LPG made up of mostly Propane & Butane has very low boiling point (-42 degree Celsius). These gases are highly flammable and therefore special equipment on special ships is required for their carriage at sub zero temperature.
Jag Vasant video will give an insight about drydocking a gas carrier and how they are different for the rest of the vessel technologically and other wise.
This is a follow-up video to the previous video "Art of the dry dock", highlighting the gas carrier from a drydock perspective.
The video goes into the belly of the gas carrier the vessel including holds and cargo tanks investigating the overhaul of the cargo pump, relief valves, void spaces and that s required to keep LPG in liquid form - the biggest challenge in carriage.
