Thank you, it is lovely little railway set in pretty scenery, I'm glad it has been saved for future generations to enjoy, for a long time its future looked bleak.
Cheers I'm pleased you enjoyed it, without those still and video photographers travelling on these tours, they would not take place, I am one of those photographers.
@@Timsvideochannel1 A stills photographer could take a shot of the train and no-one would know if the train was standing still, or moving forward or backward. It's the one shooting the video that shows that sort of detail. But I'm sure you'd have become fed-up with the repetitive back-and-forward movements several times over, when you just wanted to capture the landscape as the train made its progress from one place to the next. That's what makes your videos as good as they are.
Wonderful ride - Austria is soooo clean, nice shots of some rivers, got the fishing rod ready. That steam engine is a beauty, well looked after. Cheers
Thank you, Austrians look after their countryside, it's always clean and tidy. The water next the railway was a series of ponds, I'm not sure what their purpose was, they might well have been fishing lakes. The engine looked well loved.
Thank you, I'm pleased you enjoyed the ride. I will run out of forward view video soon, I filmed this trip just days before the Czech Republic implemented lock-down rules. I do have a massive collection of travel videos I can edit and upload, this channel was originally intended as a travel video channel. I may also experiment a little as I have a large collection of old railway photographic negatives dating from as early as 1940, they were given to me by a builder who found them in a house he was about the demolish. I have also watched some of your videos, now summer has arrived the quality of your picture is really good. Keep them coming. Take care. Tim.
Hi Tim! A wonderful journey with the Mh1. This is a very busy locomotive and is often used. From Alt Nagelberg it goes a long way on two tracks until the route divides. Of course you continue on the left. To the right is the "Wackelsteinexpress" to Heidenreichstein. I don't know what it's like now, but in Alt Nagelberg there used to be a double exit with steam, and then a race for 2 kilometers. Before I got on the Mariazell Railway, I was briefly stationed in Alt Nagelberg in 1978. I'm already looking forward to part 2. It is a nice memory for me because it is a wonderful area. Cheers 🍺 Tim and stay healthy.🚂
Hello Hans, this was a wonderful experience, I'd love to travel along all three lines at some time in the future. I've seen videos showing the double departures, looks like fun. Ours was the only train in action, there is no winter public service, if there had been I'd have delayed my return home to travel over all the routes. I would also like to visit the glass works at Alt Nagelberg, I loved the ornaments in and around the lake. I'm just going to eat my lunch now. Take care. Tim.
Thank you once again Tim. Question: have you ever looked into why train videos such as this one, have such a magnetic, almost mesmerizing appeal to them? I am grateful for your help in getting me to a place where I can sleep.
Hi Jim, I'm not sure if its the rhythmic sound of the wheels on the track, the desire to see what is around the next corner or just the relaxing nature of a train ride. I often start watching similar videos, then an hour has gone by and I'm not sure where it went.
Hello, I love to film these narrow gauge railways, I am booked on a rail tour to see the East German narrow gauge lines in January 2022, hopefully I'll be able to post some more of these nostalgic videos in the new year.
Hi Tim, thanks for another view of a country I will never visit. I've heard of Storm Chasers but not Train Chasers, I was hoping no cars were coming the opposite way. Am I correct in the use of wood for the loco? Stay safe in UK.
Hello John, I hope you are keeping well, train chasers are more common in Europe than storm chasers, we don't have proper storms like those in the USA, just the odd blowy day and plenty of rain, except when the farmers need it, then we have a drought. Drinking tea and talking about the weather are the main British past times. We used to talk about cricket, but I think its time to invent a new sport, one the Australians don't play, that way we might get to win. Looks like I'll miss Pete this year, hopefully things will have returned to something like normal next year. Take care. Tim.
29:04 Neu Nagelberg translates into English as New Nail Mountain. Alt, simply means Old, just swap out Neu for Alt for the name of the destination of this train.
Hello Bob, this was my last train ride before the lock-down, my next two tours have been cancelled, can't wait for a relaxation of the rules on travel. I think quarantine, might be getting to Neil, he's not usually that negative. I'm glad you enjoyed the ride. Take care. Tim.
Thank you, Tim. Lovely ride. We enjoy all your videos. Stay safe. God bless.
Thank you for your kind comment, I'm pleased you enjoy watching my videos.

Well, at least this time they only did it once(the back & forth "pose for the cameras" trick). Whew! (35:22)
Amazing.
Thank you.

"Waldviertelbahn" - in English that's "Forest Quarter Railway"!
