This is one of my favourite videos we've ever made. It's been an absolute joy and adventure to rediscover Minecraft in my recent streams, and I hope everyone enjoys the full condensed playthrough here. Massive thank you to my editor Cloe as ever on this
Thank you that's very kind of you to say. I grew up watching so much of older TH-cam and it's a style I really feel has been discarded by many channels in more recent times. Always want my content to feel authentic and not overproduced
Well said! This has quickly become one of my favorite long vids (Along with the second compilation!) to have on in the background while I rediscover Minecraft myself
I absolutely love how Dan has been playing the game. - He took the time to build a house and surrounding area that he liked - He almost always walks, only running if there’s a specific reason to - He’s the only one I’ve ever watched to actually read the end credits poem I’ve watched a million and one minecraft let’s plays, and in the era of speedrunning and Hermitcraft, nothing seems more innovative and exciting to me than just seeing someone take it slow. And if that someone is Rumble Tumble Game, then all the better.
yeah i love how he just walks! which is kinda weird because i get frustrated when i watch people not running, but thats RTs relaxing vibe doing the work i guess
you should check out piropitos lets play then! piropito is a japanese horror artist who had never even seen someone play before his lets play, and during it he never checks a wiki, and only asks for clues once to a friend. its really cool seeing him struggle against problems we dont consider because weve seen a hundred youtubers do the most efficient thing, yet he always perseveres. his 'naivety' of the game gives him great creativity, and he ends up doing so much. he defdated the ender dragon and learned to use the elytra, defeated an elder guardian, etc. and yeah he still walks around gleefully :)
@@kyvizisalive29i was about to reply the same thing!!! his play through holds such a special place in my heart, he really did something incredible ahahaha
i love that rt moves into the village at first planning on fixing it and making it more liveable for the villagers and then a day later half the population are buried alive
The start of the raid was just perfection. 1. Walks into the village as normal, not noticing the raid bar yet. 2. Villagers frantically ringing the bell interrupts him trying to give Frank the fletching table. 3. The horn interrupts him again and alerts him that something is very wrong. 4. Finally notices the raid bar - "Wait why does it say raid?"
@@MudakTheMultiplier most of the chat was smiling and saying "hey, trading for arrows is a good idea yknow" which is true but the timing was perfect for EEEEEVIIIILL
There’s something so wholesome about RT just genuinely playing Minecraft because he just felt like it. It’s not some twisted challenge, not a big ironic joke, he just wanted to play some good old fashioned Minecraft, and that kind of stuff is just really fun to watch.
Dan playing up the "I did some mining off camera" joke and then logging in to proudly show his lovely stables and decorations to the wizard tower was a great showing of the inherent itch to keep building JUST a little more
i seriously cannot get over the insane luck dan had in this run. especially after he found the hollow mountain. i mean the fortress being RIGHT THERE in the nether, how he got the perfect horse just walking outside after he mentioned maybe wanting to get one, finding the treasure and the portal room that quickly, AND how he found an allay at the watchtower when they’re rare af!!!!! incredible haha!
I love how Dan seemed so confident that chat was trolling him about the tall grass, when in reality it's one of the rarest items because you can only obtain it from savanna village chests.
@@LittleScaredyBoyI think you underestimate how deep this rabbit hole goes. I don't even play minecraft and found myself watching a really well made mini-documentary on the search for the 7 block-tall cacti and its rarity. People gravitate towards obscure things. Some people love to know and understand every minute detail of something they love... and a lot of people love this game.
@@Erin-000 Dude, I genuinely wholly agree with you. Obscure as hell games and things in games fascinate me to no end. I've been introduced to so many weird games I would've never known about through TH-cam and The Cutting Room Floor. If you haven't seen it, maybe look into TCRF's page on Ocarina of Time's "1997 Overdump". The stuff in there left me at a loss for words. Also, I have played a lot of Minecraft myself, and I remember a lot of stuff I probably shouldn't. More older quirks (and cut content) than newer things. Seeing someone calling something as innocuous as grass 'rare' made me curious; made me feel like I was missing something.
made for some comically epic content and a needlessly deep lore for one halfhassed little village. To think the man who was once town out the town, and atempted to burn and destroy it became the one to save it... and fall in his own trap lol
I’m so fucking happy he left the Savannah biome. As it personally killed my family when I was just a small wee lad. It was 13 years ago and I still remember their screams. It was horrific, the only reason I survived was cause I had luckily enough drank some water before entering. I still drink water everyday at every possible moment, in fear that a Savannah might attack me. Also the color of the grass looks so bad
The regular green grass is ugly. It looks nothing at all like real grass. The Savannah looks way better and I will die on that hill. The only people that think grass looks like that are suburban conservatives that treat squirrels like wolves and have only ever seen lawns.
I love how the wizard tower is old building techniques with new blocks. Feels really fresh yet nostalgic at the same time. No gradients, no block palettes, just a 2012 minecraft base in amethyst and cherry wood.
The sudden mood change at 45:05 is hilarious It's like he's making an art piece and everyone's just watching attentively then he puts down acacia wood and people start throwing tomatos at him
The best way I can describe this video is with a Dutch word my dad taught me which is Gezelligheid. It’s a word that doesn’t have an English translation and it means that something feels homely and relaxing. Like coming home after a long trip.
Dutch person here: the word is also related to the nice feeling of being around friendly people. It shares the root "gezel" with "gezelschap", which means company (not in the 'corporation' sense, just other people), and "metgezel", which means "companion". All the more reason this video is gezellig!
@@nixel1324 aaah I see, thank you for the help! My dad is a immigrant from the Netherlands, he came to Australia when he was a baby so he doesn't know much Dutch. All the more reason for me to learn more about these special words!
@@onesinglebumbum Are there a lot of dutch immigrants in Australia? I've a good friend whose family comes from there - she actually has Dutch citizenship because of it! Also, could Gezelligheid not be translated as "coziness" or "conviviality"? They're not exact but from what little Dutch I know, they seem like pretty close matches
@@BiFurDoggy As another Dutch person who just looked up what "conviviality" means, I can confirm that it's a pretty one-to-one tranlation of "gezelligheid". The best way I can describe it is "Cozy, but in a chatty way".
we have something similar in norwegian !! "koeslig" has no direct English translation but i like to describe it as lit tea candles, warm food, and safe people :) there's also "kose" which is more so for the action of showing genuine affection between people like parents and children, friends, and family :D
1:32:20 The absolute comedy of you hearing the merchant chugging down potions, opening the door and he's just invisible with two obvious ropes to his llamas coming from where he is, and then the "mm-hm!" Is so good you couldn't even script it.
There is a reason Minecraft got so popular and some people forget it, it wasn't originally this big game with overengineered farms or giant servers with hundreds of plug-ins, Minecraft at it's core was and always will be a simple block game, and that was always the fun of it to me.
When I was 11, I wanted to play minecraft on PC. I'd played it on Pocket Editon (now Bedrock) and wanted to play the "real" version. I tried all day, but I couldn't get it to work, and I went to bed really annoyed at myself. After about 20 minutes, my mum came in to my room and told me to come downstairs. She sat me down in front of her laptop and told me to press space. I did, and there it was, Minecraft Java Edition. She said I had 30 minutes to play before I had to go to bed. That was 10 years ago. Minecraft is a really special game, for a lot of people I think
I have a similar story, but no one helped me and I played the windows 10 version on my laptop for years because I just couldn't figure out how to get java. ;-; I still had the time of my life on it, though. To 7 year old me, it was revolutionary. It's truly a brilliant game that has brought so many people across the world a lot of joy and inspiration over the years, and still does! There really is no other game like it.
Reminds me of the first time I gave my dad money as a kid. The 9 euro the game cost during alpha, making up wild stories why it's worth so much money lol It was probably the most long-lasting purchase of my life. Nothing else has sparked joy or been functional for so long
im obsessed with dan's village chapters because instead of just putting a slab above his door and crouching underneath it he built a prison system for his "roommate" villagers
I barely comment on anything because I generally don't like publicly posting things online, but after like five years of not saying anything on this website, I'm making an exception. I finished watching this video yesterday. A week before today, my only close friend told me he doesn't want to associate with me anymore, and i've struggled to take a restful break without thinking about him. I went to take a walk, went to a café, drove to a big city and went to a museum and got ice cream with my family, played my cello, and tried to do so many things to get myself to rest. And yet the only thing that made me truly feel calm the way he used to and made me stop thinking about him (without me trying to suppress my thoughts) was this silly little minecraft video. When I realized that last night, my face was just stuck in a permanent smile for a while :D I cry a lot so this doesn't say much, but I ended up crying tears of joy after you finished reading the end poem. It's as if that got me to finally believe that I'll be fine without him in a while 🥹 and the universe said i love you and the universe said you have played the game well and the universe said everything you need is within you and the universe said you are stronger than you know and the universe said the darkness you fight is within you and the universe said the light you seek is within you and the universe said you are not alone There's probably no way Dan is going to read this, but I've been subscribed for years. While going through some of the toughest periods of my life, I've had your videos to fall back on and from the bottom of my heart, thank you for making content that makes me feel this way ❤
This comment Made me tear Up. Im in a totally different Situation than you. But ive Beat my addiction for a year now and Had a terrible Break Up right before that. And Just that Part about being fine alone resonated so much! Much Love to you❤❤
That massive cave is genuinely some of the coolest generation I've seen yet. I am now waiting for someone to find this seed and create a mega-structure mine of sorts.
They are actually really common after the cave generation update. They are still super awesome but Im just saying you can def find one for yourself if you have some cool project you want to do 😊
@@joshwilner5622they are insanely common beneath mountains for me. Almost every mountain I've ever tried to mine inside with the new generation has been entirely or mostly hollow
In my world, there is a big cave with like 5 intertwined mineshafts. They made it so floating mineshafts either hang from the ceiling with chains, or have big wooden supports leading to the floor. It’s one of the coolest things I’ve seen in Minecraft.
The end poem is really special for me, I had next to no knowledge when my friends asked me to download Minecraft and join them. I was really clueless(i barely played any other first person games at that time ) but they were kind enough to help me learn the basic and eventually get the hang of it. Eventually after a fairly long time they wanted to go fight the ender dragon, I was nervous but I knew it was going to be interesting to try, It did go very well and I felt really good because it was one of the only boss fights I had until then in any game. When the end poem popped up my friends weren’t very interested but I was curious because it was my first time. and to this day I don’t think I ever felt as much emotion as I did then, the music combined with the poem and the joy of the moment never made my heart so full and my eyes bawl so much, and I will forever feel joy looking to this moment of reading the end poem. I enjoyed watching you so much as if it was me taking my first steps in the game and thank you for taking a moment to read the end poem. ❤
I've been a long, long time fan of the channel Dan. I almost never make streams, cause it's not my sorta media, but I don't miss a single video here. You've been with me through all of college, my first (and hard) work years, and now, at a happier moment of my life, and in all of those times I really feel like your content has brought me joy, and even a sense of hope, a spark of magic in life, as if everytime I come to see a vid, I'm backseating with an old pal, a sense I can't really get since I've lived alone for most of my life. Yet you, an Irish man on the other side of the world makes videos like this, that make me feel like I have a community to be a part of, that it's alright to be as I am, even if it's not as my society ussually approves, because you are an example of being kind, honest, taking life at your pace. I don't know how to exactly explain it, but this video feels like the sum of all that, of a spark of magic in life, that I'll always be able to come back to whenever I need an extra boost to my morale. Thanks Dan, for everything. You're a good man.
Hermitcraft: Season 43. The only ones left on the server are Xisuma and JoeHills. "We have a new member joining us this season!", X said excitedly. Slowly, easing over the distant hills comes Dan. "It's Rumble Tumble time!" >Instantly banned
Honestly, Rt would do well in Hermitcraft. It's just that i don't think he's really much for doing hours of work for that long for a game. . . Then again he also did Stardew Valley with a theme and that's what Hermitcraft is, just with Minecraft
I think OP meant a traditional singleplayer let’s-play and not the newer SMP ones. SMP’s are fun, I love Hermitcraft and the Life series but in the current time actual normal non-challenge let’s-plays are a rarity and mostly only done as a quick recall before other content comes back on the table. I do feel like at this point these singleplayer stuff is making a comeback but who knows.
Its so cool to see you naturally discover everything new. its so tiring when all the other youtubers are just experts because they researched all the new features before recording.
This is SO good. You have the basic understanding of the game so you can get through everything, but still have the sense of discovery for basically everything you encounter in the play through , as well as having chat to guide you. A lot better than the videos of someone playing *completely* blind.
... is it wierd I'm so proud of Dan's house he built? After all the builds he's seen others build in the server over the years, and the... less than impressive stone hut he started with (of which we all did at one point), the wizard tower is honestly very nice!
@@asd316xI was thinking the same thing! I've tried to teach myself to be a better builder, but making it look nice has always been my weakness. Then RT rolls up and knocks it out of the park! Well, not even - it's not mind-boggling. It's a humble build. But it looks really great, and the theming is on point. It's exactly what I feel like I should be able to do. I'm so jealous.
I love the arc of the village raid. The viewers lure RT back to the village and because he doesn’t know he doesn’t notice the raid bar. The first sign that something is wrong is the villagers frantically ringing the bell. The first time RT looks up and discards it as random villager behaviour, but they continue and he’s intrigued. Just then the horn is blown and madness descends on the once tranquil village.
It was so, so good xD and I just KNEW the person suggesting the fletching table knew good and well what they were doing! Gosh, I love this video a lot.
Frank didn't know how much time had passed. All he knew was that he wished for the strange man to come back one last time, to release or kill him, it didn't matter anymore. He had lost track of the years a long time ago, but he still thought back to the time his fate was sealed by a stranger speaking in strange tongues. Back then, he at least had work to distract himself with. Trades to make, despite the materials being worth nothing to him. It had kept the man happy, and him busy. Busy from the thoughts he now couldn't escape anymore. Busy from the realisation that he couldn't die, couldn't end his suffering. He had tried, many times. But nothing he did hurt, nothing he did harmed him. Whatever the man had done, he couldn't die by his own hand anymore. So now the years passed, and Frank waited. For what, he didn't know. He had given up hope long ago, he knew nobody was coming. So all he had left now was the knowledge that all things came to an end eventually. Life, Death, Planets, Stars. All he had left now was the fact that the heat death of the universe was inevitable, and maybe, just maybe it would put an end to his suffering. If it didn't, it probably didn't matter. He feared that by the time millions upon millions of years had gone by, there would be nothing left of the man he had once been. Just a husk of a living creature, destined to suffer for all of eternity. He could feel himself slipping already.
32:32 the reason vanilla is used to describe basic things is because we chemically synthesize vanillan. so for 100 years it has been a cheap easy widely available flavor to the point of being overused, which is why it can seem boring, or average.
The village arc was beautiful. The place we thought Dan would never revisit, ended up being his toughest battleground. The place we thought would burn out in the fires of hatred, ended up warmly embracing him even in toughest times. And the one we thought would be the antithesis to the savior, ended up joining hands with him to end it all. Long live Frank.
Thank you for reading the whole poem at the end, Dan. I remember the first time I beat Minecraft and I didn't know there was anything at the end, so I almost skipped through it, but my friends told me to read it. It came at a really low point for me (we were all starting to realize that the covid quarantine situation was going to last a lot longer than we'd previously thought, among other personal things that compounded the stress and depression of that moment for me) and it was literally life changing. For a brief moment, I felt bigger than myself. I don't think I'll ever be able to recapture that first experience, but listening to you read the poem with the crescendo of the music gave me literal chills and brought some of that feeling back. I'll never be able to thank you enough for that.
I love how genuine this playthrough is. Just playing vanilla to see what's new. Also, the vanilla rant is completely right and says a lot about modern society and transportation technology. What would've been a rare foreign food is now commonplace and considered the default.
My favourite part was probably building the wizard house. It was so tranquil, no tricks or techniques, and it's genuinely a lovely place to live. Props to you Dan. Truly a Build King.

Hearing RT call them Testificate, my god, haven’t heard villagers called that in years, I remember when they were first added to the game, god we’re all so old now aren’t we
the fact that you took the time and effort to read the End Poem out loud has me reeling- I LOVE Minecraft, and I LOVE the End Poem to the point some people have pointed me out quoting it unintentionally- and the way that RT read it, is so perfectly HIM. The genuine care, but not without a bit of chaos and fun, and not always knowing what the words are saying but it's fine because you kinda get it anyway- and then the ending card with "a New Story/Minecraft is a game of Stories" GOSH I LOVE BLOCK GAME no matter what happens you can see a reflection of a person in however they play it and its so so beautiful
Man, I would love to see a part 2. Dan hasn't even scratched the surface of the content that was added post horses. Theres also something so relaxing about just plain old minecraft, no epic build challenges, no super tough RLcraft challenge (which i do recommend), just simple old Minecraft
you know what dan, i initially was skeptical of your building skills when you matched acacia with amethyst, but when i saw the result after the "off camera mining", i have to admit you cooked a damn fine meal.
I absolutely love that you read the final poem, ive never seen another creator do that, and its honestly amazing. Ive only ever read it once myself, as ive only ever beaten the game once myself, and it was wonderful hearing that poem again, this time read aloud. Thank you RT for the fantastic minecraft playthrough
53:54 The way Dan is so giddy and excited like a kid cleanses my soul here. And also, the part of you building the wizard tower, was lovely Dan. Genuinely some of the best content I have ever seen on this platform, because it was so.... peaceful and serene. And the tower itself is so pretty. Like genuinely, you did a great job.
rt, you’re the first content creator i’ve seen actually read the entire end poem. the care and heart you put into each of your videos astounds me sometimes, and i’m really glad you’re around to make our days brighter.
There's also a bit of the english lit major peeking out there, but I love how you can see how much rt genuinely cares about the games he plays - for Pokémon, it's so cool to me how he'll actually notice and explain an obscure references in the game to older media, which would've completely passed me by in any other playthrough. The black and white nuzlockes aren't just a nuzlocke, but also a love-letter to the game. I've never played Pokémon in my life. I'm... going to be getting the next generation as soon as it releases (or possibly the gen 5 remakes, whatever comes first) after seeing all of rt's pokémon playthroughs. o7
You gotta love it when RT does the Heavensent Dr. Who bit. "How many seconds in eternity? The shepherd's b-" "How many seconds in eternity? The shepherd's boy-" "How many seconds in eternity? The shepherd's boy sa-" "How many seconds in eternity? The shepherd's boy said-"
Reminds me of the days when i was a kid where i set up an anvil in the End, and quite literally enchanted a diamond sword with every single applicable enchantment (creative mode). Then proceeded to kill the Ender Dragon with it thinking i was the most badass kid EVER. I didnt know until a year ago that enchantments do literally nothing to the ender dragon. Bless my little kid brain.
i can already tell this is one of my favorite videos of this year. and i loved that he actually stopped to read the credit sequence and give it some pause rather than just skipping past it and assuming it was a dumb joke so many others do. i think they're afraid to wonder if the dialogue at the end of the game is actually supposed to mean something, or that there is importance that can be gleaned from its writings. no matter how silly, fun or inconsequential a game or any other piece of media might seem, it can be important, and it can teach you valuable things. minecraft will forever be one of my all-time favorite games.
With how much people have been calling mojang lazy or saying that Minecraft is too boring in recent years, it’s nice to see someone so excited to find all the new stuff that’s been added in the past few updates
After nearly 5 years since the last Minecraft Let’s Play, we finally got Episode #346,760 and what a glorious episode it was! Frank applauds you for your effort while becoming hole bound and literally became the true MVP of this adventure to fight the Ender Dragon!
This brings a wave of nostalgia I didn't know still existed. Seeing Dan play for what is basically the first experience of Survival Minecraft is exciting and adventurous as those days where I first played. It's sad to see some people in chat say he plays wrong, the little mistakes or over complicating the game's mechanics and features is so fun and interesting to watch. It's like watching a Let's Play of this game back in 2011.
The raid was so unreasonably climatic. Dan not knowing what was happening at first, someone being in dans house, Dan accidentally sleeping which saved all his stuff, Dan remember the one sword he left in the house dans trap finally working… on himself using the horrible terraforming and architecture to his advantage and him technically winning because he trapped 2 villagers underground. I loved it so much
This is probably gonna go unnoticed, but holy shit, good work by Cloe on the building the tower montage. It felt magical in that way a first playthrough can feel. And good job to RT for actually building a good base, something I have yet to accomplish in my nearly 9 years of playing
This video is so comforting, most Minecraft playthroughs are so large and overcomplicated, but this one is just for fun and you can tell how much he loves the game.
Recently been bumping the Minecraft soundtrack, and it’s got me thinking about how detached modern Minecraft content is from the experience of just playing the game. You’ve got stuff like “I built some crazy thing in modded Minecraft hardcore survival part 53” and then you’ve got stuff like this, where it’s genuinely just playing the game. And honestly I miss the simplicity of just a good old fashioned play through a lot.
Speaking of the soundtrack, I don't care what anyone says, I love the newer tracks by the Celeste composer. They're more complex, sure, but a lot of them still give off that calm, mystical vibe that I feel perfectly fits Minecraft, especially nowadays. The wizard tower sequence with that music was so calm and beautiful
@@squiddu They both feel different to each other, but I feel like they both fit Minecraft in their own way. I happily go back and listen to both, even if C418 is the nostalgic one.
RT I originally popped this on for some background noise in order to take a nap but I ended up becoming so enamored by your adventures and your progress that I ended up just watching the whole thing in one sitting. This was highly enjoyable, and I'm proud of you for beating the Ender Dragon
Editor Cloe knocking it out of the park again. I can't imagine the effort it took to edit all those super long livestreams, and the floating subtitles of the villagers talking is hysterical! 😂
RT, on stream: "I'm just going to upload one Minecraft video, and recommend the VOD if people want to see the full playthrough" Also RT: *Uploads a feature length Minecraft MOVIE*
I remember awhile back in a more serious rt update video he said he didn’t like playing stardew valley or minecraft because people would always try to tell him how to play and how he was always doing it wrong or not taking it seriously, but seeing rt get into stardew, minecraft, and other titles with obnoxious fanbases without caring what others tell him is so lovely to see. I hope that you enjoy every single game you play rt :)
Honestly, this playthrough has made me realise something about minecraft Its not about the extravagant builds, or crazy redstone Its about doing what you find fun, at your own pace, like sure some people enjoy redstone and building, but sometimes what you need is just to take it slow and just have some fun
This video makes me feel like I'm at a family gathering and we're just in the living room watching our cousin play a game and he constantly does things to make us laugh/tease us and we're genuinely having fun together
"I havent played for ages, i feel old right now, im so confused" then this guy later makes one of the most gorgeous houses i've seen in MC, the sheer audacity D:
I know people are trashing the acacia wood, but I think it’s a very Dan build. Not in a “he’s shit at building” way, but that he doesn’t hesitate when chat tries to argue against him. He LIKES what he’s making, he trusts his own enjoyment and doesn’t back down from his choices and what he likes. I hate acacia wood, but the fact that Dan didn’t swap it when chat yelled at him made it look good!!
It's so nostalgic to see Minecraft being played the old school way, without all the optimization, farms and speedrun strats. Of course, there's nothing wrong with wanting to optimize. It's just nice to go back to the simpler times and relive your first survival playthrough.
It’s heartwarming to see someone enjoying the game in their own way. No screaming, no raging, just pure appreciation of the game’s ability to let you do what you wish with it. I really enjoyed this video and it’s reminded me that Minecraft is a wonderful experience when not tainted with the expectation that everything should be done in a certain way. Thank you for this and I hope you enjoy the rest of your playthrough!
This was my intro to your channel, and I've got to say, it's refreshing to see some minecraft like it was supposed to be played. Just enough knowledge to know what's going on, just enough newness to still be excited by stuff, and no crazy twists. Just gaming for fun. New subscriber. 10/10 (Oh and haha, tall grass is actually rare. You cannot get it as an item, and the only place it appears is savannah chests.)
I've never seen the creeper witch interaction at 34:07 before. The creeper explosion leaving lingering particles of the potion it was hit with is really neat. I had no idea that was in the game
That's also the coolest cave I've seen in this game. I haven't played a lot of caves and cliffs, but I've watched a lot of videos of it, and nothing comes close. The one cool cave I've seen was maybe half as awesome as that one. I think I'd enjoy playing the game more if I found amazing world generation like that regularly, but it's usually pretty plain, and I don't feel motivated to deal with new minecraft inventory clutter for an average cave
These 1-2 hour condensed videos are my absolute favorite thing ever. I usually put them on in the background while drawing but you BET I'm going to sit here and watch this entire thing through distraction-free at least once. It's such a breath of fresh air watching someone who's willing to have fun and learn as they go instead of speedrunning to the end as fast as possible
Taking the bus to my home for spring break. It's a 4 hour drive. This absolutely beautiful saga helped pass the time. This was one of the most engaging playthrus of Minecraft Ive seen in a LONG while.
After watching people messing around with Create and Airships and vast expansive "1000 day" videos, this was genuinely a treat to just...watch someone enjoy Minecraft without the bells and whistles and frills? I'm glad you had a good time Dan!
Fuck man watching this at 2:08AM and just started tearing up at literally 2 mins rn, Idk why but this whole 2 weeks. I've just been wanting to watch someone play regular vanilla minecraft and chill and just seeing this video really hammered home that minecraft is such a staple to my childhood than i thought, that I'm 17 now close to becoming an adult and just watching my favorite youtubers build houses, explore or mod this game, and goofing off with friends is now just a childhood memory of a kid escaping reality and just having fun in this blocky world to let his creativity run wild and just that, Minecraft is such a good and great game.
@@ChaosCause3000 I let out an audible “Are you fucking kidding me?!” when I saw that he spawned in the perfect spot to get both blaze rods AND ender pearls especially since he wouldn't have his portal spawn there if he didn't take chat's advice to move homes from the village
I actually started crying when he built the second house. Forgetting the thoughts of shape, color, detailing, depth, and just having a vision and running with it reminded me of the real creative freedom and joy that this game has
I unexpectedly found myself glued to the screen the whole time smiling, laughing and cheering on. An amazing story from the wonderful perspective of rediscovering something old and and discovering the new for the first time.

Always love to see you having fun!
That guy who mentioned the fletching table just after Dan got bad omen knew EXACTLY what he was doing
as soon as he said he was going to the village i shouted 'no!' at the screen
To be fair, having a fletcher on hand is better than having to grind for arrows. So it's a pretty good troll in my book.
I mean, the hero of the village effect also helps a lot since the prices make stuff dirt cheap, so it may have been a good choice in the end.
the very moment he spotted those pillagers I *knew* somebody in chat was going to try to convince him to
I am unfamiliar with the games new mechanics, what does this mean exactly? That getting that will trigger the Raid?
The first thing that Dan did when he heard an eerie noise is grab the bucket. I guess the Stanley Parable still lives within him.
What is your favorite ending. Mine is the broom closet ending!!!

@@RTGame You do it well. Your channel has been somewhat of a comfort for me even since you mainly made TF2 content, so I thank you for that.

- He took the time to build a house and surrounding area that he liked
- He almost always walks, only running if there’s a specific reason to

I’ve watched a million and one minecraft let’s plays, and in the era of speedrunning and Hermitcraft, nothing seems more innovative and exciting to me than just seeing someone take it slow.

There’s something so wholesome about RT just genuinely playing Minecraft because he just felt like it. It’s not some twisted challenge, not a big ironic joke, he just wanted to play some good old fashioned Minecraft, and that kind of stuff is just really fun to watch.

And yet the only thing that made me truly feel calm the way he used to and made me stop thinking about him (without me trying to suppress my thoughts) was this silly little minecraft video. When I realized that last night, my face was just stuck in a permanent smile for a while :D

He could feel himself slipping already.
do you need like, a hug or something?

Thank you for reading the whole poem at the end, Dan. Hey Dan, I deal with chronic pain and on bad days your videos really help me as a distraction. Thanks for playing Minecraft again
Man, I would love to see a part 2. Dan hasn't even scratched the surface of the content that was added post horses. Theres also something so relaxing about just plain old minecraft, no epic build challenges, no super tough RLcraft challenge (which i do recommend), just simple old Minecraft
And the next update, with the trial chambers, would add some extra spice as well
part 2 would be a very nice watch, with maybe the end result being the wither?
I’d LOVE to see more of the underwater stuff. I saw a Lush Cave near the Stronghold, and that would be the perfect place to pick back up!
Part 2 would be very nice. Though it’s completely up to them.
right?? he didnt even encounter hoglins cuz he got lucky with his portal, and thats nothing with the deep dark or the axolotls
you know what dan, i initially was skeptical of your building skills when you matched acacia with amethyst, but when i saw the result after the "off camera mining", i have to admit
you cooked a damn fine meal.
He served
He ate
"Well RT, you're an odd fellow, but I must say, you steamed a good build,"
stand proud
And he cooked good
My favourite bit was when people started gaslighting Dan into thinking that most common stuff is super rare and the rare stuff is common. Classic.
I just can’t understand why he never dug straight down? Some people are paranoid for no good reason. 😈
The tall grass *item* is actually kinda rare. It can only be found in Acacia village chests
I think my favourite part was how many villagers got kidnapped and “rehomed”, such a caring guy RT is
He could’ve just made them new beds in different houses 😭😭
and how every house he made got invaded by more villagers too lol
@@kawaiicake8038they'd just breed I think
rt, you’re the first content creator i’ve seen actually read the entire end poem. the care and heart you put into each of your videos astounds me sometimes, and i’m really glad you’re around to make our days brighter.
I'm... going to be getting the next generation as soon as it releases (or possibly the gen 5 remakes, whatever comes first) after seeing all of rt's pokémon playthroughs. o7
The Minecraft poem is also written by an Irishman ironically
You gotta love it when RT does the Heavensent Dr. Who bit.
"How many seconds in eternity? The shepherd's b-"
"How many seconds in eternity? The shepherd's boy-"
"How many seconds in eternity? The shepherd's boy sa-"
"How many seconds in eternity? The shepherd's boy said-"
Crap, that was Doctor Who? I tapped out in the middle of Smith's run. Thought Dan was just being Irish.
He's done it before?
@@zperk13Technically there was the altered "Drift King" version of that moment in the RTGame Choose Your Own Adventure
@@CouldveBeenKing13 yeah its from one of capaldis episodes that is widely regarded as one of the greatest docwho episodes of all time 😅

It's been a long wait
The fact that a WWMii competitor was not completely blacklisted from the channel...
It gives me a spark of hope
I dont think he's blacklisting them, just not planning on playing them unless he wants to.
This means hope for a Yakuza, and New Vegas playthrough..
Pikmin has a shot!
Tumblr has a shot!
Persona 3 Reload *doesn’t* have a shot! That has straight up been veto’d by Dan. He has stated multiple times he just isn’t playing it.
I loved it so much
Not to mention Chekhov's pressure plate trap
This is probably gonna go unnoticed, but holy shit, good work by Cloe on the building the tower montage. It felt magical in that way a first playthrough can feel.
And good job to RT for actually building a good base, something I have yet to accomplish in my nearly 9 years of playing
This video is so comforting, most Minecraft playthroughs are so large and overcomplicated, but this one is just for fun and you can tell how much he loves the game.
So real, kinda tired of the massive hardcore playthroughs everyone and their mothers make so this is a nice break
@@squiddu I think it’s hard to beat C418, the dude is just on another lever. But I think the new lady is doing a pretty good job too 👍
@@squiddu They both feel different to each other, but I feel like they both fit Minecraft in their own way.
RT, on stream: "I'm just going to upload one Minecraft video, and recommend the VOD if people want to see the full playthrough"
Also RT: *Uploads a feature length Minecraft MOVIE*
I remember awhile back in a more serious rt update video he said he didn’t like playing stardew valley or minecraft because people would always try to tell him how to play and how he was always doing it wrong or not taking it seriously, but seeing rt get into stardew, minecraft, and other titles with obnoxious fanbases without caring what others tell him is so lovely to see. I hope that you enjoy every single game you play rt :)
Honestly, this playthrough has made me realise something about minecraft
Its not about the extravagant builds, or crazy redstone
Its about doing what you find fun, at your own pace, like sure some people enjoy redstone and building, but sometimes what you need is just to take it slow and just have some fun
"i need to find some food source" *jumps over massive stack of haybales*
This video makes me feel like I'm at a family gathering and we're just in the living room watching our cousin play a game and he constantly does things to make us laugh/tease us and we're genuinely having fun together

I didn't expect for you to read the entire end poem. Thank you for doing that. I've been having a rough time and that poem always cheers me up.
"I havent played for ages, i feel old right now, im so confused" then this guy later makes one of the most gorgeous houses i've seen in MC, the sheer audacity D:
I love how Dan nailed the fun of watching old minecraft lets plays
5:38 seeing a streamer you like in the chat of another streamer you like feels like running into your teacher at the grocery store
the shenpai jumpscare is real
It didn't even click with me that was Shen till you pointed it out Christ.
Audibly went, "Wait, Shen?????"
(Oh and haha, tall grass is actually rare. You cannot get it as an item, and the only place it appears is savannah chests.)
Omgosh i love this! This my new comfort series, i hope everyone is having fun! :)
@@foncess For me its pretty regular, more of those caves than small caves
It's not so much the size of the cave that makes it cool. It's the way it generated @@firehazzard8497

Seeing someone just experience minecraft and learn about all its new features naturally is so refreshing. Fantastic video :)
After watching people messing around with Create and Airships and vast expansive "1000 day" videos, this was genuinely a treat to just...watch someone enjoy Minecraft without the bells and whistles and frills? I'm glad you had a good time Dan!
Fuck man watching this at 2:08AM and just started tearing up at literally 2 mins rn,
Idk why but this whole 2 weeks.
