Attention: The frequency step of FM is 100kHz,and the fine-tune step is 10kHz
LW: 153 - 513 kHz (9kHz step, fine-tune step 1kHz)
MW: 520 - 1710 kHz [10kHz step,1kHz fine-tuning step(for America)
SW: 1711 - 29999 kHz (5kHz step,1kHz fine-tuning step)
Attention: When the above band is received in SSB mode ,step 1kHz,fine-tune step 10Hz

FM (S/N=30db):Less than 3 uV
MW (S/N=26dB):Less than 1mV/mLW (S/N=26db) :Less than 10mV /m
SW (S/N=26dB):Less than 10mV/m
3.Selectivity
FM: 60dB (±150KHz)

SW:60dB (BW=3kHz,±5kHz)
4.FM Stereo crosstalk: greater than 35 dB
5.Output Distortion 10%):200mW
CH-S = Telescopic antenna.
CH-A = Ferrite bar.
I'll add that the whip antenna selection of CH-S also makes the antenna socket active.
When checking out the external antenna it seems that the usefulness varies based on frequency. Last week a long wire in the socket helped on 1500. A weak station came in on the long wire and not the ferrite. But at the same time I found the ferrite better for weak reception on some of the lower frequencies.
It's worth experimentation. Also have a Radio Shack loop that I can plug into the external antenna socket.
The most interesting thing i have noted is that using the internal ferrite and trying to couple it to the Radio Shack loop by moving the radio near the loop works very poorly with this Tecsun compared to any other MW radio i have tried.

Isn't that for the ext antenna connection on the left side?
Hi Fred, I'm a bit late to the party. I think this was what Tecsun intended the letters A and S for. CH probably means "channel". "S" stands for "SW", while "A" probably means "AM", as in medium wave. The numeric LED segment cannot display the letter "M" in either lower or uppercase, so they substituted (M)edium wave for (A)mplitude modulation. "S" is easily displayed, although the rectangular "S" also looks like the number 5. 🙂
I've had my PL-330 since late 2021 and mine was the earliest production batch to receive the current firmware 3306. The ETM+ sensitivity can be adjusted by holding down "6" and changing the default values. FM, MW and SW bands have their own factory set default values and the PL-330 permanently memorises the new values (they survive the hard reset), therefore jot down the factory set values before changing them.
The undocumented ETM+ sensitivity adjustment is also available on the PL-320 model, which I also have. If I'm not mistaken the PL-368 also has this adjustment feature, but my PL-368 isn't with me as write this. 🙂
Hello Fred,
In the last tecsun video I told you how to find a radio stand basically fabricate it using a tablet pc 360 degree rotatable stand
Yes i believe you did.
Hi Fred -- that's the standard re-calibration function present on all Tecsun portables, including 330, 501 990 and 368. It is what makes Tecsun portables so attractive compared to any others. Tecun may not have mastered SYNC, but this recal feature puts them way ahead of others
Thanks.
Thanks Fred the hidden features are the same on my County Comm GP7. and Tecsun PL-368 too.
73! Have a great day!
Hello Fred.I forget how I found out but the "hidden" features are all in red and that relates to the power button, (which is red), so, all of these buttons/functions can be accessed when the power is OFF. Hope that helps. I like your videos, cheers.
Thanks,! 4:30 am,dead quiet, hot cup of coffee,Roscoe the rabbit is ravaging his potato,Fred dropped a video and I'm pretty sure this is why people do yoga.
LOL. Its 10.35am here. I was up at 6.45am and we walked the dogs. Very frosty 0 degs c. Came back in and had coffee and toast and launched the video. Almost live.
Fantastic and beautiful radio 📻!!!thank 🆗️👍🏼🤗👋
If you look at the display it shows both MW and SW when you've switched to using the telescopic instead of the ferrite rod. When it's in standard mode with the ferrite it just shows the selected band (MW).
Great. I never noticed. Thanks
Thanks for the info.
I bought one minutes after watching your first report😂
Hope you enjoy it!
I have the tecsun 368 from aliexpress but the instruction book came in Chinese.. but there is something for internal external antenna will have to check on line nice video

Wow! So you can switch from ferrite bar to whip antenna on mediumwave? So useful when in buildings where mediumwave reception is virtually impossible. I'm going to try it out and get back to you ❤
Yes! It works! Thanks! ❤
Hey Fred do you know how to see your radios firmware version? When your radio is off press the VF/VM button and all the characters on your screen lit up and after a second you will see 3306 as an indicator that my PL-330 is firmware 3306! I hope that helps you out!
Great thank you bud
I have a finding on the MW antenna. The CH-S is external antenna if you connect one or the telescopic. CH-A is internal ferrite. However there is one glitch - if you are in VF mode and set CH-S then things will work as expected and you may tune any MW freq you like, but if you are in VM mode (preset mode) then once you put the radio to CH-S if you change to a different channel the antenna used will become internal automatically even though you had kept it as CH-S. This I have tested on latest firmware as my PL330 is just a few months old bought from Anon.
Does it remember what it was set to or just reset regardless? My H-501x that has the same option doesn't seem to do that, but keeps the setting when i checked _very_ quickly.
Why I'm asking is because the PL-680 does remember what bandwidth you did a scan in, so it acts in the same way as you're describing. If you do an scan in narrow, then switch to wide on a station and then change preset it will go back to narrow. If you scan in wide and switch to narrow, it will go to wide. The H-501x, granted it has more bandwidth options, does not do the same thing.
Fred, in your original video did you cover the EMT+ scan speed hidden function that is accessed by long press of the 6 key when in SW EMT+ mode?
I plan to list all the hidden features but I'm at a loss where to post them.
I find it strange that they left so many out of their manual.
Hi no i did not know about that.
I’d kinda like it if Tecsun would just put these in the manual.
I’ve thought the same thing, If I was a marketer wouldn’t you want to advertise features of their radio for obvious reasons? 💰
Tecsun have always been a bit like this for some reason.
Nice radio fred
Nice tips, thanks! I've had my PL330 for years and I was not aware of the last trick (jumping back to .00) which is quite handy.
Are you positive it's not some kind of recalibration? does it really jump? I don't have my PL-330 at hand to check now. I knew about the antenna switch, no idea why they came up with "A" and "S" though.
Best 73s.
I ve not really tested it but its supposed to reset and keep the offset. Cheers.
Because I live 50 metres from Brean beach I have clear ocean to search across ie, no trees, buildings or any other structures for 7 miles to the front and SW is a bit of an empty space.
Fred your way behind on this radio it's nearly antique now
I would prefer "classic". Its still a top seller. If it aint broke then dont fix it.
HAH!!!! FIRST😅
Hello there 🙂
