Christmas Prayer
Lord, in this holy season of prayer and song and laughter, we praise you for the great wonders you have sent us: for shining star and angel's song, for infant's cry in lowly manger. We praise you for the Word made flesh in a little Child. We behold his glory, and are bathed in its radiance.
Be with us as we sing the ironies of Christmas, the incomprehensible comprehended, the poetry made hard fact, the helpless Babe who cracks the world asunder. We kneel before you shepherds, innkeepers, wisemen. Help us to rise bigger than we are.
Amen.

I celebrated Christmas by hanging our old decorations on a tree in a camping ground with personal messages for everyone on the road. My feast was an Aunt Betty's Whiskey and Chocolate Plum Pudding as I curdled my legs into the cramped spaces of my car I chose to live in. I couldn't bring myself to buy too much food knowing full too well, the global poverty statistics despite the culling of funds by the Australian Government. In the world we live, some of us choose to have more opposed to less and the greater the demand, the higher the risk of creating more people trapped in the corridors of poverty.
