    Jeff, another wonderful Heathkit video..very educational. My Heathkit test equipment collection has grown quite a bit since reviewing all your videos! The ham and electronics community really appreciates all of your efforts! Jeff, N5ITU

    Great video, I just bought one 100% stock. I have a somewhat silly question, what’s the finish on the faceplate. I don’t seem able to get a perfect finish. Has a haze look to it, almost smudged. Anyway thanks for the video, my 5 Heathkit product.

      It's a matte (not shiny) finish. Possibly yours was cleaned at some point with a solvent that smudged the paint?

      @@jefftranter Thanks that makes, because is hazy which then you could call matte. Then I’m happy with the look. Thanks for the reply. I just ordered your book.

    Thanks for the video. Do you know what is the exact replacement candalebra bulb for this unit? It just says 3W 115V, but no info on the type?

    Excellent video, Jeff. Do you ever sell any of your vintage Heathkit products?

    • @jefftranter
      @jefftranter  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +sebastianhamilton In short, no. If I had something I didn't need I might sell it on eBay.

    What are saw tooth and square wave useful for? Thanks!

    • @jefftranter
      @jefftranter  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Square waves are useful for checking the frequency response of amplifiers.They are also useful in digital circuits for clock signals. Sawtooths are less common but are used in circuits for vertical and horizontal deflection on cathode ray tubes (e.g. television and oscilloscopes), switching power supplies, and they are sometimes used in electronic music.

    Great video, what do yoou think a fair price would be for one, I found one for 60$

      You can look on eBay to see some selling prices there. They range from about $20 - $100, with most around $30. One in excellent condition with manual would sell on the higher end of the range.
