I knew WAYNE WRIGHT from my town of Whitestone New York where he lived 9 blocks from me - - He would pick me up and we would go to FAT TUESDAY'S in N.Y.C. where WAYNE WRIGHT was LES PAUL'S rhythm guitarist - And MARTY GROSZ I knew from when I lived in his town PIERMONT ,N.Y. - up the Hudson river - WOW what great days and nights they were -
I first listened to this duo over 30 years ago. Great to be reminded of their consummate skills and to see them in action together for the first time. My, do they swing. Beautiful harmonies, each song a work of art in its own right. Never over-played or too flashy. If you've got more like these please, please add. Much appreciated.
I am so happy to bring this music forward after all these years. The tape is most likely dust by now. Wayne passed quite a while ago. Greatness lives on!

I can't tell you how thrilled I am to find this, not ever having heard Marty's LP's with Wayne, which unfortunately have yet to be transferred to CD. Absolutely magnificent stuff -- many thanks for sharing this!

It is a very rare television performance (perhaps the only one?)of two fabulous jazz guitarists from over 40 years ago. Use your bass and treble controls ..?

Amazing find here! A chat with my guitar repairman who just happened to name Marty and that’s all it took. I’m hooked now. Reel me in!

So happy you appreciate these guys and the art that emerges when two guitar geniuses work together to form the third entity .. BZ
