Wow feels like it was just yesterday when I finished cold steel 4, time really flies by. An epilogue to the cold steel saga and a prologue to the next arc.
Finished this game a few days ago. It was a long journey, playing from Kuro 1 and Sky FC simultaneously, to SC, Zero, Azure (I watched a recap of the 3rd to jump to Crossbell immediately), etc etc. It was a long journey. Many touching scenes, many epic scenes, and epic music. All of this took a year. Was it worth it? Yes, it was.
I just finished trails to azure very recently (currently playing ff16) the amount of excitement i have to FINALLY continue where i left off with cold steel 4 (its been a year and a half maybe even 2 years since i last played cold steel 4!) is astronomical. Words can’t describe the emotions I’m going through right now because we are finally only 1 week away from hajimari releasing over here. Reuniting with class 7 is gonna destroy me emotionally lmao 😂 because thats the group i was with when i first got into the trails series so they all hold a special place in my heart.
So excited for next Friday when Reverie releases! I've been able to avoid most spoilers, only being exposed to a few of the more unexpected party members (may have to do with those sealing doors, who knows) and crafts. Currently working on replaying the last half of Cold Steel 4 to prep for the release. Thanks for setting the stage for its release!
I'm just glad that the Reverie Corridor music is rather soothing. Otherwise I'd have gone mad from the hours and hours of optimizing characters in there!
It's the one thing I didn't like, kitting out a massive bunch of characters gets tiresome. They streamlined it by giving each member their own armour sets, but orbments are another story.
thanks for the video, I'm in chapter 5 of cold steel 1 and I still need to play 2 to 4 before starting reverie but I'm buying the game day one. I started playing the trails series with zero on switch and I can't wait to continue the story
So excited for this! Managed to keep myself completely free of spoilers. Currently doing a replay of CS3+4 to both recap and get the clear data on PC. Only halfway through 3 right now, so it's gonna be tight. Good thing we have an extra day off this week here in the US.
Good time to finish Cold Steel 4 before I play this, well the end of an era for Trails and the beginning of a new, here looking for more awesome stories on Trails going forward.
im currently halfway through cold steel 3 after playing all the other games and loving it! chapter 2 and seeing crossbell again got me nostalgic for a game i played 3 months ago. to say i'm excited for this would be an understatement, but i have to catch up first so i'll see you all at the end soon!
Between CS3+4 and Reverie, i wonder how much of Crossbell has now been done in full 3D. They could probably cobble together Zero purely out of already existing assets.
@@Llortnerof The only major missing areas I can think of are Residential Street, Downtown District, most of West Crossbell Highway, and the border forts. Also, this is nitpicky but the games were always full 3D other than the characters, but obviously the visual fidelity and geometric complexity of the old games is far below the newer ones.
When I started seeing videos going up about Reverie, The Kiseki Nut was the first person I thought about. I simply had to rush over to see what you had to say about it. I absolutely adore this series and it's partly due to you, Kiseki Nut and the amazing fans of these series. Trails fans are the absolute best out there. I've cleared Cold Steel 1 and 2, and Trails from Zero. After clearing Zero, I purchased a Steam Deck which allowed me to finally enjoy the Sky series. I've since complete the first game in the trilogy and is currently plowing through Sky SC. I have a long way to go but I'm enjoying every single minute.
i love this series, dang it listening to the opening is already giving me goosebumps. My only gripe, they didnt focus enough on the relationship between Rean and our choice of Girl (Emma for me) even though they gave us such choice in Cold Steel 1-4.
Just wanna say you folks need to read the end stories for Reverie. Been a while so forgot the translated name of it but those end stories are really good.
I just started it, and that intro scene could easily make an updated top 10 list for Trail moments. They made sure that everyone who's important to the Crossbell arc showed off their English speaking voice and skills. I've always loved trails, but I've never felt so hyped in the first 15 minutes before 😍
Thanks so much. Just the right amount of overview without getting to spoilery. Waiting for my shipping confirmation from NISA for my Limited Edition. And now that I finished Atelier Ryza 3 for now, and played the Crossbell games, I'm diving back into Cold Steel to get geared up for Reverie.
More than likely not too long at all. It just depends on if NISA wants to wait until after Reverie releases or until after Nayuta. My guess is we’ll probably get an announcement within July. A good number of people are going to have been rolling credits on Reverie by then and it would be the best time to announce the next game while hype is high. Hopefully the wait isn’t too long, considering they’ve likely been working on it for a good while by now.
Great video. Looking forward to ending some of these stories. While I never played the Sky trilogy I just replayed all four cold steel games as well finally getting through zero/azure so I feel as ready as I can to dive in. Let’s continue to support this series so we can keep experiencing the greatness in the west!
I agree. Among the protagonists in this series Estelle and the company are my favorite for some reason. So if you want to know how Estelle and Joshua came to become some of the best bracers, then try the Sky Trilogy. It is worth the effort at the end.
its feel nostalgic when i can see crossbell again in beautifull graphic bring back memories when i play crossbell arc on psp thx NISA hope kuro no kiseki 2 have translate soon
SO EXCITED!!!!! It's a day one purchase for sure. I'm going in 100% blind, and while I do have a backlog of two other games that I have to finish before this, at least by the time I hit "Play" the bugs will be 99% gone. THIS IS GOING TO BE BANNANAS!!!!!
No waiting for the sale. Falcom gets 100% of the asking price. It funds more storyline, especially since I know that this is a huge endeavor....given what happened in Sky 1+2...
I can't wait for this for so many reasons, and have the preorder so I am guaranteed a day one copy. Just finished Trails into Azure for the first time after completing the Cold Steel arc. Also interested to what Falcom can do with a new engine and newer hardware.
I am looking forward to Reverie, it does look awesome, while I did play the first Trails in the Sky game. I didn't really get into the series until the Cold Steel games. I just hope w can get the western release of Kiseki within the decade.
Well, time to dive into the crossbell-arc I guess. Only finished the cold steel series and although I dislike the overall "and there is a FAR MORE EVIL muhahahaha"-storytelling esp. at the ending of part IV, the characters and their life-story as well as the connections between all of them made the series in retroperspective really worthwhile.
I'm so excited to play this. I played up to the C route in JP 3 years ago, but I think the language overwhelmed me back then. I will try it again with Kuro 1, now that I have better reading comprehension and listening skills.
As someone who didn't like coldsteel that much, I think the best of Rean's developpment is in that game, same for a mysterious character I won't name for spoilers reasons, I think overall they did a really good job with all coldsteel characters have fun to those who haven't played it yet
Be a long while before I get to this game. Just finished the duology and moving onto Cold Steel. That doesn't stop me though from looking stuff up like crazy for this game. Given I have spoiled myself silly (on purpose mind you) I look forward to actually seeing everything I read about play out now visually.
I remember Suikoden 3 did somthing like that with the story, hawing 3 protags to start with you played all 3 from difrent sides of a story untill it coverged a ways in.
Finished the Crossbell Arc not too long too. Had to put time for FFXVI, but back on the Cold Steel Arc now. Very much looking forward to getting into Reverie eventually. Quality JRPGs ❤
just finished the game. gotta say that Reverie is the one game that I can play over and over and over again. I am gonna be leveling to max and maxing out my equipment. Reverie Corridor is so much fun and takes the past (shit upon despite being a great game) in Sky the 3rd, and made it better. Been a special, special journey. Entire last year I spent my time playing Trails in between work. I played all of Sky, Crossbell and Cold Steel and became completely enthralled. Played Ys games until Reverie came back out. Gotta say I am emotional finishing Reverie because it resembles so much of my love for this franchise. Kuro is coming next but feel like finding Trails has been massive for me in real life. I am going on a tangent but shit, I will never find another franchise ever again that will get me to play 10 connected games played in a row lol. The payout is WORTH IT.
Excited to have this localized very soon. Honestly I'm not sure when I'll actually be able to get around to it seeing that I still have to beat CS4 but I know I'll enjoy both CS4 + Reverie when I manage to refocus on them. I'm stoked to hear it's somewhat similar to sky 3 since I appreciated the sort of epilogue/goodbye to the cast it was. Though for me personally I'm actually more excited for kuro solely to reset the bloated cast. I was feeling it heavily in CS4 which is why I put it down for the moment. Either way I'm hyped for the trails community, let's keep showing Falcom some love!
I'm so excited to get to play Reverie... when I actually finish the Cold Steel Arc. I'm only half way through CS1 though, so it's going to be a bit. Still buying Reverie day 1 though. Edit: 3:10 And now I'm kinda annoyed because my copies of CS 3&4 are on my Switch while Zero and Azure are on Steam.
Before this game is a trails game its an absolutely amazing JRPG. Never has a trails game had this much gameplay related content or such polished systems. The True Reverie Corridor is the best non-story thing to ever happen to Trails. Also very customizable difficulty as well as an actual New game+ that lets you adjust enemies to new game+ level ranges. Its not just a game that tells a story but a game that you can play if you want to play around with the trails combat systems or challenge yourself.
I've recently beat this including the true reverie corridor and apart from the weird story structure until I think act 3 or 4 i loved the game. The gacha bit i didn't mind but that's a part of xenoblade chronicles 2 I absolutely loved.
I've just started ff16 after failing the platinum trophy on Nier replicant but in my defense grinding materials for the weapon upgrades is probably not that bad but I couldn't leave ff16 any longer as I have close to 20 games on PS4/ps5 and another 8 on switch and there's a few collection games in my backlog. But this for me is the most exciting game of the year and that's after future redeemed actually surprised me with ff16 in third place, armoured core 6, super Mario RPG remake and anonymous code are the only other games on my radar.
After beating Azure back in March, I was hoping to get through all of Cold Steel again before Reverie released so I could appreciate the Crossbell-related stuff more, but I got about a third into ToCS2 before Tears of the Kingdom came out, so that isn't happening lol
Crazy how time flies. I remember when Reveries release was 2 years away. I can not wait to play this game in 2 years when I replayed Crossbell and played the latter half of Cold Steel. I have finally Finished Fire Emblem Engage and am now on route to playing more Harvestella. I have realized that ranged combat is the way to go and that the gun guy is the best character because he gives you a shotgun. I love my shotgun. But maybe we will finally get a Kuro release date in the next 2 years. I really want to play Kuro. Better wait for the official release that is totally coming just like Ys X. I hope Adol doesn't crash his boat again.
I've played the geofront patched version of zero and azure. I will buy the new translations through steam, but am planning to play Reverie before I will go through the entire series again from the beginning. Not having a save to set over for zero and azure to reverie, is there much for me to miss out on?
Not that I saw, in some cases it just allows you to choose who you deepened a bond with. I had no carry over and it's not affecting my time with the game.
The first time I played this game brought me so much happiness, it was a bad moment of my life, but Reverie was just like a shelter to me, a long wanted one. The gameplay, the soundtrack and the lore are incredibly relaxing (except for a few times that are going to keep you on your toes) and immersive. I recommend this game to everyone that played Trails, the coalescence of our journey was a beautiful one. ( ´•̥̥̥∇•̥̥̥` )
damn im going to miss my boi rean now knowing this is his last game till who knows when. all i know is theres a game that fie is all grown up. i have to finish cold steel 4 then since this is going to be the epilogue for that game
The long wait is over Trails into Reverie English Edition is finally here The English VA from All Trails Series is ready to reprise alongside the Crossbell Cast as well and enjoy the Trails into Reverie the Grand Finale before Calvard Begins.
I hope Trails to Reverie sold well. I still need to finish CS4 even though I have a general idea of what happens but with how FF16 came out it kind of cast a giant shadow over the Trails series followed by all the problems with the game on launch with skills and whatnot being bugged or errors with the UI. I hope we get the Kuro games as they really do show the series upgrade into the new graphics and new part of the story.
can someone please tell me, with regard to save carry over: I am just starting on my play through of the Trails series. I watched the full recap of Sky trilogy by Lady Virgilia (which is incredibly well done, I must say!) and purchased Zero/Azure for Switch, as I was told the Switch versions are superior. However, my plan from here on out after Azure is to play CS 1-4 and Reverie on my PS5, due to CS 1-2 stupidly not being on Switch. My question is, is this the best way to experience the series at this point, or would I somehow be better off going CS 1-2 on PS, then CS 3-4 and Reverie back on Switch? I would very much appreciate any input!
I'm still going through CS2 (will go back to Sky after this) as a newcomer brought in by the Jessica SI fanfic and comparisons to Rance series finally intriguing me, but I'm looking forward to this eventually. I wish I have a Steam Deck tho because the series feels like a perfect Deck game (likely because of its PSP root). Speaking of, while I do agree the Trails series is pretty special, have you tried the Rance and Evenicle series? Rance is closer to Ys than Trails, but they're a lot more connected than what I've seen of Ys, with lots of recurring cast that has development from the first game to the last game three decades later. And Evenicle is pulling that "New Regions every time, but still interconnected" thing, but it's still trying to find its feet as Rance's spiritual sequel. Still, the first game was great, and the second one is okay if too padded out.
For some reason I already have the game (the game shop I buy from already sold it to me). But I have a question regarding save data. I have the save data for CS4 (ps4 version) but it isnt recognized by my ps5 version of reverie. I still get most of the bonuses, but not the bonuses from a clear save file of cs4.
hello, all this japanese TRAILS on PS4/PS5 games have english language or subs or not ? maybe in configuration menu ? i want tu buy the complete series in Japan next month.
I've bought every Trails game that's been released for Switch. I haven't played a single one yet. I'm really hoping that the Sky trilogy and Trails of Cold Steel 1&2 will come out for Switch, but at some point I'll probably just played them on steam. I know Trails of Cold Steel 1&2 are on Switch already in Japan and Asia, so I have more hope for those coming... But basically I'm not going to play these games until I am able to play them all in order.
Considering it was PH3 who worked on the PC port, no chance. They do amazing work on any port they touch, and I've had no issue with this one nor any of their past projects.
The CLE port has a lot more issues besides crashes. PH3 are port wizards who have already made steam deck compatible stuff with their previous works like Ys Monstrum Nox.
@@veezhang6988 I don't have a steam deck, so can't comment on that. Though I would be confident it would be steam deck verified purely because its worked on by PH3.
As a die hard Trails fan and somebody who played the game about 10 months ago with a certain overlay I am extremely excited to replay it with the english voice cast and full experience the game. It's brilliant and is in my top 5 for sure. Excited for people to experience it for the first time.
At work at the moment, so I'll get to comments later on!
I realise I said we're 2 weeks away from release, but that's because when I had the camera out, it 'was' 2 weeks away. Rest assured, Reverie releases for NA/EU on 7th July.
Thank you to NISA for letting me take part!
I'm glad that the Trails community will finally get to experience this masterpiece.
The die hards played the CLE version years ago though. It's annoying being years behind even persona is world wide release now.
@@gamepeon8038 at least in a week we'll be only 2 games behind versus the 4 plus we have been for nearly 8 years

It was a long journey, playing from Kuro 1 and Sky FC simultaneously, to SC, Zero, Azure (I watched a recap of the 3rd to jump to Crossbell immediately), etc etc.

Note the "beach scene" is censored on PlayStation but seems not to be on PC. Not sure about Switch.
Can wait for this game
I can't wait to dive back into this fantastic game and really enjoy it this time without non stop google translate shenanigan bs ;D
Just for the better hardware, PS5. Depends on what you place more importance on, portability or performance.
( ´•̥̥̥∇•̥̥̥` )
the one thing I'm both grateful and not
the demand of the U-material in this game since building every characters is going to cost too many u-material
Meanwhile I have just played CS1 and CS2 and still considering to play Sky and the Crossbel arc first before procceding to CS3 and CS4
damn im going to miss my boi rean now knowing this is his last game till who knows when. all i know is theres a game that fie is all grown up. i have to finish cold steel 4 then since this is going to be the epilogue for that game
The long wait is over Trails into Reverie English Edition is finally here The English VA from All Trails Series is ready to reprise alongside the Crossbell Cast as well and enjoy the Trails into Reverie the Grand Finale before Calvard Begins.
Fuckk I neeed to get thru all the games
Guys, are the carry-over bonuses worth it? I played all previous games on PC, but this time I'm planning to play this game on PS4
Can i change the audio to japan voice in this localization?
Yeah you can.
I played Zero and Azure on Switch and Cold Steel 3 and 4 on PC. Guess I can’t get an the carry over…
Is it true the japanese limited edition is different than the west? I love the case im sad lol
They are, Japanese one is made by Falcom, western is made by NISA. So they're completely different.
@@TheKisekiNut that makes sense but man the Japanese one looks amazing
I’m so excited!! If Cold Steel III & IV were the INFINITY WAR & ENDGAME of the Trails series then Reverie will be the NO WAY HOME!!!
i have to finish my replay of the cold steel and crossbell games but im so lazy. why did i have to go and lose my save data.
Aww yeah time for the kiseki nuts to rejoin, another western release!
So....still not possible to bend time so I can binge azure to cs4? no? just checking
Avoid the trailers comment section, salty people are spoiling the game
For some reason I already have the game (the game shop I buy from already sold it to me). But I have a question regarding save data. I have the save data for CS4 (ps4 version) but it isnt recognized by my ps5 version of reverie. I still get most of the bonuses, but not the bonuses from a clear save file of cs4.
hello, all this japanese TRAILS on PS4/PS5 games have english language or subs or not ? maybe in configuration menu ? i want tu buy the complete series in Japan next month.
2:15 jesus christ they buffed Ellie so hard
I've bought every Trails game that's been released for Switch. I haven't played a single one yet. I'm really hoping that the Sky trilogy and Trails of Cold Steel 1&2 will come out for Switch, but at some point I'll probably just played them on steam. I know Trails of Cold Steel 1&2 are on Switch already in Japan and Asia, so I have more hope for those coming...
But basically I'm not going to play these games until I am able to play them all in order.
That all lies with XSeed who still holds the licence for Sky and the first 2 Cold Steel games. In short, can't see it happening any time soon.
I thought Lloyd's English voice would sound different.
I got the limited edition with plushies preordered for ps5! Can’t wait. I gotta finish FFXVI before then lol
Just fyi the clouded leopard pc port (Taiwan/Korea version) crashed regularly on steam deck. Not sure if this will occur on the ph3 port as well.
Considering it was PH3 who worked on the PC port, no chance. They do amazing work on any port they touch, and I've had no issue with this one nor any of their past projects.
@@TheKisekiNut have you tested on steam deck? Clouded leopard version also runs good on windows.
