CEC missed their first chance at a retro store years back. I remember commenting on a video about the downfall of CEC, this has to be back in 2014/2015, and how at that time they were really struggling to find a way to rebrand themselves. I said that they are dropping the ball by not capitalizing on the nostalgia gold mine that they were sitting on. You had a generation of kids who grew up going to Pizza Time Theater and would adore at the chance to take theirs kids to do the same! How they could make a new type of museum, called a "Fun-seum", where the entire place is retrofitted to become an old school Pizza Time Theater, but at the same time has a museum of its history scatted throughout with, showcased to the patrons through interactive experiences . Bring back the portrait bots with a rotating guest star. Cabaret room, etc........Even better, have a bar built into the place and on Friday and Saturday nights turn it into a nightlife spot. Have a Wolfmann Zapp animatronic that is hidden in the wall during the week make an appearance for the weekend and change the CEC show to have more adult humor and music.
I think they would've been fine if they just kept the 2d chuck design and Duncan as the voice actor, and just keep on moving with the design, and I feel as if they should've come up with a new band of animatronics to bring more attention to their restaurant, it's sad how 2015 was the grave for cec being for everyone and just crisped itself to be wE oNlY lIkE tHE BaBIes AnD lOvE PooR StAfF tO mAke uS lOoK bAd, which yea after the pandemic and 2.0 remodel my locals pizza tastes absolutely horrible than when i lasted visited in 2017
I'm not really 100% sure about that. Pineville was suppose to be in the video as the stage pic was in the original thumbnail but from hearing the store is already under the remodel but then again, we're not 100% sure if this is true. Now a topic about seeing if Pineville will be the next retro store on the podcast is a bit up for grabs

I feel like it was an amazing idea that they kept the animatronics at northridge, but they should’ve at least kept SOME of the artwork if they wanted it to stay “aesthetic” I’m not really sure about pineville since I can already see some comments about that, but like you said, anything is possible. So HOPEFULLY CEC can at least try to save some of the stages despite efforts to destroy their own property. Regardless, I hope you make the pineville video soon and I love the information you provided us!
