      I have a 2-year-old nephew, and I've been thinking something similar. Like, incorporate it to teaching them numerals or counting, to add a little bit of extra fun to it.

      Absolutely 200% do it. A newborn probably won’t understand the mystifying effect you’re going for, but my 6 year old not only loves the tricks I show her but also tries to do her own version of every single one. It’s totally worth it even if you only learn a few basic things.

    Thank you so much. There’s so much in these videos that people starting off can learn and use and make magic fun for themselves and others. More than anything you explain it in a way that’s respectful to everyone. Sleight of hand is wonderful, and these are a great way to get newcomers into bringing joy to people. Please keep this going , all levels. Thank you.

    Jason, what you said is absolutely true. I show theese tricks to my 4 year old and he was stunned. Thanks for the simple magic :) I really like the sleight of hand tricks to watch, but I haven't got the time to perfect it, so for me the simpliest tricks are the best :)

    Jason, you're 100% correct. I've been learning magic to show my grandaughters. They love it! They're always wanting to play with the foam balls. The trouble is the 2yo grandkid is so switched on she's working the tricks out! Thanks for these tutorials, i cant wait until they're old enough to understand card tricks!

    Ah, man! Brings back nostalgia to me, the pseudo double trick, I first saw it from Chris Ramsey, the good old days. I don't know why, after years learning tricks and doing them to friends and stuff it is just good to see people are out there offering teaching to new people and even older youtube binge-watchers to remember those tricks that are good, but you just forgot over time. It is so good, man! Thank you!

  • @apostatereacts
    @apostatereacts 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The first one here is among my favourite effects, Jason! I do some false shuffles and cuts to start, and then a fake mentalism routine to narrow down and "guess" the suit. That reinforces the illusion of choice. I then mix the deck face up and face down, and cover it with a hanky or towel (or whatever) while a spectator starts a 10-second timer with an alarm on their phone.
    I then pretend to *physically* rearrange the deck blind under the covering, within the prescribed time limit. For the reveal, I don't have the suit in new-deck order, so no-one ever suspects a set-up. Instead the spectators and I work together to figure out which one is missing, with me typically getting it wrong the first time, and a spectator pointing out the mistake. Then the final reveal.
    I personally think presenting it as a physical feat rather than "magic" works better, but your version is slick as well, thanks a lot!

Thanks for helping me be the cool "magical" dad for a few minutes at least haha

    I've discovered you through shorts, but your full videos are criminally underwatched.
    First one was nice, but I suspect many of my friends would deliberately choose a card from the middle of the deck. Maybe you can start with a fully sorted deck, keep track from which suit they picked, cut into exactly the four suits and shuffle only the suit chosen face up. Would ofc require some work to make it look natural. Maybe you could first shuffle (bonus points since this shuffle is genuinely a shuffle) two suits (black + red preferably), then add the chosen suit face down and lastly the remaining suit. Also you would need to make sure that they do not pick the kings, or fold the corner of the queen as well.
    Second one was immediately obvious for me, but I guess it works really well for kids.
    Third one is my favorite here. The way you did the trick for the first two "guesses" made me think there is some connection between the cards (although I had no idea how since the deck was genuinely shuffled), but when you did it for the third without looking, I immediately thought that looking at the first pile was only distraction, when indeed it wasn't really distraction but already setup for the next round. The crazy thing is that if you first told me how it works, I would've said it's way too obvious and I would notice immediately, but I absolutely didn't, well done :)

    A nice detail you can do in the end of the first trick is to spread the deck from your right to your left so the pips are correctly facing the spectator and also reads A 2 3 4… from left to right for the spectator…. and not shoving the pips upside down. I allways spread the deck from my right to my left for the sake of the audience

    one more observation. why do these normal cards have those very noticeable lines on two corners opposite to each other? never saw that on regular cards before.
    thanks! great vid! :) 🪄🤹🏽‍♂️🌷🌱
