I am a minister and I speak all over America and nations around the world. These classes have impacted and influenced my speaking in a positive and well rounded way....Thank You
I am in Ghana and experienced Christmas here and was surprised by all of the “Merry Christmas’” I received. But then I thought about it and was no longer surprised. I explained it to my 12-year old daughter who is traveling with me, the reason why. It was further confirmed for my child during our tour of the British-run Cape Coast Castle. Excellent lesson today, as always. As I prepare to return to the States, wishing everyone a Happy Kwanzaa (Day 7- Imani) and Happy New Year! 🙏🏾
Yes, the power of colonialism is always on display in Africa. The Ghanian people have such beautiful spirits. The underlying desire for you and your daughter to have a beautiful time and life powers those greetings, even though the experience of colonialism attempted to bend our Ways of Knowing to serve corroding and obscuring objectives. The visit to the dungeons at Cape Coast is no passing experience. Thankful that you shared a moment of your journey with us, and that you are standing on the continent as 2023 opens. Much love and respect: Travel safely!
What made me smile since time was the first topic is that there were quite a few times Dr. Carr said some version of "before we leave" and then proceeded to take us down another glorious rabbit hole. . How this man continues to give so much in each sentence never ceases to amaze me.
Asante Sana! We have unlimited access to a universe of our experiences. It is a true blessing as we open 2023 to be able to be among the growing number of us who connect and share, building our "we" one step at a time. I too am amazed at the connections we have made and sustained over the years. They are there for us to remind ourselves of and renew. Grateful to be able to help us do that a little bit, and mindful of the responsibility to improve.
They laugh in the wrong places a lot. Again most of my life I have wondered ...is it me?! I could cry at how heart warming and heart affirming the Knarrative and Knubian spaces are. THANK YOU.
Greetings Class. Thank you all. Our collective energy/ spirit to be here every Saturday is empowering. We are connected because our hearts our open enough to allow the truth to be shared / heard . ❤
Professor Hunter how do I give a medal to Dr. Carr. As a almost 70 year old I have never been exposed to such a brilliant mind. My new year resolution is to visit my local library to obtain the plethora of books Dr. Carr presents each week. Some I will continue to Order but my retirement does not allow me to order all. I’m serious about the medal You both are more than just TH-camrs to me. Peace and light for the new year.
I migrated to Portugal and I noticed time is not as important here. I know this country has a complicated history with our people. I love the countries with you and Dr Carr. I am learning so much about African studies. Thanks to your committent to delivering the truth. I speak about you often to my friends.
Happy New Year!!! Professor Hunter and Dr. Carr. I first met Dr. Carr on Black History Month at Essex County College in Newark N.J with Dr. Leonard Jefferies. Beautiful Brother!!!
Another beautiful episode and listening to the dialogue of Professor Hunter and Dr Carr the master teacher himself. Happy New year and blessings to all for 2023 🖤❤️💚✊🏿
Good Morning and I welcome the last Class of this year it's been 3yrs and I have not missed one class through the pandemic until now and it's been great so I want to thank you Professor Karen Hunter and Dr Greg Carr and welcome to the new year 2023 and let's get ready for this 🤡 show with these republicans in 2023
If I show up before the live broadcast begins, I scroll through the comments because that's where the Community is as we await Prof. Hunter and Dr. Carr joining us for the full conversation. Grace
Hello, family- Thanks to these two incredible human beings - Prof Hunter & Dr. Carr, y'all making it make sense. The good, bad and indifference. Rock on!🎉
Karen and Greg, Habari Gani? May your day unfold like a beautiful rose. And may the Creator's love help to keep you composed. Be blessed & joyful. Love the 2 of U.😊 Charles
I’m one plus day away from inaugural Monday Class! I’ve waited patiently for this opportunity and as I closeout 2022… simply thank you for using this platform to provide a place for me to creatively grow my understanding and appreciation for the community-in-diaspora. Thank you for doing the work and welcoming others to join you. #Finish2022STRONGER!!!
Thank you, Prof. Hunter and Dr. Carr for this extra special Episode 147 of "In Class With Carr"... it's the end of the week ... the end of the month and ... the end of year!! I couldn't choose a better place to end my final Class for 2022 than with you, enjoying the 'nuggets' y'all are dropping!! Respect shoutout to our ancestor, Pele, 'King of the Beautiful Game'! May he Rest Easy in Power and Peace!!💐 Our brother was a champion of sports for those like himself and an inspiration to the less fortunate in his community and the world at large!! Love how y'all keep it real each week in Class!! Btw, I see Dr. Carr has a serious chance at singing as a side hustle, lol! Love the melodies he makes!!🎶🎼🎵 Blessings to you both for a wonderful New Year 2023!! 🙏🏾🖤💯
In accordance with my conditioning, Happy New Year everyone!🤣🙏🏽🤗 I was always aware of the strangeness of time obsession in the "western world". The level of superiority satisfaction they feel and the peer pressure of being prompt is strange, period! Grace is a tool we should excercise daily, wonderful class as always. Thank you!
Habari Gani Sister Karen. It is a blessing to be amongst the living...at least a certain portion of them anyway. Lol I just called to say I❤U. And I mean it from the bottom of my heart. And as a big brother, I extend those same sentiments to our brother Greg. What's love got to do with it, you may ask? My answer, EVERYTHING! It is the key to our corporate success. As Bill Withers would say, (have) 'A Lovely Day.'
Greetings to my two favorite educators..Prof. Hunter and Dr. Carr ❤️ I love y’all thissssssssss much💕 Happy Kwanza! Peace, Blessings and Love! “Black-Red-Green” = “Our People-Blood Shed-Prosperity” 🖤❤️💚 Thanks for caring enough to share your knowledge and wisdom weekly, with our Knubian Family!!!
Dr. Hunter & Dr Carr I greet you with love , happiness, joy and pray that 2023 lift all of us up into more enlightenment & knowledge of ourselves. Thank you both for being the impetus and guides for leading many of us out of the fog of cultural confusion in Amurdikkka to reality of our African heritage & freedom. May you be eternally blessed. Shukran. May we all move forward together my fellow Knubians. The struggle continues.🤲
This is so rich, when we are called 'African - American' it reveals the psychological, social and cultural wrestle and tension that we deal with. Thank Dr.Carr and Ms. Hunter
In Mogobe’s book on Ubuntu and ‘African philosophy ‘ he elaborates on this western and African notion of time. I’m paraphrasing but in short: in the west we live IN time, meaning time makes us do things etc ( dr.Carr’s example of the bell a clear reflection of that idea). Whereas the African philosophical idea is to live ‘through’ time. Meaning, one ‘makes’ time etc. A clear and significant difference. 🙏🏿 Blessings from Amsterdam!
Jan 01:6:00 pm. London England 🙏🏿. Happy New Year🙏🏿. Thank you for enlightening me and sharing your knowledge. I really enjoy your class each week. Lots of love 🇧🇧🇦🇬
Good afternoon 😊 great #inclasswithdrcarr...yes the Ethiopian ppl celebrate Christmas in January...because my neighbor who's Ethiopia saw me decorating my house for Christmas...I ask him if he celebrate he told me in January
Hello 👋 beautiful people thank u both for taking time and efforts to keep educating us as you none stop I truly appreciate. Grace and Peace ✌ Have a blessed and healthy amazing New Year. ❤️🙏👍
*Professor Hunter and Dr. Carr thank you for allllllllllllllllllll the incredible information, education, and infotainment (Dr. Carr's singing🎵, always tied to an enlightening experience.)* *HAPPY NEW🎊🍾🎊 YEAR TO THE ENTIRE FAMILY💕!*
(A Prayer for Karen and Greg) Universal God who loves us more than we will ever know, we call upon you to lift up our precious Sister Karen and our tremendously wise Brother Greg. Grant unto them clarity of mind as they continue to fill the atmosphere with wisdom. And bless our African spirits to receive the jewels of knowledge which proceed from their lips. May the grace that Sister Karen desires be provided her in abundance. And may that grace manifest itself by making more potent her Princess warrior spirit. And as for our Brother Greg, may he continually be transformed into pure energy, pure focus, pure understanding. Bless this Mighty People today and undergird us with your love which manifest itself in UNITY. Ase`
Thank you dr Carr and Prof Harris, happy New Year to you both another great class. See you all in 2023 looking forward to my continued education. Blessings all
Glad you assessed. I've been late for work because I had a conversation with an older person, a neighbor who was struggling, and just a sincere discussion that brought me connection and joy....who owns time and whose right is it to put barriers around it. I've given more of my living/waking hours working for someone taking my time...they paid me, but not what the time was worth.
My 4th grade/the 1st white teacher assigned us to create a family tree. My grandmother was irritated, but gave me all the information up to her grandparents. With genealogy sites, African DNA, and death records, was able to trace my maternal ancestors to the Mende of Sierra Leone. So far only able to identify my paternal great-great grandparents. Get all the you can while they remember. Identify people on old photographs so that future generations don’t ask “who is that?”.
African American Jazz musician Valadia Snow was in Denmark when she was caught up in the concentration camp. She survived but was never the same (obviously) after returning to the states. She went through all of that trying to find work she couldn't get in her own country.
Thanks for that. I remember finding out about her after listening to The Karen Hunter show on SiriusXM years ago when she mentioned the Rhineland in Germany and doing research on that. Listening to Professor Hunter and Dr Carr has caused me to go down many a rabbit hole - they are the best!
Happy New Year Professors! I would like to give a particular shout out to Dr. Carr for his comments on Whoopi Goldberg on Roland Martin. The lesson was not lost on me and will be shared with family members. Looking forward to sharing 2023 with you both.
Class is stimulating and full of detailed knowledge about matters that I have heard about but never had this detailed knowledge about. Absolutely impactful to me and my peoples. Live and learn. Thank you professors and a prosperous 2023 to you.
As I reflect upon the impact that Dr. Carr and Prof. Hunter's teachings have had on my life, the word "reading" comes to mind. If "mental orgasms" exist, then your petting of my cerebral cortex is causing the aforementioned 'thrills' to be reoccurring. But all jokes aside, the clean and pure mental stimulation that I receive each week from your teachings and through the conversations that you have between yourselves, is unmatched (when compared with other present day offerings). I thank you for that. And in my efforts to not be unduly judgemental, I attempt to ingest each offering on a case by case basis -- harvesting the wheat and relinquishing the chaff. In 2023, "Where Do We Go From Here?" Dr King asked the question. And ironically, it was a group of white boys who sang a song that echoed a similar sentiment (as is found in the title of Dr. King's book) when they sang "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For." The beauty of the 'journey' that we've embarked upon is (for me) that it will NEVER end. Even after we overwhelm and conquer our current enemy (which, in my estimation, is a slowly dying nightmare called "self-doubt"), there will be newly crafted challenges designed uniquely for Africans everywhere. But never fear, we were created by a Potter whose omniscience, omnipresence and omnipotence is unmatched. And we possess the exact same Universal DNA!
When the student is ready, the teacher arrives on time. Thank you for being punctual. I'm not referring to Chronos time, but to Kairos time. The blessings are already here, and you are a part of it. Keep shining.
We shine together, yes! So interesting: I'm reading a new book on this subject by Francois Hartog entitled "Chronos: The West Confronts Time." Hartog traces how early European Christians grappled with the concept. And yes, we align Chronos with Kairos time!
My dear grandmother, “mudda “ long time an ancestor, always told us to “make time”. I know tell my grandchildren the same thing. Interestingly I just saw an advertisement on TV and the question asked was “ how did the maker of the first timepiece know what time it was” 😊🇧🇧🇦🇬
Happy New Year🎉. I have a request, could you please speak on Dr. Frances Welsey. I listen in often, and I have not heard you speak about her. Back in the 70’s she taught about why the Caucasian feel the way they do being 1/10 of the globe. Don’t let her work go unnoticed. Thank you.
I am a minister and I speak all over America and nations around the world. These classes have impacted and influenced my speaking in a positive and well rounded way....Thank You
Go with God my brother. His love will NEVER fail you. You are not alone. We are family. We are ONE. 😊
Jesus! This man drops pure gems of knowledge.
If we ain’t got nobody to help us recover our memory, we have Dr. Carr! Thank God for Dr. Carr & Prof Hunter🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

and as long as you do the work, I don't see a problem (other than control).
My grandparents transitioned when I was a teenager… I wish I had the presence of mind to ask them questions about their lives & their parents lives
Dr. Carr, Professor Hunter, congratulations on Ep 147!! You are wealth of information, you are appreciated, kudos.
We appreciate each other! We're doing this moment by moment, together!
Thank you. Period.
You are so welcome.
My 4th grade/the 1st white teacher assigned us to create a family tree. My grandmother was irritated, but gave me all the information up to her grandparents.
