I gotta be honest, guys: I didn’t enjoy the last episode (with the guest). It just wasn’t the same kind of show. I fully understand I may be in the minority, and that’s OK. Just providing feedback (since you asked). Love the show and it has been a big help as I get into the watch world.
I loved the show with the guest. You could see he was authentic and passionate and you guys were sincere in wanting to chat through watch advice. If only my budget was the same…. If it was, I’d have gone the VC that Adrian put forward.
I'm 100% onboard with relaunching James Bond and having it take place in the early 60's. I would enjoy the hell out of watching Bond with cars (and other vehicles), suits, watches, technology and music from that era. I think a good director and lead actor could have a lot of fun with that.
I’d love for more guests on a limited basis. It was fun seeing a non-watch nerd’s approach to watches. We get too up our own asses. I like the deep dive watch nerd content but it’s fun to get other view points.
Agreed. I like the diversity in thoughts from a non watch nerd perspective. I think they did do a good job in not inundating the guest with TOO many options which would not have been helpful.
Can we take a moment to appreciate Bamford’s genius creative on Fassbender and a 60s re-bond-re-boot? Absolutely modern vintage…..how timely and fitting !
I ordered two Blok watches for my kids……they love them! New smaller bands make them ideal for my youngest. Thank you AEF crew and Neil for introducing me to these watches!
If I may, and as someone who has spent almost a decade of their life in the watch collecting hobby, I still value the need to be subjective in answering the question of people who are getting into watches. There are so many reasons why someone would get into watches, and as a watch enthusiast, my main goal in helping them would be figuring out what makes them tick. The last episode was about guiding a certain person with a certain want towards a watch that they will love. Now watch that we hope that they will wear, and they will build a relationship with, and ultimately a passion. Recognizing that the last episode was not for all, I do share that I enjoyed it in that the team was presented with a request and they did their best to create another watch lover in the process.
Wow, thank you once again for the blok watch AET, and Neil! Super grateful, My son is ecstatic about his newest aquisition. Great episode, Great Sentiment.
Love the show guys! Got my 10 year old son his first watch for Christmas, a Blok 33 in Jet Black/Sand, based on George bringing it up last season as his BYOI. He loves it and has had it on his wrist everyday since getting it. Really hard to find a real watch that actual fits his wrist, so thanks for the recommendation! Keep up the great work boys!
So happy to see Neil in the show! I used Blok watches as a case study example for people who wants to understand what Design Thinking is all the time. Neil is a genius.
I bought a Blok watch for my son as a Christmas present. I ordered it in October. What was most rewarding was that he immediately wanted to put it on and has worn it more than any other watch he has. I also told him about he could use it to measure the passage of time. Very cool watch for kids and a great entry for bringing him into the watch love asylum.
Most people think people everyone will like what they like or are deluded enough to think what they want is the only right choice. You guys did the recommendation right. Get to know the person, ask questions, and recommend something they would like.
Finally watching this and hearing Andrew talking about Blok watches at the end here and I have to say thanks to AET my son wears a Blok watch and loves watches.
I think the episode with lucien was really interesting, I loved it. From time to time you can have a special guest and either talk about his/her´s collection or picking watches fot him/her. Greetings from Prague, Czech rep.
Great show as always! Would love Casio G Shock anniversary to go big on multiple big brand collabs + reverse collabs. Imagine affordable G Shock x Richard Mille as well as a hyper-watch Richard Mille x G Shock.
Love the show guys. I know logistics are challenging but the in person shows are more appealing to watch than the remote meetings. Great discussions and thanks for the content.
This is a great podcast. Only feedback maybe is not to interrupt each other as much. At 14:42 one of the speakers was completely interrupted mid thought.
I enjoyed the guest episode and would like to have it more sporadically. I also like it when the guest isn't a watch nerd, maybe having guests at different budgets if they're looking for a watch recommendation?
I think George is right. There is a big market for watches linked to travel, adventure, sport. For me Tag always fit this need when I was surfer/windsurfer/mountain biker. Omega was always for old guys and Rolex for fat golfers.
Ever since I saw Tom Hiddleston in The Night Manager (brilliant show), I always thought he would be the best next Bond. First time I’ve heard someone else suggest him, love it.
I know I'm very late to the party, but a Bel Canto based on its personal story, and also an amazing middle finger to the watch hypers on the red carpet, but still, your recs were awesome guys. Happy new year, and hope you had a fantastic Christmas
Great session guys. I wouldn’t worry too much about justifying the Lucian brief, the great thing about watches is it’s all about personal taste and opinions. Considering he was fresh to the watch world, your choices were solid.
I liked the guest on the show, especially when they don't really know that much about watches. It's interesting learning how non watch people look at things, and as a salesman it helps me learn what people may actually want to know rather than the nerdy stuff. Also Charlie Cox should be the next bond
Hey guys, loved the show, the episode with Lucien was megacool. I think the VC would be my choice. As for the next Bond, I vote for Hardy with ATJ as the bad guy. Salut from Malta :)
I'm down with GB's suggestion to take 007 back in time, instead of constantly moving forward. I also suggested taking back 007 to 60s era in other video comments when asked about future Bond movies and what would I pick as a Bond watch. And, why not go back in time (not in the sci-fi time travel sense)? Honestly, Bond is timeless and ageless, nobody ever questions why Commander Bond is still in active service just as he was 60 year ago, he doesn't get old, ever. So, he can practically exist in any time period. As such, sorry Omega, I would go back to a Rolex.. my personal choice for a Bond watch for a Bond from the 60s would be the rare Explorer Dial Submariner.. sorry, forgot the ref. But, u guys know the one. It would be perfect blend between big screen Bond watch we saw early on and Ian Fleming's own Rolex Explorer which he was known to wear.
I'm late on the comments, but GOD YES About Booking Time Collab... If my son, who has dyspraxia, won't wear it. I sure as well will until the time he's ready!
I mentioned this in the stream yesterday, but I wanted to draw it to @Adrian Barker's attention. After seeing Adrian's video on the Hamilton Khaki Field mechanical last year, I started saving for that very watch and yesterday I bought it. I started watching videos like Adrian's and AET's because when my grandfather passed away from Covid, I received some of his watches and I realised that beyond being an amazing tailor, he had made his own forays into the realm of horology. All of my other watches, apart from a Casio F-91W that I gave to my son last year, have been gifts or inheritances, so I feel that the Hamilton is my first real foray into watch collecting and it is down to the strength of that video. Next? The Hamilton Khaki Murph (38mm) perhaps, or the Baltic HMS-002 (thanks to Andrew's recommendation in his top 10 watches under $1000 dollars in 2021).
Bit late to the party… Firstly Adrian hope you’re feeling better… prediction Precious Metal Sky-Dweller on Jubilee and with them being able to do platinum fluted bezel on the day date don’t think it’ll be long until they do a Platinum Sky Dweller with ice blue dial, maybe a sub £4K limited availability Rolex Oyster Quartz has a hype watch… Henry Cavill for Bond… sub 5k watch Tudor Black Bay Pro on Barker & Jack Nato… would just love a Apple Band don’t need to screen, just fitness/heart tracking when wearing a watch and loved the special guest episode 👍🏻
Not sure why Adrian is shocked with the Speedmaster price increase, the whole market has jumped significantly. In fact the hesalite has gone up from $5,250 in 2018 to $6,400 in 2022 which is less than 25% total, while E.g Rolex has increased price 2 to 3 times compounding every year the past 5+ plus, no complaints on that I guess. All major swiss watches have gone up in price significantly.
Watch theft is interesting to me, I hear everyone’s all about it but never had an issue on my end thankfully. I wear my pieces all the time and whenever I travel. Europe/South America etc.
There are a couple brands that have done kind of what the moonswatch did but more along the lines of recycled materials. Maurice lacroix aikon tide, shinola sea creatures. Hublot could totally do this and it could be between 500-1k and would fly off the shelves.
I would love to see IWC colab with G-Shock for a resin Big Pilot, could make it in so many cool colors and get the whole moonswatch multi colorscheme hype going and throw them at the market at like $500.
Great episode. 2 points for my 50p worth: 1. A perpetual for an admitted newbie? Plus he's an actor so by definition this can't be a daily wear for him. I've been in the game for a decade and I'm not ready to rock a perpetual on rotation - too complex I'd be worried it would scare him off! Chronograph is an easy in, so perhaps the Daytona (bit boring) but the Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Chrono maybe? Or the Moser Chrono? 2. Guest episodes I think would work well, as the entire premise of your show is "you don't fucking agree on stuff" and that USP would spice up interviews. Next guest to pick a watch for... Nico L... 😂😂 🤙🏻
I'm OK with guest thing but just occasionally. The problem is your previous content is such of a high standard and not easy to keep raising the bar. No harm in trying new things. But have fun trying and I'm in for the ride.
Hi guys my prediction for this year is the 39 mm Pelagos with green dial & bezel. Also I agree with Adrian on the best watch for 5k but if it must be under 5k then I’d say Tudor Pelagos 42mm in blue. That’s a cool watch in my opinion.
Thank you for putting together all the fun content gentlemen! As an honest fan I wanted to share a quick thought: sometimes the ganging up on Adrian comes across as a bit more mean than funny, and it’s been putting me a little off at times over the last few episodes. Don’t think you need it at all. Plus he’s actually got some pretty great watches. Thanks again and look forward to the next one!
While talking about predictions: Could the new Bond be wearing a new Railmaster? The Railmaster needs to be launched as a separate line and what revival would it be for Bond to wear the ultimate tool-watch.
Legitimate question, why did you guys stop making podcasts? I think if you just used the audio of of your episodes it would make for great content, thanks in advance ✌️
As far as predictions and what Moonswatch did…what about an AP x Casio g-shock Royal Oak…casio already has it, AP would redesign the dial to be more Royal Oak’ish
George hasn't got anything on me when it comes to Bond in his house, since I have Australia's Biggest Bond collection and the biggest in the Sothern Hemisphere!!,
Guys come one, I oppose this Endurance Pro slander😂. It’s my first premium watch and I love it. Is it worth the price? Probably not. But it’s on of the more exciting watches provided by the premium brands but it may be just my favoritism
While I'd be down with a G-SHOCK collab that breaks society (gimme a 5600 solar that can count steps x play 1 small music playlist pleeeeeeease Casio) but a Japanese company are probably the last who are going to take the risk like Swatch x Omega did. They don't really get marketing because they honestly don't care about anything outside home soil

Yeah, I didn't finish that as well.
I'm the same. I just didn't care for the guest (never heard of him) and then to find out he's apparently the new Bond was extra disappointing.
I loved the show with the guest. You could see he was authentic and passionate and you guys were sincere in wanting to chat through watch advice. If only my budget was the same…. If it was, I’d have gone the VC that Adrian put forward.
Worst part...he didn't even decided which watch.
Agreed, not really interested in minor celebs spending their cash tbh
I'm 100% onboard with relaunching James Bond and having it take place in the early 60's. I would enjoy the hell out of watching Bond with cars (and other vehicles), suits, watches, technology and music from that era. I think a good director and lead actor could have a lot of fun with that.

What episode did they talk about blok?
@@fspilot197c5 episode 8
@@matthewmckenney7230 thx
blok is absolutely refreshing! Twin 5 year old granddaughters need these! Definitely a little young, but already learning to tell time.
If I may, and as someone who has spent almost a decade of their life in the watch collecting hobby, I still value the need to be subjective in answering the question of people who are getting into watches. I loved the last episode, but I wouldn't want guests on every one. Never thought of Hardy as Bond, but I would love to see it! Cheers from Florida
Wow, thank you once again for the blok watch AET, and Neil! Super grateful, My son is ecstatic about his newest aquisition. Great episode, Great Sentiment.
We have a “Casioak” already. What we need is a G-Shock x AP Royal Oak Offshore. Could have 3-hand and Chrono versions.
Forgot to say, please do the Blok collab. I have friends kids that I’d love to buy some for.
Love the show guys! Got my 10 year old son his first watch for Christmas, a Blok 33 in Jet Black/Sand, based on George bringing it up last season as his BYOI. Hi dudes Im watching / listening at work... gonna watch again when I get home this evening
The mens Blok watch version, should it happen, should be called The Blok & Tackle!🤣🤭
Was kinda sad this video live ended. On the other hand, glad you guys extended. Great discussion. Season 2 has been effin awesome
Great to get back to the usual schedule - nothing against the last episode but you guys are better IMO!
I bought a Blok watch for my son as a Christmas present. I ordered it in October. What was most rewarding was that he immediately wanted to put it on and has worn it more than any other watch he has. Definitely we need an adult version of the blok watch
Giveaway idea - AET Private Shopper experience, state a budget (which AET match 😉), a brief and with the guidance of AET buy the watches.
AET Watch - must include a random business card generator…digital, projected or printed à La Bond!
I have the Longines big eye on a tropic rubber and it is perfect. I think its my favourite watch to wear.
An adult/child watch pair would be epic. My son would love to rock a watch that is some how married to what his dad has
Yessss
I enjoyed the guest episode and would like to have it more sporadically. I also like it when the guest isn't a watch nerd, maybe having guests at different budgets if they're looking for a watch recommendation?

Sorry for my poor typing during the therapy session. I kept writing Blok X AEF when I meant Blok x AET. Apologies. Great show though.
George is right so many brands these days are doing collaborations.
🤘
Hello lads, and "The Artist Formerly Known as, Captain Boring." Wishing you all a very happy 2023. Cheers.....
I would love an AET-BLOK watch for my 10 year old son! He's a G-Shock fan already, but I'd love for him to enjoy an analog watch! Sign me up!
Yes to more guests. Works really well
Great episode guys
I liked the guest on the show, especially when they don't really know that much about watches. Dive watches that don’t look like dive watches. 200m, robust, beach and hike proof. I’d buy that in a heartbeat. And para sailing…
Good call on Rolex white dial sub as Tudor are releasing a white ceramic too.
Yes yes yes to a block AET colab!
Andrew killed it with the white sub... you should gave seen your faces 😀
Absolutely would buy an Blok X AET watch!

But have fun trying and I'm in for the ride.
So down for a BLOK x AET watch for the next generation. Put me down for one
I’d actually like to see these dudes interview Graham Fowler
I can just picture George having an Alan Partridge moment if someone got Bond wrong 😂
😅
Hi guys my prediction for this year is the 39 mm Pelagos with green dial & bezel. Also I agree with Adrian on the best watch for 5k but if it must be under 5k then I’d say Tudor Pelagos 42mm in blue. That’s a cool watch in my opinion.
I agree with George, take Bond back to the 60’s. And I would go Henry Cavill.
About effing time watch surely has to be a 3 dial chrono with each skull an individual chrono dial?
Yessssss!

George doing a mud run, got to see that. But George what watch is mud run material?
Bamford x TAG Aquaracer 🤘
Out of interest what is it about studio underd0g that gets you guys so excited?
Omega Speedmaster SnoopySwatch aka SnoopSwatch TAKE MY MONEY!!!
Not feeling the zoom call vibe

Higher end Mr. Jones watches!!! We need more fun watches!
Cheers, regretting selling my Big Eye now...
Maybe we could get a G-Tag!
George hasn't got anything on me when it comes to Bond in his house, since I have Australia's Biggest Bond collection and the biggest in the Sothern Hemisphere!!,
40:00 F#ck, what Adrian is referring to here is basically cheap designer watches with a big luxury brand's name on it.
Marcus: hoping to get my desert storm soon too!!!
I always thought Will Poulter would make a great Bond
Good show . that Blok dude seems like a good dude. In terms of 2023 please no more divers it is saturated out there (pun intended) .
The Tudor theory is panning out. Almost 10% price increase in UK. And Rolex nudged up again by a few %
I want you 4 to be my best friends! 😂 wearing a ‘69 omega geneve with applied Arabic numerals and watching from sunny Ireland ☔️
agein agree to andrew about logines broo i agreed with this dude in all episodes 🤷🏻♂️😎🇬🇪
Fassbender as Jonathan Hemlock in the loo sanction directed by Tarantino!!!
Nice little mention there @straptailor
I have two autistic teens do a version with the puzzle pieces the block puzzle watch
Guys come one, I oppose this Endurance Pro slander😂. It’s my first premium watch and I love it. Is it worth the price? Probably not. But it’s on of the more exciting watches provided by the premium brands but it may be just my favoritism
Is George saying Fassbanger? I like Hiddleston. Everyone fantasy casting Bond, what about the next Bond girl? Anya Taylor Joy is a lock for me.
George, what I will say to you is, there's a certain tick you have introducing every point the same way.
1:10:08 come on Adrian it’s a family show😮
What episode of AET was Blok on ?
BTW...( re JB) Adrian would make a good Q
While I'd be down with a G-SHOCK collab that breaks society (gimme a 5600 solar that can count steps x play 1 small music playlist pleeeeeeease Casio) but a Japanese company are probably the last who are going to take the risk like Swatch x Omega did. They don't really get marketing because they honestly don't care about anything outside home soil
Effing killin it
