After thorough discussion with AB6IX member Lim Young Min, Lim Young Min’s departure from AB6IX was decided today with respect for his wish to no longer cause harm to the group. We apologize for causing concern to many fans with the sudden news. In addition, we express our deep apologies to the many people involved in these album promotions due to the team’s situation. As announced previously, AB6IX will continue promotions reorganized as a four-member group, and we will contribute even further effort to support AB6IX for their future. Lastly, we once again sincerely apologize for having to share disappointing news to the fans who always support and cherish AB6IX, and we will put in our full effort for them to return with more mature music and performances. As someone who actively watched pd101s2 and desperately waited for the brand new music boys to debut together, I'm so heartbroken! Youngmin was such a great, kind leader. It doesn't ignore the fact that he did drive under the influence and could've put people's lives at risk. I really hope he reflects on his actions and is able able to still keep in contact with the members. ot5 ab6ix forever!
I remember when I first saw the drunk driving news I was like did I read that right cuz that makes no sense yall got the wrong group and the wrong idol cuz youngmin is THE LAST person I expected a drunk driving scandal from it really hasnt hit yet I'm gonna be crying myself to sleep
@Jazzy Nini What are other scandals? If it was on a girlfriend when he attended Produce 101, it was 100% rumor. BNM said it officially and he and his member of MXM talked about it with an evidence through Korea TV reality.
I know that idols are supposed to set an example and all that but come on thousand of people are caught driving drunk (including famous people) everyday. I think that the right move would be not promoting with the group and wait till people forgot about this drama (and it would be a punishment for getting people's lives in dangerous too). Anyways kpop companies are just a stupid mess and I'm getting tired of them ruining the careers of such young idols.
Okay but let's not excuse drunk driving. Thousand of people die from racism and homophobia too but that doesn't mean we should just accept it and normalize it.

I’ll miss Youngmin so much... I really wanted to see AB6IX performing live one day in a concert... and it hurts more to think they’ll continue as a 4 member group. He was the first member who caught my eye when the teasers for their debut were released and he climbed really fast to be one of my ult bias in kpop and it’s really sad to hear the news of his departure. Yes he made a mistake, he apologized but he didn’t want to cause more harm to the members and to the fans, that’s why he left the group and for me that’s really admirable, i mean he decided to abandon everything for his members sake and that’s a leader. I know he made a mistake. But sometimes we just get blinded because he was our bias or whatever, after coming to my senses I know it was wrong and irresponsible, since he is already an adult. He knows he hurted and disappointed his members but also the fans all around the world. Hi, I just thought I would say this. Youngmin is my 3rd ultimate bias and AB6IX are my 2nd ultimate group. I've been a fan of them since Produce. I was so heartbroken he had to leave the group. I'm extremely upset he decided to leave, but maybe it was for the best. I hope that he maybe goes solo. He said he left AB6IX because he didn't want to hurt the group's image, but if he were to go solo and do something bad, he would only conflict himself, not his whole group. Daehwi will probably be my bias now. Youngmin is a talented and handsome young man, and for his whole career to be ruined by one mistake is saddening. He probably won’t make it as a soloist. At least not in Korea. DUI is a huge thing in Korea. I hate to say this but he would probably just get more hate & be blacklisted.
One of my OG pd101 picks. Youngmin suffered a lot in his short career.. from the rumors during Produce up until the 'scandal'. But I'm so proud of him anyways. Yes he made a mistake, but this was a guy that was so passionate about music and everything he did. I remember hyping up MXM so much and telling my friends about them and I was so happy when finally BNM boys came together and debuted. But the moments of the 5 of them together were so short-lived. He did a great job and I hope that he's able to get back up on his feet and do whatever makes him happy.

Well i know every fans miss him so much. But nobody told him to drive while drunk. And it was just few days before their comeback. I can't understand him. To be honest, when i saw the news about him i couldn't believe it..but it happened and it was his choice. so it's totally His fault. Do you know why i'm saying this? This situation with the DUI honestly disappoints me. He’s grown and should know the consequences for his actions. Image the dangers he could of caused for himself and others. Where I’m from first time offenders can spend a few days in jail. I’m sick of seeing people defend him for this. He broke the law. He ruined his own career. Period.
