Wow, I love this color, it's beautiful! I also love the root color, it's not super dark and it has just the perfect amount of warmth. It really gives the whole look a gorgeous softness! You did a fantastic job with the application and also in your explanation as to what you were doing with each step! I'm also a stylist and I've always had a love for doing color. It's incredible how much the color industry has changed over the years! We can literally achieve any color and tone in the spectrum, lol!! Gotta love it!! You really do beautiful work!!! Sorry this wound up to be so long, lol. I tend to talk alot when the subject is color, lol.

I would love to see a video on how you would touch up this look when the client comes back in a month or three months. I do my own bleach and color at home. I bleach to the same lightness and add a shadow root. I only use semi-permanent colors so it all washes out by the time I will bleach again. I am too scared to use permanent b/c I have no idea how to lighten the shadow root that grows out and to match the lightness level of the mid to ends that are light. :-( Seems like a lot of work I could screw up on.

I'm currently in school for cosmetology and one of the things they teach us is that if someone comes in with more than like 1/2" of regrowth you have to apply it away from the scalp first and then go back and apply it there. I've seen a few videos now where you just go in and paint it all at the same time, and get even lift. I want to know what makes that technique work for you? I even showed one of your videos to my teacher and she was like, how, is it the bleach?

love this... cannot believe how healthy her hair looked after.... I'm a brunette with dk br color and #'s attempts to take me there has left my very long hair a mess! It's always in a bun and now contemplating cutting it off. I'm 55 with the grays really coming in so that was my thought process of going with the beautify grays but thinking a buzz cut and start from scratch if I want it 😣

Her hair is only severely damaged at the ends. Too many scraggly layers. He did a fantastic job on smoothing out that mess. The color is amazing. Excellent job! I'd hire this guy in a heartbeat!
Why would you use the DD (dimensional demi) on the root, then permanent color on the ends? Does not make sense to me.

You bleach the hair onto the scalp. May I ask why? Usually you bleach away from the roots first then when your done the mishaps and ends then you go back to bleach the roots. TIA for the clarification. Appreciate it.

Can't believe shadow root is popular , used to be you needed a root touch up.
Why couldn't you just leave her natural dark root instead and do babylights or color melt it to the end blonde result. I dont get why bleaching her entire root to then adding a dark root again?
Cos the root he created was lighter, and silvery. So he needed a lighter base and free of warmth
The color also sticks better to bleached hair compared to virgin hair.
it makes for a more natural root to go with the new hair color. That dark root would be hideous.

I’m trying to learn how to formulate and it’s pretty scary as a new stylist in the salon to try and formulate even though people are helping you, it just doesn’t make sense when the explain!
Nina Ayala take your time, and just keep experimenting. Color is so much fun. It's so much more than just a tube and developer. All of my colors are custom blends now. I always know when to add shots of color pigment. It's all from practice and learning your color line. It's so important to find one you like, and stick to it. My absolute favorite, is Guy Tang's Mydentity. Best color line I've ever used, and I'm now learning all over again now that I've switched to it! So worth it tho! Every color is gorgeous, and it has mega staying power! My clients are all men who wash every day, color still on point after two weeks of daily washing!
Use models . I've been in the business over 30 years, while doing something new I use a model. If it goes wrong they can't ask for money back lol.

I do add Olaplex to my lightener and I totally understand why you didn’t in this video, I really think I would love to try this lightener. Also the toners sound great! I love the idea of reconditioning the hair while repigmenting it! ☺️ I also love how you ‘melt’ the colours together! Beautiful!
Question: which colour(s) in the line would you use on pre lightened hair; to do a still cool and bright level 10/9, but more beige or sandy blonde, with a level 7/6 ashey but not grey, smudge root? Thanks in advance! ☺️

nicole elizabeth nope. when applying on virgin hair, you start in the back, which is the darkest, most dense hair. the hair in front, especially around the face, is fine and processes faster than the back.

I want to get the whole shadow root thing in my hair buttttt if I'm supposed to be bleaching my roots every 4 weeks does that mean I'd have to get the entire shadow root done again every 4 weeks too?
It all depends on what color you choose to have as your shadow root. For most people the point of a shadow root or a smudge root is to blend their natural root color with whatever color they have on the ends. Then as your hair grows it still blends nicely. But if you're wanting your shadow root to not be your natural hair color, then yes you'll have to touch it up every few weeks. :)

So… Her native hair color is about a seven you bring it up with bleaching to 10… Only to bring the roots back down to an eight!?

I did this last night and it looks beautiful. The colour on the roots is lush. The blonde on the ends is a little dull for me though. Next time is there a way I can keep white bright blonde on ends instead of a grey? How would I blend it also! Thank you

nicole elizabeth not for hair that has color or bleach on it. this rat tail comb is for highlights (foiling). a plastic rat tail, specifically a wide tooth rat tail is preferred for color or bleach application. this video has so many wrongs.

Great color! Question, how do you know what shade of blonde would look best on various skin tones?
Jessica R use your color wheel. Olive green skin, for example, would look horrible with ash tones, but very neutral and natural with red tones. It's all about balance.
Jessica R you can even see it in this video. She looked so red at the beginning of the video, but after the color was completed, she looked so neutral. Could have been a difference in makeup, but my eye is telling me it's the color mixing correctly with her skin tones.

Ricky Fonseca I agree but I think it’s the coloring of the make up. Her make up looks better with the ash tone that it did with the yellow hair... but it still about the coloring 👍😊

Matt are you familiar with paul Mitchell color line? Our salon uses it and I've been dying to figure out a good toner that will leave it that beautiful ashy almost silvery blonde everyone wants right now..... all the formulas I see are the good ole redskin shades 9t 9p 9v lol... the ones I've tried seem to fade so quick to warm or are like level 9 dark not that really white bright ashy
Emma Dear Paul Mitchell is so far behind other color lines. I used to used it like it was the end all, be all. Until I experimented with other lines; joico, schwartzcopf, and even redken blow it away. However, they're ALL put to shame by Guy Tang's Mydentity. Every color and toner is absolutely amazing. So in love with it, and so are my clients, they're all very happy I made the switch.

Hey Emma! In Paul Mitchell I like the PA Series and the 10 Series in the Demi
Emma Dear Have a client.Been using 9N+ with 30vol.She pulls a bit yellow.But likes the color.Looks like a 10N.9N back underneath.
She wanted to be silvery today.She is already light. I used 9N+ with HLA and 30 on root. Streaked threw the Ash Toner with 5vol on dry hair.Her roots were still a bit warm but the rest of her hair was a beautiful silvery shade. Im going to use 10A on her roots next time. The A series has that nice grey under tones.
@@FreeSalonEducation Yes, I did try PA it works. Also, they have ultra blue and ultra violet. I find that these gel toners including shades EQ are fading. I am going to try your formula with joico lumishine permanent color s with 5V.
Just one question- why dont you measure the product?
@nicole elizabeth yes, I get that ratios are different for different color lines... I mean, why does he not weigh or measure out how much developer he is using and how much powder. He cant get the ratio correct if he doesnt weigh. He is only eyeballing it. It's not completely accurate.
@@dixierosestudios because MANY hairstylist eyeball lightners. They usually know what consistency they like for what type of technique they use. Some use measurements.
