Put the 10 growers in a room and you will get 10 different ways to grow. Do some research and start growing. That’s the best way to gain the experience you need. Personally I trim my outdoor I don’t lollipop them. I don’t think it’s necessary but everyone has their own way. That’s why I love gardening. There are no rules to this I think Cali green said that. Shout out to my fellow gardeners. Grow slow and enjoy.

Exactly, it's just gaining information and experimenting with techniques until you find a set of techniques that best suit you. I'm a newish grower, been growing a little under a year and every run I'm doing things just a little differently to see what works best. I been gardening for a few years though, so it's kinda the same concept of learning.

Haha very true. Ya do what works best for you. Personally, I do lollipop outdoors a little. Only to make sure to keep it clean and avoid leaves off the soil and I admit for ornamental reasons. I think it looks cool haha

Yea I did lollipop my outdoor plants, but I have the most coolest natural outdoor hydroponic system growing, so of course I have normal hydroponic system man made, but I thought to myself, this idea came from somewhere, someone discovered that plants can grow that way. So long story long, ..I found a covert that has natural spring mountain water with pH of 6 ...so I'm going along this creek mining gold. Panning whatever. And noticed that in this creek , there were little water channels that run underground beside the actual stream...I seen some very robust plants growing over the tunnel of water. So I got to thinking hey if there is a underground water tunnel that has fresh moving water with proper PH ..why not grow my pot there. So I did.. the roots have grown down to the water channel I can get down and look into the channel with a flash light and see the roots , the plant is booming ! Growing very fast. Only problem is that during rains the top soil gets wet and the plant will look over hydrated for a minute. But as soon as the Sun comes out to dry the top soil, the plant is like WOOHOO! This is just a project to see how well this works. I will give updates

That's nicely done man. Us outdoor growers have experienced feeling bad about taking potential decent buds. In my opinion in the region I'm growing in we hit first frost somewhere in early October. If the ventilation is open then the plants can push through that with the warmth of the day. If the air doesn't flow through then we have strong potential of mold. You are doing exactly what I've done for many years with great success in quality. Also a lot easier to clean big buds on the tip than a bunch of popcorn throughout. Well done my man, great videos especially with the living soil.. Peace and love to you and your garden.

@@trickydickie1988 Hey man, I just wanted to clarify the question of growing in the mountains. Where I grow is 3 miles from the American /Canadian border north of Idaho. You may have heard of the Kootenays, if not its well known for cannabis cultivation. I think we are at about 1800 ft above sea level and on the western side of the Rocky mountain range. It's the perfect climate to grow fruit of all kinds so hand in hand with cannabis. I would like to know about growing outdoors in the south eastern area of America. It blows my mind how adapted to almost every climate these plants can grow in.. All the best to you and keep your thumb green., ✌️👍

Awesome. I’m feeling better about pruning for light penetration and air flow. I figured if leaves are sitting on each other, it will take them longer to dry when wet (especially when morning dew hits). I noticed some leaves were doing this and midday they were still wet… so I got rid of one and kept the other 😂
As a new grower, I’ve been kinda precious about my plants, but visually, it looks like I’m they’re doing very well (overall)

I prefer them in the saucers so I can move them around. Them being on the concrete sidewalk slabs has absolutely zero effect on the plant growth. I’ve been doing it this way for years.
That said, I will be moving them all to the grass soon as they start to get bigger.

Anything growing at the bottom does not 'suck energy' from the plant. The plant grows from the top and works its way down until the flowering hormone (florigen) has run its course. The bottom branches only get the leftovers, that's why they are small and undeveloped.

Same boat for me bro, I use water crystals mixed into the soil, and I have a 2-3 inch layer of sugar cane or straw mulch around the plants and they usually only get watered once a week in summer, and at end of flower I often dont water for the last 2 or sometimes even 3 weeks before harvest as its cooled off so much the soil doesnt dry out enough to need a water. Ive left them for 10 days before with no water with temps averaging over 30C and they were fine. And yeah I dont de fol as much out doors as I do indoors as more leaves + more shade to protect the plant from the heat, we get over 40C here often and my plants dont mind it as long as its a strain that doesnt mind heat. Sour diesel LOVES the heat. Most hazes do too, but they grow large and take ages to flower. Go for strains that are 50/50 indica to sativa or 60/40 sativa to indica and heat wont bother them as much as pure indicas.

Get some shade cloth. I use 30% shade here in Michigan during those hot flowering days. During vege I've had them up to 123 Fahrenheit.. of course I didn't want them but now I know.

I leave the plant untouched when outdoor growing. I use automatics. Crop the tops first, then leave the rest of the plant for 3-5 weeks. All them lower buds get big.

I've gone to not trimming, leave the undeveloped buds in place and remove the tops. You now have a mature root system supporting the remaining and diminished canopy and it responds amazingly;lots of very robust new growth and those lil popcorn buds grow big and fat and very thick w/ trichs due to a mature root system on a small top...that eventually yields 1/2 or more of what first harvest is and in a matter of several weeks. I do this 3-4X w/ autos.

    • @JFEnterprize
      @JFEnterprize 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

I’d guess if in a colder climate that wouldn’t be doable. Perhaps with autos as you prob get earlier flowering with it it’s possible tho.

@@JFEnterprize We have a 4-5 month outdoor grow season. I will thin them out but I don’t top them. I’ve never had luck with topping or heavy trimming. The secret is good nutrients and lots of water.

For the extreme heat cover the base of your plants with something, blocking the sunlight to the pot, just like the people in the desert cover their heads. I used an old bed sheet,it is very effective.
Doing that you can water your plants even in the hot.
