Never skied the Optic, but deffo on the Whitewalker train. Got it midway last season when i blew out the Armada Magic J . For me, the Whitewalke is my favorite ski in my quiver right now! I put a Cast touring system on it so it's now used almost every day.
Ohh Booyah! I had the casts on mine too! Freaken love that ski man. Thanks for sharing the stoke! I hope you have a great winter ❄️
HOMIE I LOVE YOUR VIBES SO MUCH OH MY GOD. I hope i see you out there one day homie
Ay! See you out there! Keep it real brotha 🤙 ps I’d subscribe from your channel but you have 69 subs and I just can’t ruin that harmony
Quality review dude
Yo, thank you for the feedback. Gonna be making some more this winter
Awesome review, thanks! If you liked the Powabunga as a strict powder ski, you should try out the Line Pescado!
Great recommendation on the pescado 🐠
I skied a handful of days on it a couple seasons ago, it was fantastic. Sadly the rock sharks claimed them
Great review. I am interested in the whitewalkers or moment wildcats (to replace my old original JJs)
My current favorite ski is my Sego Big Horn 106. They are amazing.
Thanks! Ooh the Sego’s! I’ve heard good things about those skis.
I’ve been on the K2 reckoners, line bacons, line optics, and the libtech yewps so far this year. They’re all similar to the white walker and man none of em are quite as good! The closest is the optic which is a dope ski
Yes good vibes and great place to live...🌈...never try the Powabunga, but I own a couple of fat powder skis like the Fat-ypus A Lotta 140 underfoot, I Rock 126, Whitedot Redeemer 128 but the best of the best big boy for me, is the Down skis Countdown 1 135 underfoot, playful like I suppose the Powabunga with the stability of the Line Blade optic 114, and still good when you have to go back on the slopes, They've stopped to make skis unfortunately.
ohhh sick I saw the Fat-ypus in person for the first time the other day. What a monster!!! I'm going to look up the Down Skis 135. Sounds Rad. Maybe there's some floating around out there. Thanks for your comment!
Great video man 👍 Just ordered a pair of salomon QST blanks for my big mountain chargers over the blade optics because I was worried about their durability
Ay thanks! That’s fair, you definitely want your ski to hold up all season. Let me know how you like the Blanks
@@MagicHourMediaHouse I will! So far my favorite pow ski of all time is the Bent 120. Insanely easy to slash and do anything in pow and you never stop floating
How high of a limit did the Optic have in non pow conditions? Like maybe 5+ days after a storm. Could it be the non-pow ski in a quiver if you want to charge and play a bit (but the having a high limit is the first priority)?
Also, does the Optic tip get super soft where the metal ends (AKA Mindbender 108)? Or would you call the entire ski stable?
This ski will for sure charge through chalk and chunder that you might find 5+ days after a storm, but I wouldn't call it playful. The whole ski is quite stable. For me, the tips and tails required a ton of effort in order to initiate a butter or ollie/jib in non pow conditions.
I would ride something narrower and more playful once the pow/ leftover soft snow is gone. My go to for those conditions this past year was the k2 reckoner 102
Where did you have the whitewalker mounted?
How's the float/chargeability at Sammy line compared to factory? Does the ski lose his pivoty/slashy "character" when mounted at factory? Really not sure where to mount them... Cheers!🤙
Good question, I'm not too sure, I didn't experiment with the factory mount point. I think factory is a little further back so it might ride switch a little worse. It probably won't affect the chargeability and if anything you'll float a bit more?
I think if you're getting this ski to ride like sammy, you gotta mount it at the Sammy mount point. It rode so well, I never had any regrets or noticed any downsides to mount at that spot. hope this helps! Have fun this winter! @@marc-si9ln
Thanks for the advice bro👌 I will probably mount the same as you.
Have a great season too!
Armada >> Line. It’s amazing that people even consider this a competition. Line skis are junk.
Solid review and skiing brother. Big ups!
Thanks dog! Happy skiing this year
