Obama told Trump that new viruses are cropping up because humans are moving into animal habitats and are catching these viruses because we don't have these animals immunity systems. Trump undid a lot of Obama's policies out of vindictiveness.

The Villages is located in southern Florida. They are the ones who get in their golf carts to express their views. Last summer the had a golf cart ‘parade’ for Trump, and a few of the elderly were quite offensive. This turnaround is huge, dramatic and shocking! It must have finally clicked in that Trump wants to end their social security checks.

The heaviness that I have felt is lifting, people are happy, joyful and hopeful. Also, let's not forget DeSantis fired the trained professional statistician who contradict the numbers based on the data and his decre to undercount the number of deaths to keep the state open to all and sundry particularly the greedy businessl owners. Unless you saw the number of refrigerated trucks serving as overflow morgue in hospital parking lots, the scope of the deaths should be questioned.😢😢😢😢😢
I suspect the numbers are much higher - in Australia we counted all those who had other health issues, but Covid was what tipped them over and hence they were counted as Covid deaths, rather than the underlying issues - the best indicator of true numbers is the total deaths compared to historical averages ... xx

I live in Southern Alabama, very close to Florida’s Gulf Coast. This is a very red area. I don’t think Florida will be blue just yet, but slowly it might turn again. It’s definitely becoming more purple and places like Orlando are very blue. But by all means I hope you’re right and the entire state follows suit. One thing I’m definitely noticing here is the void of Trump signs and stickers. 2016 this was Trump Disneyland. I also see a lot of Reagan T-shirts. It makes me think they are missing the old GOP, again not good sign for Republicans. So we will see. But this blue dot in a red state is feeling hopeful. I can’t remember crying this much watching a Democratic convention ever. Gus Walz’s reaction to his dad was one of the most wholesome things I have witnessed in politics. Hope this turns out. I've been in Florida since 1970. North Florida is essentially the same as Georgia and Alabama. Back when Obama was elected, I was up in North Florida and when in a restaurant at the time, there was one guy who made sure everyone there knew his opinion of a black man being president. When Trump was elected, there were plenty of bumper stickers that said "Jesus is my God and Trump is my President." To turn that part of the state blue, may require some spiritual energy similar to that Bible story of what knocked Saul off his horse on the way to Damascus. But anything is possible. 😁

I suspect the numbers are much higher - in Australia we counted all those who had other health issues, but Covid was what tipped them over and hence they were counted as Covid deaths, rather than the underlying issues - the best indicator of true numbers is the total deaths compared to historical averages ... xx

I live in Southern Alabama, very close to Florida’s Gulf Coast. This is a very red area. I don’t think Florida will be blue just yet, but slowly it might turn again. It’s definitely becoming more purple and places like Orlando are very blue. But by all means I hope you’re right and the entire state follows suit. One thing I’m definitely noticing here is the void of Trump signs and stickers. 2016 this was Trump Disneyland. I also see a lot of Reagan T-shirts. It makes me think they are missing the old GOP, again not good sign for Republicans. So we will see. But this blue dot in a red state is feeling hopeful. I can’t remember crying this much watching a Democratic convention ever. Gus Walz’s reaction to his dad was one of the most wholesome things I have witnessed in politics. The other side looks like The Hunger Games Capitol in comparison to the joy, love and family values Democrats are displaying 💙🇺🇸

Hope this turns out. I've been in Florida since 1970. North Florida is essentially the same as Georgia and Alabama. Back when Obama was elected, I was up in North Florida and when in a restaurant at the time, there was one guy who made sure everyone there knew his opinion of a black man being president. When Trump was elected, there were plenty of bumper stickers that said "Jesus is my God and Trump is my President." To turn that part of the state blue, may require some spiritual energy similar to that Bible story of what knocked Saul off his horse on the way to Damascus. But anything is possible. 😁

I having been watching it all on Kamala Harris's YT channel since I have no TV. Libby, if you would like to watch it, it is live streamed, with no cuts or someone kibbutzing about what's going on. Tonight is the last night! I have cried or teared up each night, as well as being so proud to be a Democrat! I feel we in Texas also have a chance of turning blue, if only they don't cheat because I feel strongly that Beto won in 2022.
Oh my gosh! I love in Utah and thought Beto won as well. I was completely shocked the next day when the announced the POS as winner! I felt like the Republicans cheated on that one.
They certainly did cheat - Paxton has publicly stated that they would've lost the State if he hadn't prevented mail in ballot from being sent out during the pandemic
Quick note; Over 89,000 people died of COVID in Florida. COVID was severely mismanaged by the toxic orange troll and our overall death rate was tragic. So sad for all who lost loved ones!
That's only the ones counted - De Santis ruled that if someone died from another cause, even tho Covid was the tipping point, it had to be counted as the other cause ... the best way to compare is to look at the historical death rates, the average versus the period during Covid ... the real number is closer to 120,000
