  • Under the theme “The Interplay of Painting and Writing”, invited speakers will examine the multiple interplay between painting and writing.
    In this episode, Professor Qiu Zhenzhong examines several core issues regarding the relationship between calligraphy and painting, such as "Do calligraphy and painting share the same origin, or do they adopt the same method?" and " Writing and Modern Art." He provides an in-depth analysis of the characteristics of calligraphy art, offering us a deeper perspective on the interaction between calligraphy and painting. Topics include "How Calligraphy has become an art form of expressing the most complex human mentality" and "The differences between Chinese Calligraphy and Japanese Shodo."
    Speakers
    Qiu Zhenzhong, Professor and Doctoral Advisor at Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing. He serves as a member of the Academic Committee of the Chinese Calligraphers Association. He is also the director of the Center for Comparative Studies of Calligraphy and Painting at Central Academy of Fine Arts. He has been invited multiple times to lecture in countries such as Japan, the United States, and South Korea. His notable works include "The Forms and Interpretations of Calligraphy," "Chinese Calligraphy: Analysis and Training of Techniques," and "An Introduction to Calligraphy Aesthetics”.
