@@Akaash449 probably, last time I played at hard. Tho I'm not sure that realistic has that much different AI and won't just run and fire at sound, like it is doing at all other difficulties.
In my Far Cry version Krieger is much more harder to kill. I emptied a whole OICW clip on his chest and he still survived. He even withstood a direct rocket launcher hit. Any tips how to kill him? This is the hardest FPS game that i ever played in my life, lol.
I suppose you’re playing with very few patches (ironically the latest patches broke Krieger’s head hitbox amongst all the things they did fix). I would suggest focusing on killing the soldiers *first* so you can concentrate on Krieger more comfortably. I’d wait until he jumps on the top beam so you’re not forced to leave your entire cover from the desk. Try to headshot him, and blast ALL your secondary fire from the OICW and rockets from the rocket launcher before you try to headshot him for the last bits of health. That should make it more easy.
@@GamingRevenant I use Far Cry Classic Mod. Looks like it has the unofficial 1.505 patch included too. Enemy can't see me through tents and dense foliage. Anyway I killed those 4 mercenaries first. Krieger is a real pain in the ass - beside shooting with his gun he also throws grenades at the player. I am seriously considering using cheats to get through this part of the level. I am not even playing on Realistic, but on Veteran difficulty. Maybe enabling quick save option will help.
Looks like the cheats work only with the vanilla game. I restarted the level on Medium difficulty and finally killed Krieger with shotgun. At least i didn't cheat.
For what it's worth: Just finished it, and it seems that the name of the game is *speed* when it comes to dealing with "bosses", who would be Crowe in the helicopter and Mutant Krieger, because the first went down easily when I blasted him with like 6 grenades from the OICW; this was after trying to be patient and spending probably 15+ rockets and grenades without success. I might have lucked out with Krieger because in a panic I downloaded half a magazine, or a full magazine of shotgun shells on his chest (maybe also his head) and voilà, next thing I know I'm at the cutscene.
I just played the last part of this agianst the armored guards on challenging. And didn't have to fire a single shot! They all blew themselves up over some thrown rocks. Can't believe that worked. Have been trying for hours to get though volcano... and then you win by rocks...
Far cry 1 on realistic difficulty is the hardest game I've played and beat. Just came here to remind myself of this boss fight. It looks easy when you do it but it took me hours and hours to do it.
Yea, it took also took me many hours to beat the game. Before every recorded level, I’ve at least died 20 times or more. On some levels, like Archive, I had to find workarounds to beat some segments more easily. However, there are a few tricks that make the game easier on realistic, which become more apparent when you understand the engine mechanics. The most useful one across the levels, and especially on the final level here, is to never use your binoculars. Most enemies only spawn when you’re getting within a specific distance of them, but if you use the binocs you trigger the enemies extremely early on, and they will then react on your shots from miles away, when otherwise they don’t even ‘exist’ for the game and you won’t trigger many tactical decisions of the AI too early.
@@GamingRevenant Very interesting about the binoculars! If I remember correctly, the "workaround" I accidentally used for Dr. Krieger was that one of the guards behind him shot at me through him, dealing massive amounts of damage to him.
There's a lot of encounters not balanced around Realistic difficulty like the final room in Control, 2 warehouses in Archive, Crowe fight in Boat, temple in Catacombs, car section in Swamp, defending Val in Factory, path to Krieger's office in Dam. Meanwhile Volcano only has 4 encounters but all of them are bullshit: first you have 9 mercs, one with RPG that 2 shots you from full HP, all of them are hidden and don't spawn straight away, so you can't shoot rockets at them through the door. Then the awful Krieger fight with 4 adds unless you know about his bugged hitbox. Then the fight so bad people had to come up with the chair strat. And then Doyle's crew (at least you can spawn kill them if you have rockets and grenades).
Correct! For me, honestly, the most baffling change in difficulty on realistic were the two warehouses in Archive. The first one I could live with as I had trained it some more on the lower difficulties years earlier when I first got the game. The first warehouse, in fact, is really hard even on the easiest difficulties and is a infamous section many people remember years later because of it. But on realistic the second warehouse is close-to-impossible. I only managed to kill the whole warehouse once after more than 20 tries, only to realise later on that you don't need to do that, at all. You can just rush the crate (you need to get lucky that the mercenaries are distracted by the fat boy) and jump down without doing anything. Perhaps not as spectacular, but sometimes the only way to reliably beat these sections. Once you understand the engine mechanics from within, you can do a lot of the stuff on realistic pretty 'easily'.
@@GamingRevenant I also played it on unpatched GOG version because the patch makes the game easier (which is counterproductive if you play for the challenge). I'm 100% sure I wouldn't have been able to do that if not for your vids, especially the AI abuse in Swamp.
@Ghufran Ghufran wait, you mean the classic version? isn't it more of a downgrade rather than relevant differences between versions? either way it's the same game, and I played the classic version, so where exactly is the story different?
No, AI-autobalance is OFF. This level I replayed more than 20 times so I knew the spawns from memory. I used to also apply the chair trick blocking the first gate to get unlimited ammo, but I felt it would be too gimmicky for a general gameplay walkthrough.
Dude i finished the game on realistic but from your perspective it seemed much easier idk. When i played this level it felt so hard to kill basically everyone. I constantly had to hit headshots and the Mutant guy Creager definitely couldn't be killed with less than 40 bullet's. Maybe I'm wrong but it felt like everytime they hit a shot on me half of my hp is gone. In your situation your sustaining just a little bit of damage.
So, before anything, if you rewatch my playthrough (of all levels really, but let’s just take Volcano) you’ll be able to tell I headshot every enemy. At the very start of the last segment after the large door opens, I know where the mercenary triggers spawn and even in realistic they get 1-shot-killed with the sniper. Because of the grate model blocking a straight LoS, they don’t spot you straight-up and makes the fight a lot easier since you can then just focus on the Fat Boys. Then, for Krieger there is a bugged hit box that’s ironically located right at his waist (like more in the center of his cr*tch). His headshot hit box is actually located there instead of at his head which makes it possible to headshot him with the rifle like 30-40 times in a few seconds, hence why he died almost immediately. I believe there is a specific patch that fixes this, but I was unaware of it before doing the whole playthrough. IF you have trouble with Fat Boys, use the M249 and spray their head. For ‘smaller’ amounts of damage sustained, there is a patch that fixed the rocket damage radius from the jeeps and Fat Boys that was broken in the patch 1.4 (it was like 10x what it originally was meant to be). This makes it slightly easier to beat realistic because that’s essentially what their damage was supposed to be. Make sure to install any patches after the official 1.4 one to make sure all bugs are fixed. Nevertheless, in realistic you can sustain a moderate amount of damage from any bullets when wearing armour. The major difference between the other modes is that only a headshot with or without armour will result in a 1-hit kill. I had to re-record each level more than a few times because I kept getting killed with just a few bullets. This is also the reason why I know all enemy placements and generally easily predict their vantage points. Eventually muscle memory plays the biggest role in beating realistic as you can’t predict each spawn from the get-go. Hopefully that clarifies things up a bit?
Lol at 4:40, you didn’t have to open the second gate. Just let them come and they kill each other by their rockets. I remembered when I found out that “glitch” when I died too many times on that last level.
The Steam version is far, far too difficult on "normal" mode. I had to cheat and watch the last level on TH-cam this time around. I enjoy a challenge, but not the "Steam-level" difficulty. Great game, though. I will try it again on easy difficulty and see how it goes.
Eu joguei da dificuldade Challenger, mas parece que os inimigos tem mais HP que no Realistic, tive que acertar 2 headshots com rifle pra matar cada mutante saltador
That's because I've played all of Far Cry 1 so many times (with many takes redone as I died along the way) that I'm playing by sheer memory. I literally knew all the timings, spawnpoints and damage required to kill which trigens before even entering the game. That's really the only way I was able to complete these series. Perhaps that's why it looks 'easy' but in reality it's each time just the take that succeeded after I had trained every segment of the level multiple times over 😉
I was disappointed at the end when it turned out Doyle was a traitor. Made very little sense to me after he helped Jack get as far as he did. I was even more disappointed that he put up very little fight and you probably could have killed him with a pistol. I think it should have ended by killing Kreiger at the volcano
Well, truth be told the entire story wasn’t top of the bill (it was there really just to tie the levels to each other). I’ve never given it as much crap as most other people do, however, and I too actually liked Doyle for the majority of the game. I don’t believe it’s unthinkable that he would betray Jack even after all the help, as after all Doyle needed him to eliminate Krieger which he couldn’t do himself at all. That’s also the reason, likely, that at the end he’s so weak because, yea, that’s literally what he is and why Jack was the perfect guy to be used by Doyle to do all the dirty work. I believe that the hardest part of the game is the volcano itself (minus the Jeep of hell in level 17), and that by clearing the level you’ve basically had the endgame boss defeated. However, since there’s never been a direct link between the Far Cry games, it would have been nice to be able to get different endings. It would be so incredible if they were to ever continue Jack’s storyline in a new Far Cry, but unfortunately so many people crapped on the story as a whole that it’s unlikely they would do this. That, or perhaps a remaster.
@@GamingRevenant my hardest time was to bring down Crow's Helecoptor at the end of level 14. Took me 3 weeks until I finally decided to park the jeep on the beach and take him out that way. Eventually I was able to take him down with the rocket launcher on the boat after several replays of the game.👍
THERE IS FUCK ALL CHANCE you would be doing this walk through as easy as this on a console on Realistic. Whatever the fuck patch you added to this PC version, it has made the game SIGNIFICANTLY easier. You literally die in one shot from any enemy on realistic on Xbox.
Just so you know, all that the patch fixed was the broken damage from the Rocket fat boys (it was beyond broken and not what the developers intended), and the A.I. seeing through tents. There is another patch which I discovered after the whole playthrough that fixes even more stuff, making it even more easy. However, this *is* on realistic and yes, you die from 1 or 2 shots most of the time even with armour. As I said before and I'll say it again, I've played each level so many times on repeat (because I died many times yes) that I started memorizing every enemy spawn, timing and the better hiding spots. I also dabbled a lot in the CryEngine back in the older days which allowed me to understand A.I. behaviour a lot better. For instance, with the jumping trigens at the volcano, they can only see you when you are in their immediate POV. That's why I crouch and slowly bend around the fences which, despite being translucent (the texture), still blocks their LOS. This gives you all the time to lineup a hs with the sniper and make them easy kills. Also, as in every level in Far Cry, if you *don't* use the binoculars, enemies will often not spawn until you scope them with the sniper or start getting close enough. Many players do all of these things and it makes the game a lot harder because if you shoot anything, they will immediatly be noticed, whereas if they aren't spawned yet, they cannot even register sounds or shots. Hopefully that gives you better insight as of why it seems easier than it really is. I don't know about Xbox as I never had one, but if you can't install unofficial patches then yes this game is near-impossible to beat (a.i. shooting through walls, fat boys ridicilous damage), which believe it or not *wasn't the goal of the developers.* It's not due to hard A.I. it's due to bugs and code errors in the older patches that they forgot to fix in their latest patch (1.4 I think) and it's pointless to play that way as the A.I. has literal aimbot that way.
There’s a buggy hit box (that sticks out his back all the way down between his legs) which deals bare-headshot damage. If you shoot him there he basically gets like 30-40 headshots in a few seconds with the OICW, M249 or M4.
It’s fixed in unofficial patches (beyond the ones I have installed), and also doesn’t appear in some older versions of the game (those before the 1.4 patch). It’s likely to not encounter it if you don’t bother updating properly to 1.4 or by installing no other patches 🙂 I didn’t know about all of them until after finishing the whole playthrough, sadly. Some of them also fix the FOV and ratio of the hud. If I had known, I would have definitely installed those before recording. Perhaps some day I might record in 8K and then do all of that properly instead 😉
this is not REALISTIC MODE at all , it's a fake - it's not even a Medium Difficulty - this is EASY MODE. Yesterday I have finish Far Cry 1 on Medium Mode and it was so hard to do it. On MEDIUM Dif if You get 2-3 shots You have no armor and yours health is half. Those jumping Trigens - on left and right - in this level should open fire at You after see You on the platform. They didn't ! Not because You hide, but because their AI was lowered by setting Easy mode. I have played on the latest patch from Crytek - 1.4 1405 Build from STEAM and on Medium Level - enemies had amazing aiming skils.
Wtf are you going on about man 😆 this is seriously the realistic difficulty, all the way from my first video till the last. There's one of the patches in Far Cry (beyond the 1.4 build from Steam) that fixes some problems of enemies seeing through tents and stuff, and also fixed problems of enemies being able to see through the wall. There's also something you need to know (regardless of any patch): If you don't use the binoculars to trigger some enemies, they will not actually 'spawn' which is an engine-specific feature of the CryEngine. That's why the jumping trigens on the left and right don't shoot me right away. Believe it or not, I have replayed this final section over 30 times to get it all right, and understand the A.I. behaviour. That's why I'm laying down on specific positions (04:40 I lay down BEFORE even going through the door) to avoid over-triggering the enemies. Also, right before the first cutscene from Krieger (at 01:59) you can clearly tell the amount of damage I'm taking from being in open fire from the armoured mercenary. I got lucky there that he didn't headshot me, because on realistic one headshot is an instant kill even with armour. And, as you can tell from almost the entire video, I try to kill enemies before they can even hit me, thus never actually taking any damage.
@Paweł No. It is only skill and knowing the AI well. By the way, there are unofficial patches (not from STEAM) that fixes the unrealistic aiming skills and see through wall kind of AI issues.
@@cardd-0 The patch fixes the AI shooting through tents and barracks, it does not change how accurate they are, or at least it's not in the patch notes. None of the unofficial patches does that. The GOG.com one fixes only the enemy seeing through tents while the unofficial 1.41 also provide some anticheat update for Punkbuster and tweak the damage of the OP shotgun. here is the list of changes : www.gamefront.com/games/far-cry/file/unofficial-patch-1-41
@@attractivegd9531 That's a speedrun of the game. The difficulty at that point doesn't make much sense IMO. I've watched it and he too knows literally all the enemy positions by sheer muscle memory, like I did in my playthrough. Once again, this is realistic difficulty. I've just loaded up the Krieger battle in Realistic again and he literally dies very quickly no matter what gun. BTW, in that speedrun Krieger dies EVEN FASTER than in my playthrough 😝. If you need the technical explanation, one of his hitboxes is bugged and deals as much damage as a headshot (it's close to his blood/vein part stuff in the middle of his chest). I do my research and practice a lot, and I don't intend to fool my audience with faulty videos and incorrect difficulty.
You aren't playing in mod realistic, u can't kill 1 tringen with 1 shot in the head in realistic is necessary two shots in the head for kill him, and the hulks don't stay still, but they all go towards the door. Another thing is that realistically when you open the back door not only one but two hulks
I just replayed it in realistic to verify, and none of what you say is true. Either you’re playing an old, unpatched version or a modded one. Except for that they go to the door, *as they do so in the video* 😕?
If you had taken a few seconds to read the (ample amount of) comments and replies of the same question, you’d have read my replies and found the answer for yourself. But… Krieger has a buggy hitbox, where his head hitbox is at the height of his waist. If you spam-shoot it he literally dies in seconds, be it easy or realistic. Only unofficial patches occasionally fix this, although at the time of recording I wasn’t aware of the more recent patches. If I re-record this playthrough in the future for 8K UHQ I will install the complete overhaul patch that additionally also fixes the UI-stretching. Hopefully that clears up the issue you had with this video.
Bruh no way that first checkpoint is that easy. I play on challenging and I get fucking rushed immediately with a launcher and shield guys. I swear it must be a bug or you're playing on easy
Sounds you make either trigger them to be careful or rush your position. This includes walking or jumping. Just crouch and avoid triggering their AI ambush state. Also, don’t binoc the area as you will early-trigger other spawns. Anyways, AI behavior will change upon reload and it’s random, so one round you’ll be lucky the other they rush straight to you.

And because it's confined space, they'll kill each other. I just throwed rocks for a minute and then silently went upstairs and killed rocket guy from behind.
Yeah, i like to use tricks like this against guys with Rocket launcher they will shot at any distance, so when they sit at towers you can provoke them to kill themselves :)
only works on easier difficulties.

Imagine the programming during the early 2000s. The game is literally the hardest one. Just mind blowing😮
I died so many fucking times in this first room that it brings me the nightmares to this day :D
For what it's worth:
Just finished it, and it seems that the name of the game is *speed* when it comes to dealing with "bosses", who would be Crowe in the helicopter and Mutant Krieger, because the first went down easily when I blasted him with like 6 grenades from the OICW; this was after trying to be patient and spending probably 15+ rockets and grenades without success. I might have lucked out with Krieger because in a panic I downloaded half a magazine, or a full magazine of shotgun shells on his chest (maybe also his head) and voilà, next thing I know I'm at the cutscene.

only bcoz it was on medium, doesen't work as much on realistic, also ver 1.40 is different
@@GamingRevenant
Very interesting about the binoculars!
If I remember correctly, the "workaround" I accidentally used for Dr. Krieger was that one of the guards behind him shot at me through him, dealing massive amounts of damage to him.
Amazing game still got it on my laptop and just finished without using the pc mouse kinda hard this way to be played!
BEST GAME EVER!! this led to Crysis with the cytek engine.....and then I invested in NVDA and the rest is history!

20 levels. This is the last one (level number can be found in the title and description).
i got to 1:40, then i failed few times, uninstalled the game, still it was great experience, specially after what i played last from fpp -fps.
So the key to killing Krieger quickly is to aim for the chest, not the head?

Thank you
In case , why you chose far cry 1?
Because it wasn’t ever done in 4K UHD before, and it’s a childhood game I’ve always wanted to put online 🙂
@Ghufran Ghufran wait, you mean the classic version? isn't it more of a downgrade rather than relevant differences between versions? either way it's the same game, and I played the classic version, so where exactly is the story different?
A true nightmare this level.
Doyle was pretty much beckoning for Jack to come kill him. What?
Where is the link of The Game?
We realize there is no other missions left
Did you play with AI autobalance?
This is not realistic !!! I can bet this
Do not feel bad because it is not realistic mode in this video.

Lol at 4:40, you didn’t have to open the second gate. Just let them come and they kill each other by their rockets. I remembered when I found out that “glitch” when I died too many times on that last level.
wait what? no way, is there a headshots exist in this game? for me enemies requires same amount of ammo in body and head respectively
How do we know its realistic?
you make this look easy xD
That's because I've played all of Far Cry 1 so many times (with many takes redone as I died along the way) that I'm playing by sheer memory. I literally knew all the timings, spawnpoints and damage required to kill which trigens before even entering the game. That's really the only way I was able to complete these series. Perhaps that's why it looks 'easy' but in reality it's each time just the take that succeeded after I had trained every segment of the level multiple times over 😉
@@GamingRevenant sweet, i beat the game last night, but kept dying over and over on this level, so i just used this to help

I wouldn't have finished this mission if it wasn't for the 3 chairs in the armour room. Those who know they know 😂
The best Far Cry

I played this game twice and second time on realistic.
Very hard game.
U just need to hit head man
THERE IS FUCK ALL CHANCE you would be doing this walk through as easy as this on a console on Realistic.
I completed full missions in 2016

Definitely playing an unpatched version. My game had aimbot and wallhacking enemies. Much harder than this one.
The unpatched version is not harder, it’s simply broken. There’s no point playing the game in a way it wasn’t meant to be played. Patch the game 😉
i made it on the easiest... but i was 8yo xD
How did u kill the boss so fast like wtf
There’s a buggy hit box (that sticks out his back all the way down between his legs) which deals bare-headshot damage. If you shoot him there he basically gets like 30-40 headshots in a few seconds with the OICW, M249 or M4.
What never heard of that but cool
It’s fixed in unofficial patches (beyond the ones I have installed), and also doesn’t appear in some older versions of the game (those before the 1.4 patch). It’s likely to not encounter it if you don’t bother updating properly to 1.4 or by installing no other patches 🙂 I didn’t know about all of them until after finishing the whole playthrough, sadly. Some of them also fix the FOV and ratio of the hud. If I had known, I would have definitely installed those before recording. Perhaps some day I might record in 8K and then do all of that properly instead 😉
Oh ok thx

this is not REALISTIC MODE at all , it's a fake - it's not even a Medium Difficulty - this is EASY MODE.
