Riders were part of American folklore long before motorcycles and long before Marvel.
Flaming skulls and all.
@poughkeepsiejohn1 sometimes she looks like Kate Moss also
Denmark
@TheBishMighty You are absolutely right...vocals the same also...
I hope he's ok...
Hallooooweeeeennnnn
@poughkeepsiejohn1 nico from vu?
to be continued ?????
cool daddy-o
Vevo dosen't allow people from Denmark to watch some music-videos from The Raveonettes, and the band is from Denmark, how wierd is that?
If i were convicted of a crime, this wouls be my walk up song in court,
Link Wray sound
+sharin plays a jazz so definitely mrs foo
who's listening in 2021?
Can't skip the ad?
Mute video. Alt Tab.
Hm, isn't "Ghost Riders" on an EP, though. Semantics antics but yeah, great CD any way you slice it.
You've got to love a girl who looks like Nico!
Michael Strunge vibes all the way
they remind of the cramps and x.
you've got to love nico cause she looked like sharin :p
they remind me of the kills, kinda
I was just thinking about the Kills "Midnight Boom" about 2 look-em-up
kinda reminds me of Swell Maps
my bad!duh!it's right there at the end!maybe this was on the movie soundtrack and they got permission? other wise that flaming skull is a obvious rip-off!
there was another ghost rider before marvel had one....just sayin!awesome song'btw! tim buk 3 meets the cramps!
Who the hell were the stupid people with no good taste in music who disliked this song
This would be awesome if the mix wasn't so noisy and muddy. I know it's a stylistic choice, but it takes away from an otherwise great song. :)
@harlequin2614 Complain? I was informing other people that it is plagiarized. No need to get butthurt.
@TheBishMighty
The Raveonettes plagiarism this or re-cover?
Sounds a bit like The Cramps.
This song sounds like a lot of things, but psychobilly is certainly not one of them.
In cold blood anyone?
@TheBishMighty thats right buddy go online and complain about people who make more money than you...
