Loved your poem! I just found your channel and subscribed. I am 56, and have thought over 2 years about living t his way, all year around. I love Pennsylvania, also my home state.
Thanks for the comment and subscription. Check out some of my other episodes. I recommend you rent a van and try it out for a week or so first. The. If you like it, go all in. We are summer only vanlifers and still have our house too.
As a native of Pennsylvania, I had no idea that dispersed camping was available. I now live in Idaho, where there are lots of dispersed campsites on National Forest and BLM land. Thanks for the video.
Hello, you spring chicken! LOL. I heard they started charging for all sites in the State Forests now. True? I'm out West but planning on being back soon.
@@thisvantasticlife i doubt it. Probably just the usual of people trashing and vanlifers getting the blame. Sometimes it IS the vanlifers but more often it’s locals. 😥
Yes, I mentioned that in my updated comments below the video and in another YT (episode 41) that I linked to. If you are as mad about this as I am please write to DCNR. The address is in the comments section of Episode 41.
we have a 5th wheel. Would it be inadvisable to unhitch and explore area attractions and leave the 5th wheel at the these locations? Thx for great informational video. Nicely done. Subscribed.
@@carolm8003 I have never felt threatened in any way in any of the state forests. Campsites are dispersed and remote from each other, so not many people would just happen to stumble upon your site. Probably safer than in your typical neighborhood.
Rules vary depending on the forest district but in general you can stay at a site for 7 consecutive days but no more. There is nothing in the regulations about number of times you can rebook. just have to move spots after 7 days.
I just got my Pennsylvania State Parks Passport. I'm ready to start being in every one of them!!
The fishing is really good at Ohiopyle too.
What kind are you catching there?

This is true. Video was made before they charged. I’m actually afraid the popularity of my video was the reason.

As long as you have your permit posted, this should not be a problem at all.
@@thisvantasticlife thanks. I was thinking maybe vandalism might happen way more than at a state park for some reason?

@@thisvantasticlife good to know! Figured it wasn’t really an option to unhook and go sight seeing. Thanks for sharing
Not anymore new rules say you can only camp were they let you in designated sites and you must pay for the sites
What's the location/# of the campsite near the creek in Tuscarora? It's beautiful!
Thanks for the great video, this is really informative and helpful.
Is the $10 fee per night or per 7 days?
The policy is now $10 per night
It's pronounced like Kinzoo. Drop the A
Thanks. I did not know that.
Does anyone know if you can go camp at these places during the off season when you cant make a reservation?
You were circling your cursor around the dark green areas, those are all state forests, the national forest is just to the west in light green.
Thanks Jeff. Still new to making these kinds of vids. I appreciate you watching. Happy travels!
I understand! Keep up the good work!
how often can you rebook the same place?
