Phil thank you this is wonderful! The history of Catholicism during this period is not known well even by Catholics. We must get to know this period. I am reading a wonderful book by Robert Hugh Benson called "By What Authority" which is truly great. There are some books, however not many of John Gerard, Edmund Campion and Robert Persons which are available if you can hunt them down.
Read The Stripping of the Altars by a Cambridge prof. It really explains what life was like for ordinary ppl who kept having to "switch religions" from day to day.

I know, right? Isn’t just APPALLING when someone goes out of their way, spending their money and time (two people’s time in this instance), providing people with FREE content, to not do exactly what you think is right? I think your rude comment was totally justified. #peoplewhoworkinhistorysharerudecomments
Sounds like a perfect reason to visit the hall! The ticket price will help support the important work of maintaining this rare building! A win all around 🙌
Perhaps you could silently say a Hail Mary near an abortion clinic and then use the priest hide. (Kidding. Not kidding). It’s still a bit dangerous to be a loyal Catholic in England.
So you’re not interested in learning about the house? There is plenty of images and video of the inside of the house inter-spliced in the video. This was also a lovely backdrop for my conversation with Phil. You’re welcome.
Amazing! how creativity works to find solutions to problems. Difficult times for us catholics. Thanks for the a nice and informative video.
It's VERY amazing. My wife and I walk from Kiddy to Harvington Hall several times a year, it's always a lovely day out with a lot to see.
Fascinating. Very cool. Thank you 😊
Glad you enjoyed it Candice 😀

@@billTO Yes. Excellent book, thank you. Everyone needs to know this history.
So cool
Following his time in the priest hole via Twitter today/tomorrow!
His updates are fascinating aren’t they - what he’s realising about the noise even shifting slightly, makes?!

36 hours! The priests must have spent most of their time in prayer...
….and of course, the Priests in hiding would have no idea how long they’d have to be in there. 😳
Was filming inside the house not allowed? Disappointing.
Except the filming from inside the house included?…..
18 min video and you you only see .05% of the house.
