Let me know below what questions/prints/comparisons you’d like me to make with the new Elegoo Centauri Carbon! Will try to followup before it officially goes on sale!
It seems they only released this printer to try and grab anyone who doesn't already have a P1s. Would still prefer to have the Bambu after issues with previous Elegoo printers.
Looks like they are planning Muit-Color with that cutter. The plate is the same as the X1/P1/A1, which is nice since plates can be picked up cheaply on Amazon. Overall this looks like a solid printer out of the box, once they can add an MMU/AMS type thing it will compete well against Bambu's printers.
@@UncleJessy Thanks :D I say this as someone who's gone from a modded Ender 3 to a K1SE! I'm planning on using my Ender 3 to print high quality small mini prints with a .2 nozzle at .05 layer height. ASA is fantastic. It's been my go-to replacement for ABS for a few years now. If you need something thermally and impact resistant or the ability to machine it later, it's a great option without toooooo much work other than an enclosure, drying it, and keeping it in a dry box since it's like to absorb moisture like ABS and TPU. Lightning infill is also usually my go-to infill for busts and larger decorations / figures / statues that are never going to be actively touched. Assuming everything's supported and you have 2+ walls, the prints look great with lightning infill. Not very strong, but stronger than you might expect otherwise surprisingly. Thanks for the content J. Stay well!
I’m going to wait. I bought an Elegoo based on your review and it worked great for the first six months. Now it requires maintenance every print. Heard this from other owners too My Creality S1 still prints fine.
Pretty compelling printer. Bambu-like build size (yeah, could be bigger), orca-skinned slicer with preloaded profiles, produces nice quality prints in good time, great screen interface and spool location. What's not to like? And considering how Bambu have recently lost a lot of trust with their consumer base, I could see a LOT of people choosing this instead. I mean, Bambu's whole thing was, "It just works." Well, if this Elegoo "just works," but without the Bambu-like BS, then why not give them a try? I'll be interested to hear how this machine does over the next few months, once it has been released to market and gets worked really hard.
You are setting an example with the transparency you have regarding your relationship with Elegoo. Appreciate it, and great video as always. I currently have a Neptune 4 pro as my only printer, and this looks enticing. Might actually buy it when it comes out.
Dude people tease you about the door, but you showed Creality a glaring oversight that they quickly addressed! Plus I guarantee you no other printer manufacturer will ever make that mistake because of your video! It was funny as hell, but hugely helpful! 💯👏🏻
It’s good to finally get an up close view of this new printer. I had previously purchased a FlashForge Adventurer 5M mainly because of the price and the ease of use and simplicity of the design, but found out that certain materials require an enclosed heated print space. I started looking into printing an enclosure for the 5M (and still may) but then Elegoo… I also recently purchased a Saturn 3 Ultra which is everything the Saturn 2 was for my Mars 3! So, needless to say, I have had good success with Elegoo products and really look forward to the new Centauri Carbon!!!
Been waiting for more info about this printer. Love the accessability. Being able to open the top is actually paramount to my workshop especially because this thing will likely sit atop my Snapmaker2.0 enclosure (aka my most ventilated area sans my "resin/painting corner", and supported ofc). More importantly it looks like a reliable printer which ultimately what I want, alongside Elegoo's support which I've already personally experienced to be nice on the resin-side. I don't see multi-color or a large size, which could be cool, but for me specifically is ultimately more of a gimmick than a boon for what I do. So yeah, I'll keep reviewing my options, but it does look like a hit so far.
Im so excited for this, im so addicted to 3d printing after getting my first neptune 3 plus about 7 months ago. Been bugging elegoo daily for more info about this printer ❤
Eh, I’m sure there is one but I have to see it. I’ve been through most of the top name printers in the market and not one has been able to copy Bambu correctly. Mostly because software but some is quality related, like reality. Some people like the closed source approach. I don’t want to screw with 9 million settings and 3 slicers to try and get an extra 10mm/s on my print speed. @@Bluecommando10I don't personally agree. My N4M has worked great from day 1 unless it was something that was my fault since it was my very first printer.
Nice preview. I like my Elegoo machines (3 Max, 4 Max and Saturn 4), so this is interesting, but I'll wait for something larger as I really want a minimum of 420x420x500. If they could add a colour printing feature then they'll really hit the competition where it hurts. I've got a Anycubic Kobra 3 Max on pre-order simply because Elegoo don't have a colour version of their Neptunes to offer. I hope that changes. One thing I will say is that a 15 minute auto-level doesn't bother me. I probably auto-level my 3 & 4 Max machines every 6 months or so and that usually after changing a nozzle. I'd rather have a long auto-level done right than a fast one done wrong.
I've been holding off on upgrading from my ole Ender 3 Pro, and man I might be convinced this will replace it. The LED strips would definitely make the interior look better

This isn't competition for any of the Bambu printers as it doesn't have multi material. This competes with the Qidi and the K1 and the new Prusa. There's definitely some room to compete on price. But what we really need is someone to target Bambu's printing experience with all of the little things that they do so well to make it a joy to use. Creality is inching in there, but sometimes I think that everyone knows the problem, but nobody knows how to fix it.
and if you look out your left window, you can see the umpteenth Bambu clone this year. Boy I cant wait for Bambu to release their new printer this year and send the industry into shock again. I get that everyone is playing catch up but we have been getting the same clone printers for soo long now. What is it going to take for these companies to actually innovate and make something exciting.
tbh, the only reason I might buy this instead of a bambu is the less closed source ecosystem. If bambu was more open (and the p1p's screen wasn't so bad), I would invest in them instead
Elegoo other than prusa are the only people so far i'd trust to try and build a 1:1 or better version of the p1s/x1c printers. My experience with other brands were far worse than mine with elegoo and so i'm very hopeful for this machine. OF COURSE they'd drop this now, right after I just bought the Mag X and now likely don't have the room for one of these... But maybe some finessing with the wife, i can find room... The mag x is for specific needs and content, this would likely be for content but a nice fresh breath of air when I want a change from my bambus haha

imo elegoo is the best "affordable" 3d print company .... i used their pla filament all the time with my p1s... 100 bucks for 10kg pla is just great... i also think the print quality of the centauri is amazing in the video
It is a shame they didn't think like prusa and have someone raise the idea that there's a lot of space inside where they could have pushed in the filament holder so even 60-70% of the roll width could be shifted inside to reduce table space.
Great video Jess, but Elegoo just had to add the word Carbon, if the printer turns out to be just as good at a fraction of the price it then stands on its own two feet without the need to leach off of Bambu's success.
@@bennetb01Elegoo said it's not and the MCU only has a single cpu that is covered with a heatsink, so it's hard to tell what it's running. It's got an 8gb emmc onboard, though

Otherwise, I might just have to pick one up.
Really wish there was an AMS that is interoperable with Elegoo and other brand printers
and if you look out your left window, you can see the umpteenth Bambu clone this year. Boy I cant wait for Bambu to release their new printer this year and send the industry into shock again. I get that everyone is playing catch up but we have been getting the same clone printers for soo long now. What is it going to take for these companies to actually innovate and make something exciting.
Innovation costs. They let others develop new tech while they just clone old stuff. Prob not even load cell levelling.
tbh, the only reason I might buy this instead of a bambu is the less closed source ecosystem. If bambu was more open (and the p1p's screen wasn't so bad), I would invest in them instead
I dont know why, but I thought that dr strange bust was thanos with hair for a second. Maybe its the purple.
I‘m happy to see somthing new from the Centauri Carbon😁. Thanks for the Video and the aware that you sponser, but I have to say, I‘m Impress Elegoo. I follow since his first announce end what I see, I have to say , Elegoo you got me. Only wich, bigger buildvolum and maybe multy colour, but otherwise very Impressiv. Thanks again for this video👍
Yes BIGGER!! I am still using my CR-10-S5 to do full helmets, and would love a printer like this so I can get better, and faster prints.. BIGGER!! BIGGER!! BIGGER!!
I currently have the saturn 4 ultra and the neptune 3 max but I will definitely get this one
Man the dead pixels that show up in the center left and center north throughout the video nearly gave me a heart attack. Thankfully it’s something in the video and not my display.
Seems a real shame not to have printed a Gunstar to show off, maybe even Centauri's space car
I'm waiting for the inevitable Centauri Carbon XL or Pro or whatever one will be 300x300x300 or bigger.
Just preordered the New Ultra 16k a week ago, but I'm also gonna get this one for sure. Will be a great setup
So when do we think they’ll release the pro version? A week? A month?
That said, looks like a decent CoreXY. Props to Bambu Labs for upping the bar!
Still waiting on the n4max pro.
Go to Ludicrous Speed,,, No Capt. not Ludicrous Speed!,,, Yes, Go to Ludicrous Speed🤣
The p1s has the option to not bed level every print too. Except with elegoo you have to level every print on the neptunes.
The P1 or X1 is a bit more refined than that. It will do a 5 point check first and change to 36 point levelling if needed. I always leave it on.
It’s a shame flashforge didn’t release a bigger printer. The 5m is amazing
Looks really tempting. Be interesting to see the price
imo elegoo is the best "affordable" 3d print company .... i used their pla filament all the time with my p1s...
Great video Jess, but Elegoo just had to add the word Carbon, if the printer turns out to be just as good at a fraction of the price it then stands on its own two feet without the need to leach off of Bambu's success.
oh man you miss spelled my "name" it's h3li0 (not Hi3lo) :D happy to see the print from my helix bowl though, looks very clean Uncle Jessy :)
Im so into this. Lets go.
They should add a subscription service to use the printer.
I’m guessing this is Klipper based right? Just not mentioned? If this is, I hope they make it so we have full access to it easily
Looks like its not klipper to me.
@@adamnichols476 Based off of what?
@@bennetb01Elegoo said it's not and the MCU only has a single cpu that is covered with a heatsink, so it's hard to tell what it's running. It's got an 8gb emmc onboard, though
Price & how are they on having part when you need too order?
Does it use Klipper like the Neptune 4 series?
If not, can we flash it on the existing hardware and can it be flashed back to stock if need be?
we went from race-to-the-bottom ender 3 clones to race-to-the-bottom x1 clones. Im not mad at it, competition and options are good, but ill stick with my printer until the next generation of progress arrives
