- Welcome back to Bradley Brothers Bushcraft!!
In this video we checked out the Shandaken Wild Forest Allaben Parcel for some free primitive camping in the Catskill Mountains. There are 8 campsites here that are easily accessible either by car or from the parking lot near by. There is also a port-a-potty near by during camping season. These campsites are cozy and located right off the highway. Enjoy the Adventure!!

You guys are super entertaining. I'm gonna need you to get out more frequently filming more videos.
Thank you!!! That is very kind of you to say!! We will try to get out more regularly 🫡
Very good camping location, peaceful forest, far from the city crowds of course the air here is cleaner.
Couldn’t agree more!
@@williampennjr.4448 It was rocky and plenty of weeds. these are considered "primitive" campgrounds. welcome to the woods! :)
Very nice video.
Thank you!!😁
Looked like you guys had a great time!
It was a good time at a great spot 👍
Great one !
Thank you!!
Cool! I wanna try to go there too.
You should check it out! It would make a good base camp while exploring other places in the Catskills
What up ? Nice spot ya got, meat an potato looked great.
Whatup thanks Matt!! We Finally got around to posting one haha
shweet video guys !! i want to go camping to that site. seems better than woodland valley campground.
Thanks for the comment and the sub means a lot to us 👍 and we haven’t been to woodland valley but maybe we’ll check it out and do a comparison. This place was great though, you should definitely check it out!
Cool channel guys! Keep it up
Thanks chris!! 💪 👍
Hi. Thinking of heading there this weekend. Is the road the same as allaben campground?
Check if the coordinates from the video description match the ones you’re looking at
Good video
How close where fellow campers or did you guys feel like your on your own.
You get a decent amount of space with trees in between all the sites. Sorry! Just saw this comment!!
Is is pronounced Shan Da kin.
FYI
The blue tarp you are using asa Footprint under your tent should not be wider than the tent, any water running off the tent will pool onto the tarp and under the tent floor.
Tuck it under so water falling off the tent goes into the ground.
It rained the night we filmed this and chris tent started leaking at the seams immediately 😂 😂 he was sleeping in the car way before a puddle could form underneath him. He learned the hard way!! 🤣🤣 Thank you for watching and thanks for commenting!!! Happy trails!! 😊 😃
@@BradleyBrothersBushcraft I know that spot well, a little close to the main road for me (Route 28) but a nice spot for an overnight or to fish the Esopus Creek across the road.
I camped in the Peekamoose area (Sundown Wild Forest) for years, you may want to check it out. I have camped there in all four seasons.
Happy Camping guys
@@williamlopez3910 we have camped on sundown Wild Forest down near Wawarsing!! We definitely have to checkout the peekamoose area!! Thank you for the tip!!
What a spot. ATB. Grays
Awesome guys! Did you have to make a reservation to keep the place for yourself? Thanks!
These sites are first come, first serve. So if you’re going on a weekend I would suggest getting there early Friday morning. We went again 2 weeks ago and we’re lucky to get a spot at campsite number 1 early on Saturday morning
@@BradleyBrothersBushcraft Thank you for the information! I’m looking forward to start camping as well. I am tired and sick of New York City.
@@BradleyBrothersBushcraft Thanks again! Do you happen to know the coordinates for campsite # 1 or how to get there? I saw # 4 on google maps but can’t find # 1. Thanks!
@@alexandercuello3168 yeah we have maps and coordinates. Do you have Instagram? If you follow us there we can share everything through DM
@@BradleyBrothersBushcraft Thanks! Yes I’ll look for you in instagram.
the people want more Australian chris brad
He’s an Aussie at heart
THE KIT KAT
🤣🤣🤣
Great video! Did you need to book in advance?
Nope! These sites are first come, first serve. Make sure to have a back up plan 👍
Can you have rv’s here?
Thanks in advance.
These are primitive campsites so there are no rv hook ups. I wouldn’t recommend bringing an RV here
Do you have to reserve these?
Nope they’re first come, first serve
So... do we know what was making that zombie sound? 19:10
We never found out….
How likely is it to encounter a bear in this area?
This is right next to the highway, so use your best judgement. In the Catskill mountains it is always best to be prepared for an encounter even if it is not likely. Percentage wise? Who’s to say
More likely you'll encounter a creepster than a bear in the Catskills, especially at these primitive campsites which require no registration or payment.
Indian??????????
The Big Indian Wilderness located in the heart of the Catskills Mountains!! 😁
Jeffrey
No outhouse?
There was a porta-potty a few campsites over and it’s there during the summer/fall
@@williampennjr.4448 If you watch the video at 19:05 we confirm that this site is indeed haunted. Sorry bout itttt
