Sleep Token is one of those bands where you can class it as metal but it's more like a pop/industrial sound that happens to use distorted guitars sometimes

Man, I was so friggin worried about any new Sleep Token songs because I didn't think it would top Sundowning to anything else they've released. Then listening to it, I said to myself "man, why was I even worried?"
Their journey is only beginning my friend. Soon sundowning will be like the baby brother to their future albums but it will always have a special place in our hearts

Like Nightwish, Wintersun, Alcest, Ghost Brigade, Dimmu Borgir, Jinjer, Sleep Token... The amount of unusual mixing of elements and breaking the pop rock song mould among these is astonishing. But they are of course not playing on American radio stations.
That drop into the second verse is pure gold. It quickly put to bed my worries that it'd be another "pop track with a breakdown" and I'm legitimately excited to see what they come up with. September is so stacked.
What I loved about his voice is that it is so beautifully haunting. Once you listen to him, you aren’t left intact. You’re left with a strange feeling in your chest. Love his voice and love this song !

I feel like this is a very streamlined Sleep Token song when compared to their previous material. Like there is 1 or 2 mins of build-up cut out. Kinda wish there was more of the slower opening. That being said I can't stop listening to it. Also dude your video production value has increased so much since the last vid I watched. Looks nice.
Radio. This has radio all over it. I'd say this is almost a sellout but I don't know them quite enough to do so, and the few songs I've heard generally sound like this one. But this one just feels tailored made for radio.

For example, heavy products can weigh down curls and they'll be more stretched out, lighter products can help curls bounce up more. A good gel can help the curls clump and hold better. This is a great song but honestly it just didn’t have that “epic-ness” feel their previous songs did. The Offering, Jaws, Nazareth, and sugar songs are good examples of that slow burn epic-ness I’m talking about.
Anyone remember the band Ultraspank? They have that sort of feel. If you haven't checked them out, do so. Good band. Also remember me a little bit of early Celldweller. An awesome project by Klayton.
My first takeaway from this song is that it has more heaviness to it like their live shows rather than their other recorded tracks. I hope the rest of the album is like this cause it’s soo good
I don't know everyone. I don't know much about their catalog as a whole, I'll honestly say that I've only checked out a couple of their songs. But, people, this is not that heavy. This is like modern NuMetal. Vocals are good, but at the end kind of monotonous. And it was pretty much the same riff over and over. I like the production, the pseudo Industrial background effects are kinda Kool. All in all VERY pop rock. Very radio friendly. My favorite aspects? The Vocals and the Drums, albiet much of them are touched up. Anyways, a decent song. I give it a 7. They sound like they're unconsciously filling in the void left by Linkin Park. Different vocals, more Genty, but kind of Linkin Park. My two cents.

Song writing definitely feels different. Seems like more of a “radio single” format, but it’s by no means a bad thing. Just different.
