First heard this girl on NTS Radio. Her voice could stop a tsunami, honestly god bless her angelic voice. Absolute queen of a woman, reincarnate me to this please.
What is this, what is this? This gloominess is so I saw you, I saw you But all four shoulders were stone cold It happens, It happens Almost every time I try to hold onto Things that aren't even mine But my life it is good And I have what I need And sometimes the wind And sometimes the sea A few crumbly bridges Between you and me To mend or to move on? To fix or to flee? 'Cos we used to be brothers But people leave each other, don't they? Now I've lost you, I've lost you We floated away But my life it is good And I have what I need And sometimes the wind And sometimes the sea And often the rain And slightly the sun And sometimes I sit still But mostly I run
Kate's got one of those voices that is so clear, so clean, so precise and so, so lovely. No reverb required. I saw them doing a soundcheck once and she asked the engineer for "dry, as dry as you can". An outstanding voice. IMHO.
Love the lyrics Kate: "but my life it is good, & I have what I need; & sometimes the wind, & sometimes the sea; & often the rain, & slightly the sun; & sometimes I sit still, but mostly I run". The sliding guitar sounds make me remember my student days with early Verve records!
You've just made me think of Life's An Ocean... I know the songs are nothing like each other, but when you said sliding guitar and Verve... Well, Life's An Ocean!
I had a chance to see her and hear her angelic voice yesterday at Louvre: Peer Gynt /E. Grieg. She has a wonderful presence on the stage, her interpretation of songs is fine and always remarkable. her voice!!!!! you can judge by yourself.... but it is so much better in life :)

What is this, what is this?
This gloominess is so
I saw you, I saw you
But all four shoulders were stone cold
It happens, It happens
Almost every time
I try to hold onto
Things that aren't even mine
But my life it is good
And I have what I need
And sometimes the wind
And sometimes the sea
A few crumbly bridges
Between you and me
To mend or to move on?
To fix or to flee?
'Cos we used to be brothers
But people leave each other, don't they?
Now I've lost you, I've lost you
We floated away
But my life it is good
And I have what I need
And sometimes the wind
And sometimes the sea
And often the rain
And slightly the sun
And sometimes I sit still
But mostly I run
Shout out to the bassist for this cool chorus.
Gorgeous - There is no better band/collective currently performing. In my humble. They can do no wrong for me. And Kate is very special.
Whilst I agree, my only regret is that at live gigs she comes across a bit full of herself and a tiny bit arrogant.
This song and some help from a friend literally helped me get over some crap between me and my brother.
I have discovered this is the Kit today!!! Lucky me!!!

I saw them supporting the national as well in London, I don't usually enjoy support acts, but I really liked these guys, really like them :)
The singer reminds me a bit of the late great Sandy Denny, lovely little band....

This is grooving out of the pan, as they say in Dutch.
Hi! Does anyone know where to find the chords or guitare tabs for the song?
It's sooo lovely, I love it and I just want to sing it!!!
superb as always 😀
lots of guitars but who is playing the bass ?
🐂💨💨💨💨💨💨
that would be the incredible Rasha Shaheen, also a member of The Liftmen with 3 other members of this band
Jesse : cheers 😀
🐂💨💨💨💨💨💨💨
What effect are they using from around 0:57?
If they ever consider doing any covers, they'd nail a bit of Pentangle.
Kate has sunk into my marrow
the female guitarist has a crush on the singer ^^
Sandy Denny reborn
Call bela fleck
she reminds me of Rory Gallagher.
