- Fabio Frizzi - Lucio Fulci's Zombie (aka Zombi 2) - Theme [Extended & Remastered by Gilles Nuytens]
This is an extended & remastered version of the Main Theme of the movie « Zombie » (1979) by Fabio Frizzi. This movie has had MANY different names depending on the location or release making this thing very messy and hard to comprehend: Sanguella, The Island of the Living Dead, Zombie Flesh Eaters, Zombie, Zombie: The Dead Walk Among Us, Gli Ultimi Zombi, Woodoo, L'Enfer de Zombies, Zombie 2: The Dead Are Among Us and Nightmare Island... All these names for 1 single movie! Crazy!
This is the original music, not a remix! This isn't a "loop" either, at least not a "basic loop": it's been rearranged to sound like it's an original track. I have also improved the sound to make it more clear and sound better.
Legal notes: I do not own this music! All rights remain to Fabio Frizzi.

It's a 10 minutes new edit with the full missing music and almost without any SFX!

I Got all the great Zombie movies since 1968 ( flesheating Zombie Type ) George a. Romero 👀💯❤is my Idol ! I'm 54 years Old Bro, greetings 😃🤘🤘🤘👻
You did a fantastic Good job 👍 👏
Thank you for sharing. Fulci and Frizzi have produced excellent works.
Fulci went a little bit further than George Romero: he incorporated the historical zombie from voodoo religion along with the apocalyptical zombie we're used to watch in movies.
Actually nothing in the movie was historical. It was entirely done by a post-colonial mindset of the cultures of the Haitian people lmao and ultimately dehumanises or makes the black cast of the film seem either subservient or evil
They’re probably only “subservient” because their only hope of ridding themselves of the zombies is the scientist Menard... sooooo......
It Was voodoo zombies (the original zombie) witch is why they're eyes are closed. Kudos to the OP for realising.
You all prolly dont care but does anybody know a tool to log back into an instagram account??
I was dumb forgot my password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
@Christopher Lennox Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im in the hacking process now.
I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
"I've just received word that zombies have entered the building. They're at the door! They're coming in! AAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"
And the building overran while the people inside became a happy meal for the zombies.
@@wraithofaviciand the zombies begin to make their way to NYC or LA something like that
What a shame that such a shocking ending was presented with a few zombies going over a bridge and a radio broadcast that sounded like a 40s melodrama.
I liked how this theme wasn't overly dramatic but gave more of a feeling like "we're really screwed" which they were. Such a sense of dread from a more upbeat track.
Felt the same here
The boat can leave now! Tell the crew !
The boat can leave now. Tell the crew...
This music is so extremely scary..
It remembers me the most scary moment of my life.
I was 11 years old and I watched alone at home late at night this extraordinary zombie movie.
I had stolen the VHS videotape from my brother knowing I was going to be home alone. Our house was at the time in the middle of the forest.
I couldn't move
I was stunned by fear.
Today I tell myself what an extraordinary experience I had that day.
good god was you scarde
In retrospect I think we miss the ability to get the scared again. There's something innocent and magical about it. I yearn for those days.
I watched it when I was 17 and feel in love with it because that's when I was getting into Zombie films.
@@anthonyrippa686 It is uplifting because it is written from the point of view of the zombies who are clearly winning.
This Music Isn’t Scary. it’s The Most Kickass Music For a Horror Movie Ever!
Most zombie films today are fast paced actions flicks, and, while theirs nothing wrong with a good edge of your seat thriller something about this film is so foreboding and dreadful that is really creeps me the way the zombies just walk slowly with a blank expression like death itself has infected everyone, not fast paced human like super monsters, but actual living corpses slowly walking towards you.....absolutely terrifying.
Zombie movies shouldn't have fast monsters but to each his own I guess.
The sheer dread of zombies is while they are slow their numbers are rapidly increasing up to a point where there is literally no avoiding them.
True terror if you ask me.
That is what makes this film great, the dread and being kept in the dark a little.
My guess would be that voodoo had a part in the outbreak but we will never be sure, great flick though which set the standard of what zombies should look like.
@@fredwest7436 Exactly zombies and atmospheric horror at it's finest. Also the gonk scene in dawn of the dead was pretty dark and dreadful.
@@scarcelyjumpy7613 Also a classic movie which also made clear that zombies aren't the only threat.
That and basic human stupidity.
In Burial Ground people were stating that since the zombies were so slow they might as well let them in since they could easily outrun them :-)
@@fredwest7436 Good zombie films explore the human condition like day of the dead which was very philosophical; especially in the first half.
@@scarcelyjumpy7613 Logan as the mad scientist and Rhodes , who probably saw a fascist dream come true both had issues but they were truly showing us that mankind was doomed indeed.
To be honest, Rhodes might still have had hope that he could save the world while Logan seemed to regard the facility as a playground where he hoped to redeem himself for his crossdressing as a child by finding a cure.
I liked the original story however where Romero apparently had the idea of scientists finding a way of finding a way to let the zombies fight themselves.
This movie needs more attention... they don’t even realize how good it really is
I know. It really surprises me how this movie isn't way more known.

one of the best soundtracks ever!!! this is a masterpiece and full of harmony!!!
Frizzi would be proud
This truly is my favourite Zombie theme. Listening to it, you really feel like the world is coming to an end.
Although THE BEYOND is my favorite Lucio Fulci film, this has the best soundtrack and set pieces. The
splinter-to-the-eye scene... just BROKE me!!!
I remember the first time I saw this film it was uncut and I kept thinking my god what next, never forgot it.
Fulci had a way of filming sweaty, gritty, grueling horror
One of my friends told me this movie's special effects are cheesy. Yes, a woman's eye being splintered and ripped out is cheesy. Someone getting their throat ripped out or a massive chunk of their arm being bitten off is cheesy. The undead conquistadors rising looking extremely mummified with worms and maggots in their eye sockets and mouths is cheesy. I told her she's about as wrong as a movie critic and movie critics wouldn't know good special effects if it slapped them in the face.
I agree with you, man.
Cheesy or just badass, cmon😅
I remember watching this movie as a kid and that eye splinter scene has still stuck with me all these years. It's very effective stuff!
The practical effects in this film are AMAZING. Better than CGI ANY DAY! I will die on this hill with you!
There are one or two effects that are showing their age but on the whole the film holds up remarkably. The scene where they find Mrs Menard’s body being eaten is absolutely repulsive to this day!
"I've just been informed zombies have entered the building. They're at the door! They're coming in! AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!"
The end the end of the world
Exceptional work! In my opinion, this is the best zombie theme ever composed.
One of the best movie titles ever.
A True Masterpiece
Bravo Fabio Frizzi. Bravo Lucio Fulci.
Btw, this is the most impressive Zombi movie in history.
I saw the movie twice in Original Cinema in late 1979 in Switzerland.
I listen to this more than I care to admit. Glad to have a cleaner-sounding version to listen to now.
It may be my favorite horror movie theme. The sound is industrial (not the genre industrial) like steam coming out of pipes, and a sense of toxic mist that would choke you if you were in it. It runs parallel with what a zombie is: A monotonous being that roams aimlessly, but has one thing driving it (in this case, feeding). An empty husk of unliving parts that exists unnaturally.
This is definitely one of my favorites (favorite being the main theme for Halloween). I really love how its almost pure synth sounds and the tune is overall very easy to hum or whistle to.
0:46 just amazing.
In my opinion the best zombie film with the best score
bruh, THANK YOU!!! YOU UNDERSTAND
Seeing Fabio Frizzi perform the soundtrack live in San Diego in 3 days, I will cry!!! A literal dream come true
That soundtrack is kind of national anthem of hell .
I remember my white homie showed me this movie back in 2010-2011 because I’m a zombie geek and I first heard this theme I was like 😮😂. This the best theme in zombie history hands down
A friend showed me this movie like 30 years ago and all I remember was this theme.
That "splinter to the eye" scene still hits me right down to my balls! Great film, great theme!
The greatest zombie film out of all films containing such an element 👻
Zombie vs Shark, probably the greatest individual movie scene ever
Not gon lie it caught me off guard at first watched it on here then got me it’s actually dope u don’t usually see zombies at it with anything else but people and brains , now I got this movie on Apple TV a clear version of the fight I love zombie movies but holds on on the top list Italian horror at that …
I feel like a modern day bring back of this movie is necessary. Someone toys with or desecrates a corpse of a voodoo witch or shaman in the caribbeans, maybe a researcher relocates a body of someone buried alive long ago for unknown reasons and doesn't realize the curse of the body they have with them. This voodoo spreads in the city, and expands, slowly. People don't understand what they hear when morgues say people get up and walk. A nurse treats a person with an infection who dies and soon reanimates to her horror. A firefighter battles flames inside a neglected house and sees something shuffle towards him through the smoke and fire. A group of teens toys with a homeless groaning man and realize the threat when he bites one of them; then a phone's flashlight, they see the death in the zombis eyes. The city recognizes a horror they never thought possible. A local panic soon sweeps into national effort trying to stop it. But it inevitably spreads. People search for appeasement or reason, and only find this is a curse they can't stop. They are coming.
I played this at my sister's wedding Lol People were dancing 😅
Good man
Is this a "Shaun of the Dead" reference? 👍🏻😇😀
Yeah ......I want to eat big juicy steak. Lots of red sauce
This theme reminds of something that John Carpenter would come up with. My God! the horror movie themes from this era were legendary.
This is so peaceful in a scary way
this is so scary , in a peaceful way
It's the perfect mix of dread, horror, hope and peace
This is actually quite uplifting hopeful music imo. Listen to it in the car. The minor zombie keys aside (and they're great), the major keys are quite motivating.
The song sounds positive because it symobolizes the perspective of the zombies who are taking over the world and not the humans who are being hunted down.
City of the Living Dead has a similar theme, called "Mystery's Apotheosis," which I think sounds a lot more uplifting. This has a more depressing feeling before transitioning to a "we got to get out of here/we'll survive this."
Best Zombi movie ever and one of the best Soundtracks ever
I agree with you. It is very disturbing but also fascinating and interesting.
Zombie was one of my first Zombie films I ever saw I remember renting it with my friends at our local video store back in 2001 when VHS was on its way out. We all loved it and has been one of my favorite zombie films of all time.
Huge Fulci fan, the Italian master of horror
A masterpiece! Amazing work from Frizzi the arrangement, production, tone, everything is just spot on, as good as any horror main theme in my opinion - outstanding!
Great show live with Fabio here in fresno it was incredible.
brilliant, its a scary and somewhat sad theme. almost sets the tone if zombies came after us:)
I still love that composition. Makes u wanna dream. Its so long ago i watched lucio fulci movies...
Put this music over me waking up in the morning and walking out of bed to get coffee.
accurate for me. i did it this morning laughed every second.
Another most favorite movie soundtrack ever on my list. This is such a timeless classic.❤❤❤
It’s just full of absolute dread….still gives me chills, love it!
Anybody else thinks this glorious theme could be a piece on a Sega Genesis game? Maybe thenfirst level of Altered Beast
that is genius, yes somebody make it happen with a mod :D Cheers
Its the king of zombie. A good zombie plot is that there is NO specific reason why the dead walks. They just do😂
Very true, sometimes things just are what they are

This theme, plus Tangram by Tangerine Dream are what first made me want to create music. Great stuff, thanks for sharing and bringing back great memories.
Wow, after this many years, you go through the effort of making this? THANK YOU!!!
love everything Zombie, im 49. I talked my dad into renting out dawn of the dead about 1980 from the video shop. I wanted Flesheaters but they said it was too violent and recommended dawn of the dead instead. The trailer before it was Rabid.....got to the bit with the Zombie biting a chunk of flesh from the girls shoulder and was in hysterics with fear.....father shouting 'turn that fucking off!!!' my son is now 15 and father long dead......Ive been showing him dawn of the dead since he was 2. He laughs and says its just 'blue men' they are basically shit............Its nice getting older.
That's awesome. Nice that a schlocky zombie flick can bring people together.
The scariest zombies i ever seen modern movies got nothing on older horror movies 🔥

Great score from Lucio Fulci's masterpiece. Accurately describes the shambling cannibalistic undead👍

Yep
Same. Day of the dead. I don't know why the majority of people prefer other lame zombie movies. The performances of the actors in this one, especially the zombie actors were right on point.
This soundtrack is my alarm clock and at the same time it is my ringtone on my cell phone. I love it!
Zombie is one of my favorite horror movies of all time
When this trailer was shown in the theater the crowd went nuts. Opening night was crazy!!!
I played it this at the morgue of hospital and dead bodies begin to rise up from the bed.
no way
"We rise, again."
"We are doomed!"
"Crank that stuff up and no one gets hurt!"
I would absolutely love that...
Very cool idea 👌
this guy totally needs to extend the theme song for Suspiria (1977) by Goblin
Yessir!!
yesss. thank you for the extended mix. This was one of my favorite songs as a little girl.
Hell yea and still is the best soundtrack
the song is catchy, scary, but somehow also hopeful sounding. very memorable!

Lucio fulci
Yeah
This movie was such an amazing classic of the zombie genre. The great practical and makeup effects, the zombies in this movie were scary in appearance with the rotting combined with the music with the scenes had a grim or sad feel with certain impending doom. These effects look better over constant using of CGI. Unnerving hearing them occasionally making those noises and with their slow advancing. Cheesy moments but that doesn’t mean bad at all and memorable moments. The eye scene😨, shark fight, the hospital fighting them off. Fulci’s undead in my view stand out a bit from the others. I rewatched this with my cousin recently who didn’t see this. He enjoyed and funny he later got a .22 revolver he told me he thought of getting a revolver because of it being used in the movie.
Totally agree, as gory and fun as the movie is, there are times when it feels quite sad. Not a lot of movies, especially horror movies, make me feel like that. The soundtrack is awesome and full of so much life. S tier movie
AWSOME music, AWSOME album cover! 😏👍
This movie is the true Dawn Of The Dead
"chi chi chi ch chizz" da "chi chi chi chi chiz" Very classy score and really covers the theme of a zombie pandemic (Fulci zombie style).
