This small but powerful film went straight to my heart. The girl's song gave her a freedom that transcended her oppressed and confined life. Bravo, Jafar Panahi. Thanks for giving us this gift!
Merci, Monsieur jafar Panahi.
She sounds like an angel, I'm deeply sorry for the world that will never know her. She should be recorded or at least someone has to contact with my kurd sister's family and confront them to change their mind.
great film, thank you; one gripe: the Persian dialogue is subtitled into French and English but not the Kurdish, nor, especially, the words of the song; that seems a pity to me
What a voice, and what a tragedy, hope this ideology leaves iran and Persian girls free again. We simply can’t hide these talents behind closed doors just because of their gender 🥲
@@anantprakashpandey2106 your name looks Indian. Just out of curiosity: Are you a hindi speaker and if yes, how much Persian do Hindi speakers understand? Just a few words or much more?
@@hansolafsen77 yes I am a Hindi speaker. Persian is generally unknown to a lot of Hindi speakers. We do speak some Persian words unknowingly which are actually a part of our Urdu vocabulary. A lot of Urdu words have their origin in Persian.
Her voice is so beautiful so emotional. I wish the entire world could live free of all religions. She sings like a sparrow, yet her soul is weighed down by Islam.
@@randomserb761 Actually that is not true. I am ex Muslim from Egypt. Sharia law which is the law of the land is not progressive at all. Under Islamic law people like me must be killed for leaving Islam. I had to leave Egypt in order to leave my faith, I would be killed by my family if I lived in Egypt today. Same in Iran you do not leave Islam for another religion it is forbidden. You talk of progressive Muslims but they have no power.

I wish someone could give the translation of the song, or at least the name(in case it's a well-known one).
Heartbreaking, she sounds like an angel.
Heartbreaking......
Panahi never do bad! 🙌🏽
Such a heartbreaking reality

Beautifully made. Reality

Marvellous, very emotional and piteous !!!
Would it be possible to ask her to sing again privately?!! Please

Salam Panahi
Her voice is so beautiful so emotional. I wish the entire world could live free of all religions.
She sings like a sparrow, yet her soul is weighed down by Islam.
Her voice is weighed down by reactionairy traditions. There are plenty of progressive Muslims - Islam in and of itself has little to do with it.

Sa voix me rappelle celle d'Edith Piaf. Tragique...
