This was KZ's first appearance on the show and they showed them meeting for the first time earlier in the episode. KZ was so starstruck and surprised that she could barely speak. While Jessie J was the winner for the season, KZ was the winner over Jessie J on this episode and no one was more surprised than KZ.

I doubt that KZ is using auto-tune for the 'robotic' sounding (please correct me if I'm wrong) because (a) this is a competition, you should be disqualified for using that and she won this particular segment over Jessie J. (b) Listen to her singing "Close to you" ... her versatility shows in her voice. She knows how to use her mouth and tighten her lips to mimic a saxophone. The way she modulates her voice springs from imagination (c) how would she be able to control the auto-tune? Look at her fingers ... look at her feet ...where is the control switch? Then (d) listen carefully ... are the sounds of the guitar being affected? No. Would she be able to use a mic different from other contestants? I don't think so.
I agree with you in this. No autotune. And im not a KZ fan. I really enjoyed this particular performance back in 2018, but her extremely agressive fans in the comment section managed to turn me against her... deeply unfair, i know. None of it was her fault. 2 years ago, maybe i could give her another go, without the negative vibes surrounding her.
