I concur but for example people like CR are well coached in terms of public relations, irrespective of how tough questions will be, he will smoothly run through them and we would realise later when they have assumed position that actually the individual is not competent.
Melema ask good questions, it's not about for him to know the law, but this is about common sense and intelligence
This interviews are helpful , you get to see that judges are human also with there own short comings

These JSC interviews make be very critical of the credibility of the judgements handed down by these judges. how did they even become judges? These people aren't well versed in law, they seem to be riddled with a lot of confusion when it comes to legal matters.
Even if he is the best candidate for this post but I think he is very close to retirement they must appoint a younger person.
If only there were young persons available, Malema said there are 5 positions to fill urgently but only two candidates. So even if he is not the best, he is basically the only option they have. People should watch the video before making comments, the title is also misleading.

Lest we are confused, there is no prerequisite to attain a law degree to be a member of the JSC, and if we just undress our coats of naivete, we would accept that the judiciary is a highly political arm of the state,notwithstanding the symbolic governmental effort to cast an independent appearance of the judiciary on society. The president as face of national politics has the prerogative to appoint judges, if that is not indicative that the judiciary is comprised of, and dependant on, politics and political figures clothed with law qualifications, then we, as a society are duped and doomed. The presence of Malema in the JSC comes by virtue of being a member of parliament which is an arm of state charged with legislating for the state, thus malema is not a lawyer much less a practitioner,but he is,by virtue of his parliamentary membership, an author of law. So his presence in the process is as legitimate as any other member.
This is why innocent souls were sent to jail to rot there while brutal and dangerous people are roaming the streets. Incompetent judges

Fortunately for everyone, Malema does Not get to appoint, merely suggest to the president, who has the ultimate prerogative of appointing. The judge is a disgrace as he should be the one who should know that in each and every court an evidence is needed to prove honesty of what your talking about Right now he is telling the interrogatus about the hear says and the assumes where he doesn't produce any evidence of what he is talking about. As a result he should not be treated to be a judge. To tell the truth he is not an honest person, and he is not going to be honest. My suggestion is don't give him the job, and forget about him that you have ever interviewed him period. He is a trouble maker and he will always be a dishonest person.

So, there are 5 posts and only 2 candidates? If that's true then I don't see what's wrong with applying for this job even if you'll work for 6 months. So many 6 months contracts out there. If he is serving this country then he should serve our country and hopefully by the time he retires there would be more candidates.
True, I don't think anyone in the comment section actually watched the video, even the title of the video is misleading. Malema actually said that they need to fill these positions urgently but there is not enough candidates. Lets be thankful that they don't use unqualified people like Eskom and the rest of state owned disasters. I didn't see any incompetence from the judge, although it may seem like it to someone who do not fully understand english.
@@kooskoekemoer from the video, it doesn't seem like his fitness to hold the position is questioned at all. Seems like he is fit and ready, and for some reason Malema thought he was doing it for the money, especially retirement money and the judge corrected that.
People have lost interest from applying because of the insults they endured from some of the panelists
@@kooskoekemoer It is not an issue of "someone" not fully understanding English. The "learned" judge simply didn't want to accept his failure and thus resorted to gerrymandering. It is a simple question of procedure... does a case end without an order, or judgment? He simply left the case in abeyance forever. That's incompetence on his part, only that I do not consider it sufficient to deny him the position that he desires. On the other hand, not answering a straightforward question in a straightforward way is a pointer to his integrity. Wasting 20 minutes to answer a question that should be answered in less than 2 minutes is not a proper way of case management... no wonder he has never delivered a judgment on that case to date.

Malema is asking questions like a reasonable man, but everybody is up for scrutiny to be honest. Give the man the package as the role is unfilled. Google has everybody's files, even Malema's 😂😂. The parties didn't appeal the decision, as people can settle outside court they didn't come back to say they hadn't agreed. Malema doesn't know the process. Judge can repoen the case if not agreeable between parties that's how it works. Judge is not at fault here!

Sitting on other side interviewing candidates, being interviewed yourself and being a judge, is completely different, in any interview you prone to stumble in own words.
