This song has a lot of veiled references to their success coming from a small company compared to the success of groups from the Big 4 Korean entertainment companies who can buy opportunities for their artists with their huge marketing budgets. Ice on My Teeth could be wordplay for eyes on my teeth-- in other words watch out for our bite/we're coming for you. Notice they say they bought diamonds from their dentist, but the video seems to portray them taking out the dentist to get the diamonds, i.e. on face value their success looks like everyone else's, but since their company didn't have deep pockets, they did whatever they had to for success (diamonds).
I think its also a play on the term- Put your Money where your Mouth is. Essentially to a lot of ppl in the industry, like back up your words with proof or actions. this makes sense cause ateez came from a small company and they had to earn their place in the industry.
The “draw a line on the name” lyric also refers to the rapper’s name, Song Mingi. His initials are SM and when you turn those upside down and draw a line through them, you get $ and ₩ (won and dollar sign as he says in the lyrics).
also, if u wanna see them with grillz, check out MATZ and Bouncy. ateez are very intentional w their artistry, so the fact that they didn’t wear grillz in a song called “ice on my teeth” is definitely a purposeful choice.
Just started watching your reaction videos and been enjoying the ones especially of ATEEZ. No disrespect but I was curious when you’re vibing with the beat you say “down” what is the meaning?
