Amigo the Devil is heavily influenced by metal, folk, and country. He is an incredible lyricist and most of his songs are pretty dark, touching on depression, addiction, suicide, murder, etc. He does have a few here and there that are light hearted and humorous. One of the most emotional songs I've ever listened to is Cocaine and Abel. It's a powerful acoustic song, I'd recommend checking out a live session of that to see his performance. Another Man's Grave is also really powerful. For some other variety in terms of genre and tone, I'd recommend Murder at the Bingo Hall (silly) and Quiet as a Rat (sort of a carnival-esque, almost dark ska song).
Fuckin.... yeah... All that, exactly. Nailed it. Lol.
try "I'm going to heaven" off his new album, I think it's a bit more your pace
That song is so good. The story it tells is amazing!
