As a turkish guy, I really like this song. It reminds me how we fought and pushed all of europe for centuries only to be stopped at the last place we could feasibly conquer without moving our capital. This song also makes me sad about the fate of poland just a few decades after this war, where they came to rescue Austrians only to be partitioned by them. We always respect good warriors, and after their partition ottoman sultan in every international meeting, would ask, "Leh elçisi nerdedir?" Which means "where is the Polish representative?" And his advisers would always answer "they should arrive soon" word for word. This interaction went on for about 150 years, and whenever the meeting was in Istanbul, they would always have an empty chair for polish representative to emphasise that they never accepted the partition of poland. Just as a wise man once said, "Friendship and enmity of the Turks is unique, and the choice is yours." Glory to polish friends
More like the Battle of the Pelennor Fields (Minas Tirith) ---the city besieged, freed by the timely arrival of the best cavalry in the world (or in Middle Earth.) And I do believe Tolkien took inspiration from the siege of Vienna and the Winged Hussars when he wrote about the battle for Minas Tirith.
Definitely one of my top 5 Sabaton songs, incredibly powerful. There is no denying that Tolkien was inspired by this battle when writing his masterpiece. Great reaction as always
I'm 1000% with you on the helms deep thing, my god can you imagine being a defender of Vienna, your walls are being breached you're all but doomed and cavalry with literal wings come charging down the mountainside to save you. Feels like it's taken right out of a fantasy novel, but it happened!
Well yeah, the battle of Helm's deep was based loosely on this battle. There used to be a LOTR fan video as well as a GOT (Battle of the Bastards) fan video with this song too
When i first learned about the charge this song was about i did some quick math because i was curious just how big a 18000 horse calvary charge wouls be. And it came out to roughly 7 football fields (not just width, the whole field depth as well.)
Army of kings is an accurate term because in those times being Winged Hussar was an achievement itself. You needed to be a very wealthy dude to have that kind of armor, horse, servants - all stuff that was needed on war, and they were not lonely knights back then.
Fun fact about the line "Army of Kings". It likely is a reference to political system of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwelath. Winged Hussars were 100% made of nobles, which were making some 10 to 15% of the total population. All nobles were equell, having the same rights to politics as well as to being elected as a king (It was elective monarchy after all.) So considering each noble could theoreticly become a king and had political power in pseudo democratic system of the Commonwealth, all those Winged Hussars were basicly like kings.
Good reaction, took your advice & looked at your playlist. Can I add Hearts of Iron to your list. Tells about the German army at the end of the war, ignoring Hitlers orders to save berlin..
I love this song! Thanks for your honest reaction! It's a pity you cannot see properly this hill from todays Kahlenberg Hill in Vienna... I visited the church Jan III Sobieski attended the Holy Mass before going down the mountinside. Than the Winged Hussards arrived!
Tolkien based the helm's deep battle on the 2nd siege of Vienna thats why u have the LotR vibes :) 2nd siege of Vienna looked like in LotR but instead of orc there was turkish army, and there was no wizard/dwarfs/elfs (just Polish/German army). Rest is the same (also the big mine/bomb)
The picture that you are looking at mate is the album cover, it depicts characters from every song on the album. The majority of there videos that only show the words to the songs only show this album cover. There is videos of the songs that were actually made, you would have to just look for them but they are there. Sabaton is the greatest band on the planet and for Veterans and us who are interested in history especially military history they are the perfect band plus they are European just like me. Thank you for your comment. It was as you wrote it. The Ottoman Empire was a respected foe. Greetings from Poland.
I think this event was an inspiration for the battle of helm's deep
It was 100%. I was hoping people would mention that. It was an excellent catch on his part. 😂😂
It was ...
Also the Rohirrim are based on the winged hussars

@@Nunevenit is probably both, the siege of vienna was famous for the ottoman’s use of mines, just like helms deep

Ko zna....ali Tolkien je bio u bitci kod Somme u ww1
You're actually on point with the battle of Helm's Deep, because Tolkien was inspired by the charge of Hussars during the siege of Vienna.
and many other things in the moveis was inspired from real life battles and Storys ..

If I remember correctly the battle of Helms Deep was inspired by the siege of Vienna.

I am absolutely ecstatic that your finally doing this one, keep up the incredible reactions jammer!
my favourite sabatons song
Hey man great reaction again! recommend Sabaton Back in Control!
Truely was an army of kings, the winged hussars were mostly polish nobleman, because the armory and weapons were very expensive for example
I appreciate your consistency with the Sabaton reactions.🤘
My recommendation for you is that you react to Sparta by Sabaton, very powerful song and has a unique rythm on its own.
Good reaction, took your advice & looked at your playlist. Can I add Hearts of Iron to your list. Tells about the German army at the end of the war, ignoring Hitlers orders to save berlin..

It's a pity you cannot see properly this hill from todays Kahlenberg Hill in Vienna...
I visited the church Jan III Sobieski attended the Holy Mass before going down the mountinside.
Than the Winged Hussards arrived!
As someone raised Catholic, boy, that must've been the longest mass in the world.
