This is fucking awesome. I need more like this cause today's everything is so fast paced its actually quite dull. No time to let things sink into my thoughts and assess and reassess according to life thus far. No time to compare contrast.
“A startling shocking account of what can happen to our civilization 600 years into the future and more importantly a And more importantly a warning to all of us against the destruction of moral standards, family life, & the soul of man” Oh, what could become the “brave new world” 🤔🤯
It's absolutely fantastic to hear Huxley narrating it. I think this version is probably better than the films and certainly more truthful to the book. I'm disappointed with the ending.. it's much more shocking in the book. Strumpet!
“A study of the future as it may be unless we are extremely careful, it depicts a society in which man has replaced nature by science, morality by drugs, individuality by total conformity. It is a hideous prospect yet we seem determined to follow this path of self destruction. The brave new word need not be our future, the choice after all, is always in our own hands.”
I think civilization is horrid. “And yet people are happy, they get what they want, and they never want what they can’t get, they’re well off, they’re safe, they’re never real, they’re not afraid of death, they’re blissfully ignorant of passion at old age, they’re plagued with no mother or father, got no wives or children to feel strongly about, they’re so conditioned that they practically can’t help but behave how they ought to behave, and you ask them to chuck all this away, for liberty?”
Brave New World is where we are headed. Not 1984. "I claim it all" -- one of the greatest statements of what being a man is all about in all of modern literature.
Both are happening all at once. Thought police, big brother always watching, drugs and entertainment have become the soma of the people. We are dealing with a combination of the two.
Quite good, certainly better than the complete book. The only book I have ever tried to read by this author - soooo boring (although I appreciate the concept). Maybe Huxley should have let others rewrite it and he should stick to his evil eugenics and deceitful work within the Fabian Society. And the less said about his father the better!
The book they dont want you to read, this is not Science Fiction anymore. The film in the 1970s is the best adaptation ive seen.... it is grainy and picture is poor quality. The recent HBO TV series is a watered down, bland version. This shows how sensetive this topic is. The government rather you not question and make comparisons to how we are Living in this Brave New World.
"which is in turn a reference to a line from William Shakespeare's play The Tempest (first performed around 1611)." meh... Who's to say Shakespeare wasn't referencing a New World Order!
2020 and this couldn’t be more relevant.

I love this.
Q: Why has life become so dull?
A: That’s because of the haste due to humanity being in such a damn hurry.
* there’s one to stop & make us think
thanks for sharing

LadyYukionna you 18now.. Do you still have the same point of view?
I'm 35...and I think this is one of the best books ever
read 'island' by Huxley
brilliant! where did you find this? Huxley is such a fantastic narrator...
Thanks for the upload. Be even nicer if you could add some pics that go along with the storyline.
Why doesn't this match up with my book?
UKBamagurl it's a movie

I think we are headed for a bit of both to be honest
@@Ojthemighty Not "Headed" , we're already there.
You must be living under a rock...
I'm having trouble finding part 2. Is it upoalded?
Both parts are in the same video. Its the complete (but much shortened) story from the book.
In an hour? Yeah right.
Can anyone tell me who did the art featured in this video? I would appreciate it. Thanks.
Wayne Stakem CBS Radio release. Rare record. $75 when avail. No info found about cover art. (Columbia used pool artists and rarely is credit given)

Subtle
This is really weird as most full readings of brave new world take around 7-9 hours. Trust American radio to capitalise even half a century ago.
This is a British production….
is this an old version of the book?
Ricardo Castaneda It's abridged for to make it fit an hour narration
Please, language português

"... Our Freud ... " Now there is another totally dysfunctional family (like the Huxleys) from Sygmund and Bearnaise thru to Clement and Lucian
Can anyone remember the movie where they wore a crystal around their neck, and only certain color crystal wearers could date?
I`m glad to say: sorry Mr. Huxley, you`re not right. This earth, with its 9 billion humans, is going quit well.

"Brave new world...", reference to New World Order!
"which is in turn a reference to a line from William Shakespeare's play The Tempest (first performed around 1611)."
meh... Who's to say Shakespeare wasn't referencing a New World Order!
KaOssis I think he was just talking about social engineering
Both phrases 3 words... both contain “new” and “world”... MUST BE A REFERENCE
Brave New World isn't bad if you're an Alpha.
